U89,  Sit back and relax you are about to get bich slapped by TDT in the Stupid Club for Jerks.  Ask the Playa Hatas how it feels.

This Building 19 has TDT intrigued.  I will have to stop by and check it out next time I am in Boston.  For some reason I am picturing it being like a Trader Joe's (Do you guys have those in New England??) except with consumer goods instead of food products.

Damn, even a man short, the ClownPunchers rolled TDT's team in SCFJLLFFL....

Anyone listen to Pat and Keith's podcast?  RPI/Union wasn't mentioned as one of this weeks big rivalry games.  Kind of interesting.  Thought it was a bit of a rivalry...

Didn't listen to this week's yet.  RPI got some airtime last week, then screwed the pooch against UR.

The LL fiasco should be all over the podcast... is it mentioned? Shoes is important too: 2 schools 15 miles apart battling since 1886! it's older than Army/Navy... Pat's been to Sch'dy, but we need to get the duo to come to Troy in 08.

I'm not too familiar with the "shoes" game between RPI and Union.  What is the history of the shoes?  Who's shoes are they?

Is this such a huge rivalry, that records of the teams are meaningless?

They are known as the "Dutchmen's Shoes", does that answer your question?

;D

The three we mentioned were ones outside of the playoff picture, and we only specified that rather clearly. I understand there's a little bit riding on some games in the LL.

It's the oldest college match up in NYS and one of the oldest in the country at any level. Throw the records out the window for the most part when these teams play. There's always been alot of hype around the game and, as a former player, there were times when RT felt it was TOO much emphasis on a game, when we probably would've been more relaxed if it weren't built up as much...but hey, it's college FB and that's what rivalries are about. In NYS, the Shoes game and Cortica are the big historical rivalries but RPI/Union goes way further back. The reason Cortica is so well known, in RT's opinion, is that those 2 teams have usally been battling for postseason, while RPI was a doormat for so long.

For a pic of the shoes, see 'Gro's signature.  It really is a cool trophy.

See what us Union grads have to deal with on a regular basis from those clowns hailing from Troy??  I honestly feel bad for Pat to have to deal with these ignorant Engineers (and business majors at an Engineering school).
