They should have waited unless the Mitchell Report came out.
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

Congratulations to Cortland for a solid victory over Union on Saturday.  The Cortland defense played outstanding, led by Ben Nagle.  Four sacks, 5.5 TFL, and 3 forced fumbles.  Wow, what a day.  The secondary hit with authority, breaking up 8 passes and intercepting 2.  Vinny Aiello had 3 break ups on his own, including one in the first quarter which set the tone and discouraged Union receivers from coming across the middle with him in the vicinity.

I had a chance to meet some of the Union kids too.  Really nice kids, and I mean that sincerely.  It's pretty rare these days when you hear a player congratulate an opponent on a nice catch, or a tough hit, but that is exactly what I heard on more than one occasion from Union kids while shooting on the sidelines.  Audino runs a class program, and I wish we played them more often.  I'm not naming names, but there are a few teams we play every season who seem more interested in starting fights once the third quarter rolls around, when it is obvious they cannot compete with us.  I'm so tired of the trash talking and the shoving after the plays.  Cortland - Union was a straight up football game between two sides who respected each other on the field, and understood sportsmanship.

Let's hope we see each other next season in the NCAA's.

Was great to meet you in the Press Box Saturday -- thanks for stopping by, and congratulations on the victory to you and your team.  Except for the ineptitude of the clock operator, Cortland really runs a class act from top to bottom.

(Edit:  JT, I was thinking of you in the fourth quarter when the clock operator couldn't master such simple activities like stopping the clock on a first down 30 yards past the marker and keeping the clock stopped following a timeout.  People got nervous in the Press Box when I said loud enough for everyone to hear it, "The clock operator needs to stop the clock on the first down...I know you can hear me down there.")

U89 has been plotting his revenge on the Yazz Flute ever since YF defeated the ClownPunchers in Week 1 by .0021 points......retribution comes Sunday B!TCH!!!!!

The CPers roster has been practicing groin punches and post & cut blocks since the unfortunate Week 1 loss.

PBR...

pbr forgot to send some smack reg's way thankfully pbr forgot as reg unleashed fists of fury, monkey stomps and multiple groin kicks before reaching into pbr's chest and pulling out his heart and showing it to him before pbr collapsed...

I don't get it.  Doesn't a referee do the clock at all games?

If they keep letting the dollar devalulate, recession is right around the corner - they may as well let the banks take their hits in the sub-prime write-down mess, and be done with it.

No way they're cutting again anytime soon, they know they need to tighten it up.

Ok, Tags is done ranting for the morning.

many have tried, few have succeeded. Yazz flute sits atop the LLPP Stupid Club for Jerks League at 8-3 (gro's $ team 'Doid Rage is also 8-3 and #2 in that league).  After I win, I'll invite you to Tino's for a cat poop salad.

"You will do it immediately!"

Tags, if this is your idea of a rant, The Rev needs to teach you how to go into a full-tilt rant, and add a touch of rave.

The Rev will keep it short, but hopes for quality rant over quantity. Viz.:

Americans have given up on self-reliance and are looking for government hand-outs.  This is unsustainable.  The Fed has been feeding us a steady diet of lies and monopoly money to keep our bellies full of meatcandy, our SUVs full of gas, and our minds empty of anything except what is on cable/satellite TV.

What America needs is a serious dose of medicine...a financial version of chemotherapy or an enema...but no one is willing to suffer some short/medium term consequences for long-term health.  When even 100 year old companies like Proctor & Gamble can't see beyond a 90-day quarterly report, we are in trouble.

End rant. The Rev is well-behaved this morning.

See, Tags, that is how you get a rant done.  And really, that's just a sample of what The Rev is capable of even at 6 in the morning.  Get The Rev fully awake and ranting/raving, and you can you have hours of entertainment.

The Rev recommends you Google things like "Ludwig von Mises" and "Austrian Economics".  LvM taught econ at NYU but was an outcast, and Austrian Economics is considered "unorthodox" to say the least, but it is the only truly "free market" school of economic thought.  All the rest (including Keynes) are forms of statism/marxism to varying degrees.

The Rev is still a vehement anti-marxist, but he shall save that rant for another day and another forum.

gro agrees that quartely reporting and the knee jerk reactions they cause leads to companies dumping long term strategy for short term gains... but gro is going to pass on the financial enema at this time.
