mmmmmmmm meat wrapped in bacon....

Plataforma here in NYC is an awesome Brazillian Steakhouse.  They run through all the meat and then the variations wrapped in Bacon comes out.  I had to crawl out of there after 2 hours of all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink wine.

TGP seconds this motion.  Went to Plataforma the last time TGP was in the City and ate like a king!

How can you top having filet mignon wrapped in bacon presented, then sliced and served to you off a sword?

There is a place like that in Newark NJ called Seabras Rodizio, all kinds of meat cooked on a stick over fire, and they just keep bringing it around until you stop them.

it would be cool if two waiters served you and then fought to the death with the swords... sorta like this...

Speaking of the 'Toga - whatever happened to Sir Redford Tackleton XVI???

He's has been conspicously absent from the LLPP for quite some time.  The lack of assmosphere since his departure has been quite noticeable......

Rolevio

While not sure it counts as a steakhouse, the best Rolevio has had was from a  BBQ place about 25 minutes outside of Austin, TX.  The entire menu consisted of 4 cuts of meat ordered by the quarter pound, corn  and various drinks. No plates, just wrapped in a wax paper.  It was amazing.

Supposedly pretty famous, it was featured on Dateline or similar News Magazine show shortly before I went.  I just can't think of the name.

PBR...

its been a tough couple of days for pbr and his community as 2 local guys from pbr's junior h.s. and h.s. were killed in iraq. has the community reeling right now....both played football in h.s. in doylestown, pa. area and one went to johns hopkins and played football the other went to the naval academy. both officers and great leaders. such a waste of life and watching them bring the one coffin home at willow grove naval air station was heartbreaking. really makes you think sometimes whats important in life. both guys were in there mid 20s just a sad time here right now w/ candlelight ceremonies at night.

This Memorial Day we should all remember it is not about the parties and sales.  It is to remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for their friends, family and country.  Take some time this year and attend your towns observations.  Take some time out if you are with family and friends to remember these young men and women.  If you see the men and women of the VFW and their Auxilaries giving out poppies, take one and give a small donation if you can, wear it to remember.  Look up the poem "On Flanders Fields" and you will understand the poppy.
