Texas wouldn't have won the NC three years ago if Mac Brown didn't have his buddies participate in this kind of strategic voting.

Every season of the BCS has had controversy... and it all comes down to the same principle that every year more than 2 teams have a legit case to be considered for the NC.

TGP is not sure what's worse, the D1 BCS mess or having a tournament that nets you the preseason 1-4 like D3 does?  Just kidding, TGP prefers the tourney, but just wishes D3 had more parity like D1 currently does.  After seeing the MUC-SJF score TGP was kind of like "what's the point of even making the play-offs if the reward is a double monkey stomp?"

On a separate note, TGP is also a USC grad, so he was happy to see the Trojans back in the Rose Bowl.  Although TGP was really hoping for UGA or OSU to match up with SC, TGP has seen the Illini and thinks they should be able to hang with SC for a couple of quarters.  Mostly TGP is happy that this is the final season of JDB.  USC will be better off with a Dirty Sanchez or Mitch Mustain next fall.

Looking over the Bowl schedule, besides the obvious BCS problems, Rolevio sees that BC once again got screwed a few spots in the ACC picking order.

Oh yea they did.  And thats the other crappy part of this bowl system.  These other games are about how many fans each team can bring to each bowl game, not which team is better.  BC will not bring their fans to any other bowl besides a big one.

And if d1 had the 16 team playoff, BC might be sneaking in as well.....

The d1 playoff is comming.  Its not a matter of if, its a matter of when.  I think if LSU wins and the national champ has 2 losses, it will be a good point for playoff proponents....I still dont know why some one out there that has the power or money cant come up with a system that will make everyone more money with a playoff system.  1000% chance a 16 team playoff would generate more money than the current system does.

I also heard on the radio today that the underdog has won 7 of the last 9 championship games?  Is this true?

Pretty much.  FLA was an underdog to OSU last season, as was Texas when they upset SC.  When SC smacked the crap out of the Sooners the Trojans were the underdogs as well.

And I might try to figure this one out tonight (anyone esle can jump in if they want to) but I wanted to see what would happen if you bet $100 on every money line underdog for every bowlgame this year.

32 Bowl games would be $3200. (Ill start with that one)

LLPP Monday Morning QB Question of the day:

Was it bootleg for the Bills to run a play that picked up 20 yards when the Skins came out in the missing man formation?

Did the Bills know there were only 10 men on the field?  I'm glad they ran a real play, it happened to go for 20 yards but they did the skins and the league right by not dogging it.

they have problem is the bowl lobbying committee has tons of power and leans on the right people and viola no playoffs....people even have put together a playoff using the bowls  but the bowls fear so much about losing revenue and who would get the NC game they dont want to hear it. the more years that go by and more controversy sooner or later it will come

Is who gets the NC a question anymore with the new Championship game bowl?  I've heard it's mainly been the Big 10 and PAC 10 Commissioners who are worried about losing the Rose Bowl.  Why, I don't know.

I assumed the Skins told the Bills about it pregame but, Peter King is reporting that Greg Williams didn't even bother to tell Joe Gibbs, much less Buffalo so I suppose the debate is academic.  At Buffalo didn't checkoff into a deep ball into the empty safety zone.

I remember in high school we played this team who had a player die in a car crash a few days before the game.  The team played the first (30?) seconds or so with 4 men in honor of him.  I remember feeling kind of wierd at first but I think we scored against the 4 man zone........Im not trying to be funny here, but it was kind of wierd...

not sure about delaney the big10 commish (although his statements seem to be not wanting a playoff) but pbr knows paterno has been beating the drum for playoffs since the 70s when numerous psu teams and several others that went undefeated never got a sniff of the NC....as they say the chickens are coming home to roost....now all of sudden 'sc and pete carroll are saying there needs to be a playoff system and michigan as well when they got squeezed out lloyd carr was screaming for a playoff so hopefully when enuf people get burnt this will finally get done
