Gro is pleased with his 7MP Sony DSC-W70.  Fits in your pocket, nice sized screen on the back. Good picture quality. Easy menus. Rechargable battery is a must. Uses memory stick duo pro, so it might not be compatible with other devices, but who really swaps memory cards between devices? Downloading is easy, gro doesn't use the provided software just plug in the usb cable and grab directly off the removable drive in 'my computer'. It also has a RCA cable to view on your TV.

last but not least Gro can personally vouch for the durability of this camera, since drunk gro dropped it on blacktop at least 3 times during Shoes 2006.

The one thing that Reg finds so disappionting about his current camera is how long it takes to actually take a picture once he presses the button.

If I hit the button, it should be taking the picture within .02 seconds.

The camera is an older Kodak easyShare.  Needless to say a new camera is due.

Are you sure their isn't an option to remove that?

DewCrew sounds like he drank 47 cups of coffee and took a speed ball to boot...

Too much mountain dew, sounds like gro on his 1st job interview... he's a little better now.  Still light years ahead of Conway.

Good job DC08!....started off a little timid
About 2 minutes in, DC08 is whistering to Gordo "Can I speak!"

Thanks... I had to take a minute or two to catch my bearings, but once I did, I think I did a pretty good job.

Thanks to all the RPI guys whom I met today.  You guys have a nice atmosphere and great support from former players, something that only the stronger Division III programs enjoy.  I really appreciate the hospitality.

And thanks to the LLPP members who listened to the broadcast today.  Reading your posts during the game was nice because you just never know who (if anyone) is listening.

Sooper:

Good to meet you today.  Good luck to your boys next week in a game that's a lot more interesting than the usual game against an NEFC playoff team.

Dew:

Good to meet you today, as well.  You did fine.  Just hit me the next time I don't let you get a word in. :)

Thanks. A little belated because I was busy all day yesterday. You were flowing through the halftime roundup... I figured I would try to get a word in since I've covered the ACFC guys, but I know you have a time limit as well..
Thanks for letting me up there to do it.

Frankly RT, ZA has been saying for some time that ZA would find a "straight on kicker" for 30 yards or less kicks and a soccer style kicker for the long ones.  When you look back at the NFL back "in the day", many field goal kickers were big freakin lineman, kicking the ball straight on.  Soccer style came into play mainly for distance.  Who cares if the straight on kicker only can kick a 30 yard field goal if he's super accurate. Let the soccer style guy take the lower percentage long shots the big guy can't kick. ZA wonders if that would work out...Then again, ZA is nuts!

hmm...who will take on the homework assignment of providing some FG statistics from the NFL? RT would say we compare the 1950s/60s (era of straight on) vs. the 1970s/80s or 80s/90s for soccer style. Obviously, we'd need to normalize it somehow if the situation exists where there's a big gap in PPG between one era to another because more scoring chances would skew the percentages, in RT's view.

Anyone have any idea on how to do this? Would like to decide if bringing back the straight on guy is an option

KS would look primarily at the mid 60's through to the late 70's.  This is the time span where you had plenty of both style kickers playing.

Without having read any posts past this point yet, I think your time frame might a little off. Wasn't Mark Moseley the first soccer-style kicker for the Redskins in the early 80s? Although thinking back to some of the ESPN Classic stuff and NFL Films stuff, I think Garo Yepremian (sp?) kicked soccer-style for the Dolphins in the early 70s.

PBR...

negative mark mosley was the last straight on kicker for the skins...correct garo brought the side winder into style

I was half right... Nice catch on the Moseley part.

That is why I said mid 60's to late 70's.  In the mid 60's the soccer style kickers started to come into the league with the Gogolaks.  Then Garo Yepremium, Jan Stenerud and some others, but there were still plenty of straight on kickers.  George Blanda, Jim Bakken, Tom Dempsey, Gary Krause etc.  It is a good time to compare the two styles.

I guess that would make sense... I guess my frame was off...

Smite me if you must...  ::)   :D

You may be able to improve the camera write speed, depending on the write speed of your current memory card.  If you have a cheaper memory card, it probably has a slower write speed and you may be able to upgrade.  However, it may get to a point of diminishing returns depending on the write speed of you camera.  check the specs of your camera and memory card to make sure they match.

I am not talking about the write speed.  I am talking about the time it takes between me pressing the button from halfway (to focus) to all the way down (to snap the picture.)  There is a good second after I press the button down until it actually takes the photo.

what I see when I press the button is what I want taken....not what I see +1 second.

PBR...

reg...u kicked pbr's proverbial rear end in the llppffl....pbr may have set a record for the least amount of points scored...granted he has 2 playas going tonight but a nice win for ballin on a budge
