Reg has a question for the LLPP...
What is a normal amount of shoes/sneakers/sandals for a man to own?
Reg has over 28 pairs of footwear and 4 pair haven't ever even been worn yet.

Is this nornal?

I might have about 4 more pair than that -- I think Reg needs to get his tax deductions in order by donating the ones he no longer needs to the Salvation Army (make sure to get your receipt).  That way, Reg will have room for more when Shoes.com puts another 25% off with free shipping coupon sometime soon.

Yeah, my 10 pair of topsiders / sandals added to the mix definately doesn't help....

Both MR and Reg put together 6 bags of old clothes to donate.  I will take my $3k tax deduction this year....thank you very much.

Because of new tax rules ITEMIZE everything you're giving and have it signed off on by the donee's representative.

Not to give a free plug, but in order to save LLPPers some good money this '07 Season, a certain hat store that was started originally by a Union College Grad in my Class of '98 -- that sounds like the top of a garbage can or sealable bowl -- has placed all Z-100 NCAA fitted caps on sale for $10 ($4.99 shipping).  Not a bad buy.

PM the link if you don't mind.  Thx!

1 pair of sneakers
1 pair of old sneakers (mowing lawn, working in garden)
1 pair of comfortable black shoes for work
1 pair of heavy black shoes (wear to work in the winter or in the rain)
1 pair of fancy black shoes (job interviews, church)
1 pair of cleats (softball, baby!)

What's with you people?

That's how I roll, too. If a man has more shoes than most women, we may have to put an asterisk on his man card.

You are SO dis-invited from Shoes-a-polooza '07 for that one.

Not sure what a "Chalie Brown yellow cloud" is, but I usually wear the sneakers to work. Only wear one of the sets of dark shoes if I'm meeting with someone important. Newsrooms tend to be fairly casual.

And get this -- when the sneakers wear out, I replace them. Who has room for 28 pairs of men's shoes?

Fixed. A dood shouldn't have more than like 6 or 7 pairs tops.
Sneakers
Work pair
couple of pairs for nice suits, black or brown
flip flops
etc.
Just my opinion.

I understand the word is "rediculas."

New rules cover basic cash donations, even those that are less than $250 (must have proof -- i.e., a letter or receipt) and tighter restrictions on clothing donations (must be well-documented, citing condition and specific types of items).  It's worth the bother.

I just got an audit notice for when we started the WABY broadcasts in '04 because Union improperly kicked me a 1099 in 2006 for $5,498. even though it wasn't "income" but rather a "reimbursement" (my own donation plus the school's money toward the new broadcasts -- that wasn't paid to me until January 2005).  Because the 1099 was sent to the IRS and didn't match the $-0- on my return for that 1099, the IRS is auditing me and threatening me with a $1,600 tax bill.  So, if you don't think the IRS will catch on to minor issues, you gots another thing coming.  Now I have to backtrack with three-year-old paperwork.
