Dicks beat the Bart?  Puh-leeze.  See below (if you had read Kickoff - which TGP plagarizes in this write up to an extent - you'd know what wuz up with the Red Dicks from Carlisle).

This year the Red Dicks return 12 starters (five offense, six defense, one special teams), but like Hobart, have some huge holes to fill in key positions (QB, RB and FS).  Without graduated QB Matt Torchia, last year's Centennial Offensive Player of the Year, head coach Darwin Breaux (now that's a great cajun name!) must consider handing over the offense to sophomore Ian Mitchell.  Mitchell played multiple positions last year and was the only player besides Torchia to throw a pass (he was 2 for 3 for 82 yards and 2 TDs).  As a receiver he caught 17 passes and averaged 5.2 yards per carry on 18 rushes at RB. Oh, and he was the Devils' longsnapper, too.  You just gotta love D3 'ball!

At the same time, there is reason for optimism down in Carlisle. Linebacker Eric "Smoke A" Dube (CC Defensive Player of the Year) and defensive lineman Eric Hertrich (first team All CC) are back, so Dickinson will probably need to rely on its defense until the offense starts to gel.

Last season, Hobart beat Dickinson 31-28 in Geneva.

Trailing 28-24 with 2:45 remaining, Hobart QB Shawn Mizro '07 engineered a nine-play, 80-yard drive that ended with a spectacular leaping 12-yard catch in the end zone by Ryan LiDrazzah '09. Mizro was 6 of 9 on the drive, hitting LiDrazzah twice for 36 yards and RB Doug Blakowski '07 twice for 26 yards.

That win gave Hobart it's current 3 game win streak over the Devils (Bart's last loss to Dickerson was in 2003).  Since 1999, Bart has won 6 of the last 8 meetings between the two schools.

Last weekend, Dickinson (1-0) defeated Grove City (Grove City, PA) 17-13.  Tim Wells (RB) scored both of Dickinson's touchdowns.  Dickinson WR Chris McInerney caught nine balls for 102 yards.

I expect a low scoring, defensive game with a turnover or two deciding the final outcome.

TGP's Prediction:        Hobart 14        Dickerson 10

Garnet  thinks Hobart has bigger holes and Dickinson will be able to fill theirs.

Better Guru?

Maybe after the games during the true palooza segment of the day ... I can watch a game after a few but may have to wait till after this year ....if the family member is playing.. nerves and car bombs probably not a good fit.

Great news about the partnership for the video webcasting with D3Cast.  Will this be available on archives somewhere or is that against NCAA rules?  KS has a gig Saterday night and will not be able to watch live.  If this is not archived is there a way to record the webcast?
