Need some help... regional VP is coming to town on thursday... Gro's got a presentation to put on. Now my powerpoint skills are tight so Gro doesn't need help there... need some kinda gimmick or act to make this guy remember Gro when it's time to move people up the ranks.

RT and other wisemen....How would you handle this...In an administrative office setting, a slightly below average looking female in her 40's is promoted and ZA has to work daily with this person. This person is extremely jealous of ZA's relationships with the employees (business like, but very postivie) She is sneaky and although dysfunctional in many ways, has some talents that are constantly pointed out by a male high and mighty on the corporate ladder who has major influence....He has paved the way for her to achieve no matter how many workers she pisses off and ****s on.  Comes across as the most confident person in the world, but crumbles under pressure...Has made ZA's and many others lives at work absolutely miserable. Employees have gone way up the ladder to complain verbally and in writing, yet she appears untouchable. If she was a hot body, we would at least have some benefit....ZA is actually thinking of moving on....IF she were a guy...ZA would have already taken care of this matter with an old school clothesline!

Let me sum this up....If RT worked an 18 hour day and killed himself for the company, this would go unnoticed.  If this person ZA is referring to got called in to work 2 extra hours, the entire population of NY would know about it and she would be getting letters of praise and such and would most likely be told to go home early the next day to "rest up"....ZA never quits, and usually figures things out in the work place, however, she has survived this way for 3 years and its getting worse....

Perhaps she has other talents you are unaware of that she is employing in her professional pursuits.  Additionally, sychophants and sociopaths know how to use social settings expertly to the consternation of the mentally healthy.  I have nearly twenty years of active duty naval service to support my observations.  Suffice it to say that these types eventually are exposed for the shallow personality-disorder types that they are and dismissed.

Probably not much help - but I do sympathize with you - the killer in the military is that this personality type may be your commanding officer - DOH!

You just have got to love a Sailor who serves on a boat that is designed to sink - but will it return to the surface?

Been all over the world - including East Africa, Djibouti, a long way from the MAC, LL, E-8 and anything else familiar to this boy from Philly.

RPI was a last minute throw-in into the RT recruiting sweepstakes that hit upstate NY in winter/spring of 1989/90. RT was down to Union/Hobart/Ithaca/Hamilton in the D3 ranks and Colgate & Army in D1.

RT started getting calls at the 11th hour from some DL coach at RPI whose name escapes RT.....his line was "yes..those are ok schools w/ good football but we've got a good reputation and you can have some PT as a frosh". Well, at this point, RT began asking people about RPI and after they got past the "you mean Rochester something or other???", he then realized it was a good school who was famous for engineering and hockey...not much of a rep for FB though.  RT remembers seeing some special on TV about the people camping out for hockey season tickets and about some big model train at RPI.

RT doesn't hear from said coach for a couple of weeks and then calls RPI to find out the coach has left and his case is now being handled by a "coach jojo". RT was skeptical at first but then got the warm fuzz from this Jojo cat and when the financial aid package rolled in, RT realized
1) he couldn't afford Colgate
2) he didn't want to be in the Army (at the time...ie, age 17)
3) he didn't see much PT at Ithaca or Union for a couple of years
4) Hobart?? RT didn't want to be an English teacher....

So RT signs w/ the Engineers and the rest is history!!!!
