No surprises here, the Gagliardi finalists were just announced and no LLer's.  Union89 figured Arcidiocono had a shot to be on the ballot....

Lil'Gro going down hill on the bicycle in Schenectady with the tassel's coming off the handle-bars must have broken the 4.34 40......no??

ZA thinks we should mention things our past football coaches did to us that would most likely cause a law suit by today's standards...For example...

In 8th grade, we had a retired marine as our football coach...He used to tie a rope to the goal post and then to a large truck tire...He would pull the tire back and have us line up just in the right spot and blow the whistle for us to fire off low and hard....He would let go of the tire just at the right time so that if you didn't fire off low, the tire would not only hit you, but wipe you out and knock you back about 10 yards with what felt like a concussion....

Needless to say, even the small guys on the line use to block the hell out of their opponents!!!  Looking back, it's fun to even think about it...but realizing how things are today....guess you could say...Show me da money!!!That's a law suit buddy!!!!!

QuoteArcidicano & Justin Beaver's (finalist rb) stats are very similar.  Beaver's stats are through 10 games while Arcidicano's is through 11.

RUSHING                 Team    G    Att    Yds    Avg   TD   Yds/G  Long
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Justin Beaver        WW    10  306  1745   5.7    18   174.5   64

2. Tom Arcidiacono    UNI     11 329   1880   5.7    19   170.9   94

The way he's played all season, Arcidicano was very deserving of a spot on the ballot.  They could have added another RB to the ballot.

Great Point...Frankly, actually watching him run this year, there were times he was like a 20 year old man playing football with 16 year old kids....No disrespect intended to anyone on the field....but straightarming good would be tacklers to the ground like they were 130 pound teenagers is what ZA witnessed more than once!!!  He really is a determined runner.

Wasn't there a Seinfeld episode w/kramer or George wearing the strength shoes???

Sure was.  Actually it was Jimmy who wore them first and got George into them.  And Jimmy spoke in the third person as well.  Only seems fitting that episode was mentioned on this board.

"i can't wait to line up on saterday and see if your boys are as tough as you guys build them up to be."

MIYH,

Welcome back

All-time great Seinfeld episode.  I believe George was accused of being a "chucker" in this one as well.  I have played a lot of basketball in my time and knew more than my share of "chuckers" who never managed to play "D" or bother to rebound at the other end either.

I would love to see Union beat Rowan but as for Hobart I must confess I am partial to Del Val as they are the MAC rep.

Go Aggies - MAC Attack!

Chad Sexington? That is close to GB15's given name. Now for the best part, if you replace "Sexing" with "Hor"--both quality words--you would have GB15's real name. I'm not even kidding.

Frank, with a Harvard Law degree, what can you be doing in Schenectady? Shouldn't you be running for governor or something?
A 2004 graduate of the "almighty legendary" Ithaca College. Goooooo Bombers.

JT

ZA,

JT's trying to remember.  He's sure he some litigeous stuff happened to him way back when.  The problem is that JT thinks that it was how football preparation worked at the time.  Hell, when JT's Dad played they didn't believe in letting the players have water during practice.

JT is also thinking about current parenting and the beatings he used to take at the hands of his parents.  Kids are wimps today.

JT's grew up in military family before Pops left for NYC business cash.  JT's Dad is proud of the fact that JT tells people that "The Great Santini" had nothing on JT's Dad.  Even though that statement is mostly legend, Dad stands up straighter when JT waxes on the disiplinarian Pops was.

About the only thing JT can think of off the top of his head was playing his entire Junior year in HS with a fractured arch in his foot because the HC didn't believe he was hurt.

Dave Chappelle re-run is on.  Roca pads... potty flush...  Smashly Evans Great Moments in Hook up History.  JT hopes he stops being nuts and gets back to the funny.

Greetings all,

JT good work as always about the misconceptions of all the D1 "refugees".  Everyone else..... don't we really know deep down what is going to happen on Saturday?  RU has an extremely athletic and fast D that Union will not be able to solve for more than 14-17 points while the RU O will be good for 28-35 points whether its sunny or snowing with their big WR's and Rankin.  Don't underestimate RU's ground game either or it will surprise Union. Thats the worst case scenario.  This too could be a blowout.  I went to RU in the early 90's before they were a juggernaut and they have developed into a successful program through hard work and good recruiting.  Someday people will stop criticizing them for being successful.  I think alot of D3 fans wish their teams were like ours.

I don't think that many teams wish their teams would lose to William Paterson.

They might wish that their teams could throw 22 points at 5-5 Brockport, though.
Irritating SAT-lagging Union undergrads and alums since 1977

ACMob

Welcome TEX!! 8)

AC believes RUTex has given y'all a crystal ball into Rowan fans' mindset.  Play a team every year and their going to beat ya.  I bet U fans are glad to see Coast Guard leaving.  They held your offense scoreless. ???  AC still can't understand that one.  And you can (at least) double the points RU threw at Bport this week cause Rowan's "D" is the real deal pardnor!! ;)

RowanTexan

AC and JT,

Wouldn't it be ironic if RU won their 1st Stagg with their backup QB.  Reminds me of the Giants when Hostetler came in and won the Super Bowl in 1991 I believe.  Sometimes a wounded animal can be more dangerous!!
