sorry tdt this phillies fan see's the warrior wakefield getting shelled and the bosox getting smoked in the 5th....ouch!!

Wake was cruising up until then.  MDC then comes in and sucks it.

B2B2B at least gives Sox a little hope, but TGP knows this Indian pen is pretty solid (and our 1, 6-9 are pretty weak.

sox are down to it....its going to take something special to beat the tribe. pbr never would of guessed the tribe and rockies in the series but right now they are the 2 hottest teams in baseball.

This is MLB's and Fox's biggest nightmare coming true.  Be sure that you'll see Fox Game Breaks with American Idol auditions just to try to prop ratings up from NHL Stanley Cup standards from last year (worst...ratings...ever.).

How bad would it suck if you were the Fox executive that pushed for the WS?  I bet True Life "Fat Camp" gets better ratings than the Rockies vs. Indians!

PBR...

amazing to pbr that gary bettman still has a job...he has crushed hockey in ratings/tv outlets/contracts one of the worst commish ever

Why is it that when small market or "non-traditional" teams do good all of a sudden its a bad thing for the entire sport? Nobody is going to watch an Indians-Rockies world series... so let's not even play it.  Contract the league down to the Yanks, Sox, Cubs, Phillies, Dodgers, and Braves.  Don't stop there.  Make the Yanks play the Sox all 162 times with mandatory bench clearing brawls every 11th game.  Now that would make great ratings.

Same arguement for a potential (but unlikey) matchup of USF vs Boston College in the BCS.

All this talk makes me want to channel my inner Dennis Green, "If you want to crown'em, crown their ass!!"

Why would the Braves be included?  They don't even sell out home playoff games.

PBR, I would agree Bettman has be atrocious, though he has done a few good things, albeit in the wrong way.  The settlement after the strike invoking the salary cap for instance has basically saved hockey in the Canadian markets not named Montreal and Toronto.  Instead of Calgary and Edmonton, there are now owners pondering a return to Canada.

On the flip side...give props to Vs. (f/k/a OLN f/k/a Outdoor Life Network).  They've scored a major sport on an otherwise tiny cable outlet (so they don't really care about the 0.5 ratings since it doubles their normal rating) and have branched out into other sports (college football -- they had the major Pac-10 losses the last two weekends).  They just need to work on their on-screen graphics.

The college football argument is different -- USF is a very questionable #2 or #3, depending on the poll.  Normally, I'm all for the cinderella story, but this just smells of a knee-jerk Boise State reaction.  Look at their schedule and tell me you could vote them at #2 currently (or even #1 on some ballots, I'm guessing).  It's bizarre to me.  Normally a team like USF needs to work their way up in the rankings throughout the season.  Somehow, this team got catapulted, and I'm not really sure how except after a couple messy Top 10 weekends.  If they finish undefeated and there are no other undefeated teams, then I'd say, "Yeah, that might be right."  But even the most ardent "little guy" here isn't sold.

I like USF, they beat West Virginia 2 years in a row, and Auburn this year. Auburn has some key wins (Fla) and losses (Miss St) but is ranked somewhere in the teens.  USF has a good QB and a great defense.  Obvioulsy their undefeated record is what has them at #2, and if they lose a game they will plummet, but for here and now I like their chances to run the table and hold up to any team they would face in a BCS bowl.

Why the braves?  Just picked some teams off the top of the mellon with large fan bases.  Braves fans don't go to games because the traffic sucks.

They have 2 wins over Top 25 teams (Auburn/WV), a couple wins over mediocre/bad teams (UNC/UCF) and a couple wins over atrocious teams (FAU/Elon) which is about right for this time of year where most programs schedule alot of easy teams.

Rolevio doesn't believe USF's or BC's ranking is much of a reaction to Boise State either, even if one discredits the ACC or Big East, the strength of those conferences are far superior to the WAC.  If you can get through Rutgers, WV and Louisville unscathed you've proven you can compete.

Ha that is funny Regulator.  TDT had the exact same reaction when he saw Borat in the theater when it came out.  This baby was packed to the gills with schmucks who'd been told how heeeelarious Borat was.  All these cats were bringing down the house with laughter and glee.  TDT kinda felt awkward.  TDT laughed a couple of times, but otherwise found it not too much of a knee slapper.

TDT is appreciative that the consensus on the LLPP is that the movie sucked donky balls as well.

Frank, South Florida did win at Auburn and beat a WV team that would probably be #1 in the country if they hadnt lost.  So they have beaten two top teams in the country.

Not really going to matter after tomorrow night......Rutgers rolls over USF in Piscataway on Thursday Night Football....

TDT-

I honestly don't even know if I could fake a laugh to bring down the house for any part of that movie.  Honestly, when I think about the hype that movie created, it was pure marketing genious.  Do you think they had people in there that were paid to laugh to get everyone else going?  Hindsite being 20/20, Reg is glad he didn't fork over the $25 bucks (plus sneak in snacks) to see it

I vomited at the part when they were fighting in the hotel room.  I want that image erased from my memory.

Touchdown Tommy

Yea Regulator, I don't know about you but TDT absolutely positively refuses to purchase anything at the Movie Theater.  I mean 6.50 for popcorn, 5.50 for candy, 6.00 for fountain soda that costs these azz clowns about 12 cents.  Is it really 25 bones for REG and MR to hit a movie in MD?

RE: Google Maps

So TDT used to use Mapquest or the equivalent.  Last night I was using Google and clicked on the maps section.  That shizz is pretty damn sweet.  I can zoom in on a crack house in East LA, a porta-potty in Schnectady, or Gro's Thug Mansion in the suburbs of Chattahoochie.  This may or may not be the best invention in the history of mankind.
