If I was a parent of a 12-year-old that got mocked like that, maybe. But when you're a grown-up you have to be able to take that. If you want to play on the big stage you have to deal with that.

True.  But she should be able to deal with the same thing right back.  The coach does not have the forum like she does, so he kind of had to do that in order to send a message.  (well he didnt have to send one at all like that I guess)

she did...she wrote a follow up column the following day that was on the front page callin out the coach...sorry didnt have time to look up the link but its there if you find the newspaper...imho she has a right to say what she wants but it almost seemed to be personal some of the hits against the qb and how does she know whether the kid didnt play to severity of the injuries? was she w/ the trainer and coach when going over the injury? did she get it from a third party (source) that wasnt present when the injuries were discussed?

What are the odds the QB hooked up with her or wrote on her face when she passed out or something.  That would put the icing on the cake!
Funny, but very wrong.  :o

How do you know dude?  Are you hooking up with her or something?  Or do you want to date him?

And secondly if you are so sure, what odds are you going to put on it being wrong?  100:1....1000:1?
Reg is in on either of the above odds....are you?

I think it's wrong to go with the "QB is hooking up with the reporter" angle. Call me a spoilsport, call me a party pooper, whatever... I think it was a joke gone bad.

Do you guys now see where the he said she said crap gets you?

Oh yeah, I am sure the reporter actually saw his mother feeding him chicken....Im sure.

and the post I had wasn't really a joke...I just wanted to know the odds...it was kind of like saying, wouldn't it all make more sense why she would lash out and focus on him that much??

I bet someone in Vegas is taking that action!...come on, mildly cute, young chick, trying to get the in's of the program to better her career.  You honestly don't think she has crashed a few parties?

If she put that in there without actually seeing it happen, then she gets what she deserves and should be canned for fabricated things in her work.
I don't think a good journalist does that.

Hmm -- methinks the coach had access to a much bigger forum. Sure seems like it.

Well she was there.  She could have yelled right back at him and defended herself and what she said.  Maybe the coach would have left anyway, and maybe that clip you couldnt have heard her, but I think she has the same access he does now....

Perhaps. Or perhaps her boss has a little more control over their employee than Oklahoma State does. :)

My take on this is that the writer is immature and so is her writing. She may have legitimate criticisms, but how you express them is citical for a reporter. Her writing feels like a personal attack, not an unbiased observation.
Coaches should get a pass on the the occasional rant, but I think his reaction came from feeling guilty about downgrading a hardworking kid. It's good to see that he cares about his players that way.

Can we talk football for a moment. How bout these WPI Bizzaroneers? Beat up on 4 cupcakes, but they have run up some impressive stats... and host a Hobart team coming off 3 close games (1-2 record).  Is WPI for real?
