Pat -

TGP is not so confident in giving Hobart the #1 spot.

Hobart lost 3/5ths of their OL to graduation, not to mention Blakowski and Mizro (Hobart's pretty much all time record holder in every QB category).  Oh yeah - we lost 3/4 of our starting LBs and the three best tacklers (Purdie, Hoffman and Robinson) on our defense.

At least LiDrazzah and Wright are back, but Strom is a big X factor.  Sure he's a senior, but he's had very little PT.  Until he proves he can lead this squad, TGP has Hobart rated lower than what probably most other prognosticators have them ranked.

On a separate note, Hobart has added a new Asst FB coach (former WR at UConn):

Here's the link from the Hobart SID (thanks Ken!)

Matt Cutaia

Says he's getting a Master's at SJF, but TGP bets that Coach Cragg will have him scouting practices and games instead pretty quickly ;)

Just a hunch, but I have a feeling when our regional rankings come out, the LL will be in the order of:

1)  Hobart
2)  RPI
3)  Union
4)  Rochester(If they even make it)

The 'national' poll is mostly based on how last year finished up.  I have a feeling the regional poll may be slightly different...:-)

Your listing of the four isn't that different than ours: Hobart, Union, RPI, Rochester.

I think people look at the lack of an offensive line returning for RPI and the loss of a big pass-catching TE and wonder whether RPI is going to have any offense. Two games against Endicott and Utica won't prepare RPI for traveling to Hobart.

Plus I heard Endicott and Utica are gonna be NASTY this year....Too bad we lost the Husson game.

college football live on espn right now w/ great games coming up this year. it will get the juices a flowing just watching it right now!!!

Agreed.  I guess I didn't get my point across.  Just based on # of votes, I read the D3 poll as...

I see what you're saying, yes. But just because there are a lot of non-LL schools in between doesn't mean necessarily that there's a big difference.

I didn't vote for any of the four, however. Want to see how they all shake out first and vote for a clear leader.

Don't forget the scrimmage vs Hudson Valley CC 8)

I agree with you about RPI not geting tested early, but looking back at the past schedules the recent pumpkinhead dominance of the engineers goes back longer than when they moved to game #3.

yup... a win.  1 close win, 1 close loss (to the eventual east region champs, not bad), and 3 monkey stomps vs RPI.    Still not the test the enginegros need before Hobart, IMO.

WTF!! that is crazy. People just run out to cheer the winner with horses flying past them. Now that was some blazing speed.

Question: If LLPP goes to Siena, do we have to wear turtleneck sweaters?

I'm still bartering for a Troy High game.  We downgraded the schedule with last AD, which was thought to be impossible.  Can he be outdone?
