Tags, KS would recommend maintaining a good relationship with current boss, it can only help down the road sometime when Tags needs a reference or some other favor.

How long ago did new company make offer?

If they made the offer a while ago and you haven't given a firm decision you need to.  If they just made the offer and are now demanding an immediate decision they may not be a desirable company to work for.

Will the new job allow you to work from home so you don't have to wear pants while working?

Good advice here....any company that puts pressure on you to make a decision by the end of the day is just a harbenger of things to come....that is a very poor way to conduct business.  That is of course if as Reg says you haven't been stringing them along for a while.

More urgent, not a good idea to leave your current job on a Friday at noon to "think about another opportunity".  Tags, you seem like a good dude, but you have probably already burned a bridge with your current company.

RT- the used car tactic was the first post Reg was writing but I thought "there is no way a company would actually use that without being jerked around first"

Not neccessarily true.  Some orgs think they are the greatest things since sliced bread and use hight pressure recruiting tactics to "weed out" those that are "serious" about a great opportunity.  Many times people like this are full of ****.

JT worked for a company once,"We only recruit the best of the best and then only the best of those were asked to stay."  It was complete BS.

That kind of sounds like the last company KS worked for, it was complete BS.  They didn't retain the best of the best, they retained the suckingest of the suckups.

what are those? Piano keys? RT has never seen one so he can't tell........

Actually Tags, they are probably recruiting you for a shot at this....

Tags

Ha, thanks RT. Appreciate that.

On a serious note, Tags believes people know he does not mean to show any type of disrespect on purpose to those who help him, Tags is very thankful & has said so quite often, so he feels this will all end up alright.

Regulator

So, what did you decide Tags?

Knightstalker

Tags, LLPP needs an answer by 5:00 PM eastern time today.

Did you work for Perot and EDS too?

Knightstalker

No, but they think they are bigger than they are.

Hobart has at least 16 of those - in lacrosse anyway.  Hopefully some other sports (other than just Sailing, WS Soccer and Field Hockey) will bring some more titles to the shores of Geneva again soon.

No, but they think they are bigger than they are.

Methinks JT worked there too.  Off of Rt 3, right?

Knightstalker

No this company was in livingston.  I used to work for the company right off rt 3.

Welcome back Rev!  Where have you been?

Wicked busy.  Here's an example: I have a little mission tomorrow up near Hoover Dam.  I thought I'd just be cruising at altitude doing a little training, but last night I got a call just before bedtime that I am going to be the person of contact for an Admiral, a Captain or two, a Commander and a flight crew, plus other VIPs.  I'm supposed to take pictures and at the very least write cutlines for a magazine about this exercise, and they don't even have a spot on the boat or helo for me. (so how can I take the pictures?)
I ran out this morning and got a uniform pressed, got to work and realized that I also need another uniform (dressier) pressed, but can't get it done by 5 am when I hop a plane for Vegas.  My flightsuit was old spec, and I have to borrow one that will likely make me sing soprano or at least give me a wedgie that will take three weeks to unstick.  In the meantime I'm putting out some other fires for people who are off on vacation.  It's been like this for about a month now and I don't see an end in sight.  After my normal workload I'm putting in about 3 to 8 hours a night trying to cover other people's shizz at home.

Oddly, The Rev is having a good time doing it.  When this is over, I'm hoping I'll have at least a Letter from the Commandant.  Here's the Rev a few weeks ago at USCG Station Alameda.  Sorry I don't know how to size the image.

Can TGP make it back East just once this season? TheRev has a 100% solid ready-to-roll plane-ticket-in-hand plan for the Hobart-RPI game.   If you fly into SYR Saturday a.m., my Dear Old Daddy can pick us both and we will all head to Geneva.  Consider it.  Pop has lots of extra bedrooms now that all the younger sibs are off to college.
