AU's hallmark win over Springfield is looking less and less meaningful these days too.

And Union's thumping at the hands of the Pride is looking worse and worse....maybe U89 can downplay it by stating that the game was very early in the season.

Anyone??

U I think that you can point at the fact that you guys had no Idea who your QB was going to be and you had a lot of young guys, I think that if you guys played Springfield now you would win

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

news from the LL business side of things..

hopefully some of you cats got in on VMWare (VMW) when RT told you to jump on it at 70 about 6 weeks or so ago. As of today, closed at $120.00

JT snapped up 200 sh and is rolling with a trailing stop loss right now at $105.  Charts still look good.  Carbombs on JT at some point in the future.

Also grabbing some options here and there.

Another good one coming up this week.  Res Hopes that his beloved Bart does not despair.  Although the Red Sox winning again is disheartening, all is well, all is well......

An a win over the U will make my day, Torre, A-rod, and the Yanks be damned.

And get that pic of Tebow out of here, Jose Jalapeno.  Here is the Heisman frontrunner in '09.  Go Dawgs.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

JT is mostly an option guy... more bang for the buck.  This one was not on the radar.  JT knows enough tech to think this might be a good buy after RT put it on the scope.  Plus JT liked the charts and the formulas, giving JT the double thumbs up.

I think the first game of a season has to be taken with some grain of salt.  Hartwick losing to Wnec is another one....

I remember in 1996, Corltand lost to Mansfield in the first game of the season.  We played them the next game and went up 35-0 in early in the second quarter en route to a 59-whatever blowout that wasnt even close.  Then we lost to Cortland by a big score at the end of the year on a muddy field......

So teams do change throughout the season...

Tags, your question is a tad lacking in context for me to address it directly.

Mr. Iwantfolkstothinkimreallyintellectual-

The point is that using the transitive property to help justify downplaying a team won't work.

I don't want to insult you (can you make the same claim?), I want to answer your question.

I just don't understand what your question is.  Now I don't understand your explanation of your question, either.

I'm glad you're an intellectual, evidenced by the fact that you're posting your thoughts on message boards, and not say, making your points by smashing barstools over people's backs.  I'd never ridicule you for being an intellectual.  I would make fun of you if I ever learned that you're some sort of Patrick Swayze Road House wannabe, though.

wow... not sure how to follow that up.

A) You said Hobart was better than Fisher, and your logic was b/c they beat both Alfred & Hartwick (which is 1/2 right). And since Hartwick beat Fisher somehow that makes sense to you.

B) Roadhouse is a classic

A) Although I D'oh!!ed on the Hobart v. Hartwick thing, results v. common opponents is a legitimate--but not infallible--method for analyzing relative team strength.  I don't understand your "transitive property" comment.

B) Did you also love Top Gun?

In response to your earlier comment.  I played for Ithaca and the 1996 season went something like this (scores not exact...)

Week 1
Mansfield 21 Cortland 14

Week 2
Ithaca 59 Mansfield 21

Week 10
Cortland 38 Ithaca 21
