Since all seems relatively quiet, Union89 has a question for the Originaleer posters......

Union89 met many cool RPI supporters at the Union/RPI game tailgate prior to the game.....many RPI fans spoke of thier amusement with Post Patterns, but when Union89 asked thier handle, they replied, "Oh, I don't post on there, I just read what everyone else has to say."

What is up with this voyeuristic, Peeping Tom approach??  Union89 feels the more the merrier!!!

Knightstalker thinks these are the same people that claim to read Playboy for the articles and not the nudie pictures.

Another 160 posts, Rev, and Karma awarding will be yours. :-)

At this rate it looks like it will take The Rev another 4 seasons to award Karma.

Perhaps the Rev should start talking smack.

Rev,

Talking smack is the best way to loose karma - particularly on here.

Good Luck Dutchmen - anyone who plays Rowan is a friend of mine - anyone who defeats them is related!

Union89 - I get props from lots of people I know who read the postings but never venture forth - maybe they don't want to risk their karma???????

All the best.

JT

That is the strange thing.  The DJAC would have many more posters if the lurkers joined in.  Can't tell you how many times a guy will go "Dude... love to read your ATR and post patterns stuff."

Or "Dude your stuff sucks... stop hanging on Rowan's nuts."

JT invites them to join in on PP.

Almost all reply: "Nah I just like to read the boards."

'gro

A lot of RPI fans/players/Alum whatnot read the posts... only the few actually spit verbal on here. Really don't know why. Went to a game one of the 1st years after the career and it was "hey enginegro! hilarious stuff man".

Coach King's Wife: Hey how are you... how's life... (that kinda stuff)
Gro: great... tennesse... blah blah blah
Mrs. King: I heard about you on the internet
Gro: ....heard what?
Mrs. King: Oh just that you were funny

Phew... last thing I need is the Kinger or Mrs. Kinger mad at me.

Did you then pick up a cucumber and tell Mrs. King, "Mine is bigger than this", Animal House style??

Hey now. Coach King would rip a 18 year old kid's heart out of his chest just for stepping on his headset cord back in the day... so Gro would not like to see him very mad. You're welcome to try.

'gro

Gro likes how even JT has used the term DJAC. Good sense of humor. Any chance the Profs will take the field to Christina Aguillera's 'Dirty'? That's worth the price of admission.

Speaking of the headset cord thing.....back in the day, Union89 used to bite his lower lip until it bled rather than laugh when Coach Bagnoli went flying due to a froshmen standing on his headset cord.

Was that the ****test job in the word to be the kid responsible for holding the coach's headset cord.  Union89 isn't sure who Bags would get more pissed with.....the kid organizing the cord or the player standing on it.

I'll add you to the list.  Anyone that starts www.yourschoolherefootball.com has to be at least a bit of homer. Comes with the territory.  And trust me after what my own school puts me through, I must be crazy to continue. JT does try to be objective.  At least once a year an RPI grad critiques the ATR somewhat constructively, and JT straightens up.

JT is hoping to stir the appathetic Rowan undergrads to write a story... take a picture so that JT may occasionally venture to other East games. Last inquiry wanted to know how much it paid.  JT asked him to check the definition of volunteer and get back to JT.  Fact is JT has seen only red since he started this venture.

JT really enjoyed doing the Sam Mills piece.  He'd like to take in a game at Troy next year.

The funny part is that the negative people read JT's stuff more intently than the people that like it.  They also seem to attract more like minded followers than the positive followers.

Here was a recent live transaction:  "My friend said you sucked.  I read what you wrote and it really sucks.  And Rowan sucks too."

JT went over shook their hands happily and welcomed them to email me.  They were in shock.

Its all good.  They hate it and they read it every week. :)

I have always been impressed that the LL board has a lurk: post ratio of under 10.  I don't think any other board can make such a claim.  But it seems that on places like the NEFC board, all they do is Peep.

Daily Ponders:

  • Anybody else think the Pumpkin heads have a good shot to take down Delaware Valley?
  • Curry was a lot closer to DelVal than Wilkes was to Rowan, hmmm. . . .
  • What's Delaware Valley doing in Pennsylvania, anyway?  Pennsylvania's the South, just ask Muhlenberg.
  • If 'gro's (reasonable) LL Trifecta had occurred, which LL team would have a better shot against Rowan?

Be careful though, we seek quality, not quantity, U89.

JT, din'tcha notice the Boss lyrics?  I'm just sayin'
Irritating SAT-lagging Union undergrads and alums since 1977

In all seriousness, Union89 does like your stuff and truely enjoyed the article on Sam Mills.....

You are obviously a strong Rowan supporter and it shows in your writing (not a bad thing...see Union89's compliments to FR's announcing style).  Union89 does feel that your knowledge of the LL is a bit lacking....but as you pointed out, this is a non-paid position and we should all keep that in mind when condemning your travel itinerary.

That being said, Union89 hopes to have the opportunity to meet you this weekend PRIOR to consuming 53 Miller Lites.
