I voted for RPI because I hope endicott runs the table in the NEFC and boosts RPI's QOWI.

no offense but what an absolutely and utterly meaningless poll that we're voting on this week. Seriously, RT believes it to be nonsensical. So what did Union prove against Springfield except that they gave up 500+ yards of offense to the #9 team in the country? RT will say it again....league games matter in the LL and you can criticize RPI for the "cupcakes" like Endicott but RT would rather have good momentum and confidence under his belt than have a letdown on the opener. This isn't 1992 when RT was dying to schedule Ithaca to give us a better SOS when all we had was Union and no AQ (Hobart wasn't a factor then).

Ummm...Did you read the prior four pages?  As I said, Union/Springfield is not a good matchup for Union anymore.  This question is relevant since, four years ago when these games began to be scheduled, we and athletics departments in these schools knew that the AQ would exist.  It's interesting to see how they prepared for the AQ and how their strategy has played out.  You're taking your angst about us picking on RPI's bakery specials and laying it across a poll that actually proves somewhat interesting.

Stated another way...OFFENSE TAKEN.  Have a nice day Senor. :-)

Matt Leinhart
Larry Fitz
Vernon Davis

it's gonna be a route.

Pep just read the Hobart release of the Statesmen's 30-27 OT loss to Dickinson and is somewhat surprised by the last minute turn of events. Hobart, sitting on a 24-19 lead with a first down on the Dickinson 11-yard-line with less than 1:00 remaining, runs the ball to the 5-yard-line where Dickinson forces a fumble, the ball is scooped up and returned 95 yards for a TD and the home team takes a 27-24 lead with a successful 2-pt conversion. Granted, Hobart marched downfield in the final 47 ticks to tie it with a field goal, but then lost it in OT.

It surprises Pep that Hobart didn't kneel down on that first down play. Not sure how many TOs Dickinson had remaining, but would think they'd need all three to save any time. Pep knows only what he read. Any Hobart fans know more? Rev.?

TGP listened to pretty much the entire WEOS broadcast (superbly called as usual by Ted Baker - no relation in case any one is wondering).

Either a knee or several (TGP can't remember how many TOs DC had, but TGP assumes it was 2 or 3 since TGP didn't recall any DC TOs being used in the 2nd half), then kicking a very short FG (which should have been pretty automatic for Ancona) would have put Bart up 27-19 with less than a minute to play basically forcing DC to drive the length of the field with no TOs and needing to score a TD and 2 pt conversion to force OT.

However, TGP has to think that DeWall/Cragg got a little greedy and wanted to put them away with a TD.  Making the game at 31-19 completely out of reach.

What happened next was a complete fluke but probably due to the fact that:

a)  Hobart had a back up QB in the game
b)  Hobart had first time starters playing at RB
c)  Dickinson made a great defensive play and got lucky

Now considering points a & b, Pep makes a good point that Bart maybe should have played it safe.  What is even more perplexing was that they had been playing pretty safe the entire game - DeWall had been calling a very, very conservative offensive game plan all day (most likely due to points a& b above).  Not to mention one of DC's earlier TDs was a direct result of Hobart coughing up the ball inside their own 20 yd line in the 1st qtr.  Not sure why DeWall didn't think that a fumble with the game on the line wasn't a distinct possibility?

Regardless, TGP thinks Bart will come away from this one a better team (hopefully kind of like the 2004 squad that lost to F&M for some unknown reason then ran the table in the LL).

This was not an embarrasing loss in TGP's opinion, just a very disappointing one.  Regardless of Dickinson's records leading up to 2006, this year Dickinson is a defending conference champion and NCAA qualifier.

Fortunately for Hobart it sounds like CMU fared similiarly to Dickinson vs. Grove City, so if Hobart can cut down the turnovers, they should be able to beat CMU this weekend to get their season back on track.

I've said it for years here, and the proof may be filtering in a bit more now:

--- Cragg liveth by the sword, and Cragg die-eth by the sword. ---

Except for 2006, which seemed to be a very conservatively coached season by Cragg standards, the calls at the end of the Hobart/Dickinson game do not seem uncharacteristic in the least.

TGP completely agrees.  Cragg will always eschew the safe approach and go for it 10 times out of 10.

Baker mentioned in the broadcast that (obviously prior to this game's final outcome) Hobart had not lost in OT since pre-96 and were basically undefeated in OT since the NCAA instituted the current OT format.

Probably part of the reason Cragg lives by the sword, because, until last Saturday, it really hadn't cut him.

what does the LLPP think of fisher scheduling Mount Union for the first game of the year...

Superman thinks that it will be a good test and great for recruiting...Superman also likes how fisher does the OoC scheduling for the most part... they try and get one or two tough games and then a cupcake or two... UofR always makes for a fun game... because it is growing into a huge rivalry and it is great to see the camp good day kids come out and hang with the players...

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

It harkens back to what "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair says:

To be the man, you gotta beat the man.  WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Their AD has some serious nads to get that on the schedule.  Great for SJF (unless they find themselves down 52-0 after the 1st qtr, but TGP doubts that will happen).

U89 gives Fisher lots of credit....good for the program's visibility and a no lose situation.

why not take on the king of the mountain to see where u stack up? cant tell me if you were playing wouldnt you want to take on the supposed best to see how good you really are?

BubDad

Anybody have any knowledge about Susquehanna U?  New team to the LL, don't know much about them other than they seem to have been a solid team in the past.

What do you want to know?
My son is a freshmen at Susquehanna. He went there with his friends. You could say they're rebuilding but I don't have much confidence in this coach. I'd like to beat you guys but it may take til he's a senior.
