What's that supposed to detox you from?

Reno knows it's a message board and talking about the game is what is supposed to be going on but can we just take this how it is? Union vs Ithaca, the 2 most consistently good programs in NY! It should be a great one, I cant wait to watch it from the hill!!!!!

Also, did anyone read the predictions yet? The D3 crew waffles quite a bit in the East: Probably going to be Del Val but could be Rowan, Union or Ithaca.....have some guts and pick a team!!!!!

I think Hobart will win big this weekend as cortland is comming off a huge win.

Union is also comming off a huge win, while IC is comming off a loss....probably an advantage to the bombers.

Rowan will win by two or so tds, and I think curry will give del val more of a game than people expect.

Im 14-16 so far as well.

Only Frank Rossi's boys and the cheeseheads pulled me down

I looked but couldn't find this thing.

Well Pat, that stuff??.....nothing, except for relieving me from extra bowel content.

My point is that I"m being honest w/ the LL brethen and posting day 1....which was supposed to be all water. So lucks like I have some improvements to go

Jonny Utah

RT, Im a huge fan of the mcdonalds breakfast burrito.  Especially when one of them unwraps all over your lap going 90 mph on the masspike last weekend.

Since RT never got my picks in, RT will split the cost w/ whoever loses.

JT

RT,

JT recommend the high colonic from a reputable spa.  Much better than water and weeds. Or for the the 79 cent solution, go to CVS and get citrate of magnesia.  Suck down the whole bottle and put down a tarp.  Floodgates open!

'gro

Gro used to work 3rd shift... getting out at 8am Gro could throw down on some McDonalds breakfast... that stuff is bad for you, can I sue?

Rolevio

Rolevio once worked at McDonald's and often had the fhist that included Breakfast, Lunch and ended right before Dinner.  At the end of one summer, Rolevio's cholesterol was 297, Rolevio swore off McDonald's for one week and his cholesterol dropped over 120 points.  Rolevio now can't stand McDonald's save the convient rest stop trip when travelling.

JT

Union89,

Its cool. JT would like to expand his boundaries and catch a LL and/or an E8 game.

Hopefully he can get few Rowan plebes to cover a couple of games in 06.

Hatred can be good.  JT hates the local sports talk show in NYC. Mike and the Mad Dog.  Mike thinks he invented sports analysis and if I have hear one more time how he's Bill Parcells buddy (bitch) I'm gonna be sick.

As far as Mad Dog "Chris Russo" goes he shouldn't be allowed on the air w/o a thesaurus and a dictionary. He is w/o a doubt the dumbest sportscaster making  a million plus in the country.  He says agraeous error when he means egregious error.  He says swatska when he mean swastika.  That's just the tip of the iceberg.

Drives JT nuts, but JT listens like a crack addict on the way home from work.

So JT gets the hate him, love him, but still read him stuff. JT's all about ratings.

And JT wants to get better at his avocational craft.

Mike and the Mad Dog, man oh man.  Chriffsfss Russffsso???!?  I first heard that show in what musta been U89's first month as a Dutch alumna.  I wondered "how the heck did this guy get a job that involves talking?"

Then I'd think "I hope a commercial break comes along soon, so that I don't have to spend too much more time here in the parking lot with the engine off, listening to the Mad Dog moron argue with callers from all those romantic northern New Jersey towns--Metuchen, Piscataway, Hoboken, Hohokus, . . ."

Is Steve Somers still doing the late night show "on the FAN?"
Irritating SAT-lagging Union undergrads and alums since 1977

Knightstalker

Knightstalker can't stand Mike and the Mad Dog, Knightstalker has never heard two sportscasters that knew less than they do, and Russo is so annoying.  Knightstalker listens to ESPN radio more than FAN.  Knightstalker prefers Michael Kay to Mike and the Mad Dog, and Kay isn't much better, he can be a true pompous ass.

RS81:

It looks like Del Val/Hobart is understandably the "undercard" event this week, but wanted to respond to your Daily Ponderings.

    * Anybody else think the Pumpkin heads have a good shot to take down Delaware Valley?

Yep, I do.  In two years I haven't seen Delaware Valley blow out many good teams.  They play close but win and eventually that's going to cost them.  Based on previous experience, I'd be surprised if Hobart didn't have a lead at some point in the second half.

    * Curry was a lot closer to DelVal than Wilkes was to Rowan, hmmm. . . .

Thinking about the later, the Rowan drubbing shows two things:

1 - Wilkes' style does not lend itself to shoot outs.  If they get behind early, they are in big trouble and it snowballs from there.  The analogy isn't perfect, but think Springfield College of recent years.

2 - Rowan is still the class of the East.  Can you think of another team that could lose its QB and one of the top defenders and still do this?  I agree with JT in thinking the WPUNJ game was a blip.  Maybe Union will prove me wrong.

On Del Val's end, the remarks about Hobart apply here, too.

    * What's Delaware Valley doing in Pennsylvania, anyway?  Pennsylvania's the South, just ask Muhlenberg.

"Delaware Valley" refers to the Delaware River which runs from Upstate New York down between PA and NJ.  So it's the Delaware River Valley.  I guess it's analagous to RPI which is in Troy but Rensselaer county.  But this will really throw you -- Del Val is in Doylestown which is south of Muhlenberg (Allentown) though Del Val is in the East, not the South.  :)

    * If 'gro's (reasonable) LL Trifecta had occurred, which LL team would have a better shot against Rowan?

- I'd still say Union has the best chance.  Hobart had a crack at Rowan last year, which didn't go too well.  And, while this will expose me to a karma fire-bombing, I still believe you have to beat the best teams in your conference to have a strong case for post-season success.  RPI didn't do that this year so I don't have much reason to believe they would do better against Rowan than the other two LL teams.

I will say, though, that I'm very impressed with the Top 3 teams in the LL. The LL is the best conference in the region in terms of the caliber of its top teams.

PS - Steve Somers tends to be on in the late evening (7 - 12 PM) depending on game broadcast.  Late Night used to be produced by D3's own Ray Martel, though now he's moving up in the world. :)
