Closed circuit to PBR.  What's the weather like?  We finally going to find out if Manuel will hit for Hamels in the 6th?

LOL..yes hamels will be on the pine, maybe available on 3 days rest for game 7 if necessary. Temps are going to be cold....wind chills in the 20s and overall very cold temps for this time of year. Weird feeling starting the game in the middle. Ticket prices are nuts $2-3000 for basically 3 innings...

The Rev will not be home for Halloween candy distribution.  He will be in transit from Dulles airport after three delightful days away from work.  But since it's considered work, that is three paid delightful days away from work.

The Rev resolved today to apply for a recent opening at Hobart.  If anyone wishes to sabotage The Rev's plan, please go back about 30 pages and find The Rev's full-tilt rant and e-mail it to the HR office.

On a football note, The Rev is a little worried about Hobart this weekend.  The Rev saw how pumped up Union was to eat raw meat, and The Rev thinks that WPI is looking at Hobart as Buzz Buzzard looked at Woody Woodpecker (fresh meat).

Hobart better get their heads in the game fast and keep their heads in the game the whole time.  WPI would love nothing more than to be that team who breaks into the magic trifecta at the top with gusto.  Hobart needs to stop them. Period.

P.S.  The Rev is not going to the game because he would likely jinx the Statesmen.  The Rev is a jinx, just like Bobby Brady.

Section 'infield 131' $1000 a piece for 3 innings!

LD,

As gas has gone down to about $2.40 in some places in Boston, the price of one Super Chicken Burrito and a medium diet coke has gone up to $6.24 at Annas Taqueria.

I think I buy more gallons of gas a month than eat burritos, but I'm not sure.  In the end, the rising prices of Corn meal (for the tortillas), rice, chicken, hot sauce, and refried beans, is hurting JU's wallet the most in this economic downturn.

Dude, come down to NC and you get a fraud burrito from Moe's for twice the price.  The people who work there even speak English.  It's garbage.  I'd pay $6.24 for Anna's anyday.

+1 to two complete jackasses who can equate the current economy to burrito's and negatives of a wait-staff that can actually understand you in a Mexican restaurant.

In other news relative to JUs day to day activities:

-The Boston Globe and Herald are now 75 cents each and thats a huge hit in my opinion.  Although I love how the herald is now smaller and reads like a magazine.  I never thought a quarter would be such a big deal but I ain't paying 75 cents for a paper I can read online for free.

-Coffee still is under $2 at DD and Starbucks.

-JU might actually move to New Hampshire and vote for this Shaheen gal, as these fricking Sununu ads are driving me up the wall.  Why the hell to MA residents have to listen to this garbage from New Hampshire every radio and TV break?  You would have thought Shaheen was running against Obama for crying out loud.

-JU ate half the holloween candy that was supposed to go towards visitors on Friday.  JU explained to Ms. JU that tough economic times calls for drastic measures and a predicted downturn in trick or treaters friday night.

Re: Newspapers. This is why my business is dying, because why pay for something that you can get for free?

That ain't the only reason.  When objectivity, facts, and real news only exist on the Sports pages and sometimes the Business section it begins a downward spiral that has been in the works for a while.

JT

JT's got the good candy... cars parked in the back.  He's resisted eating the Snickers (JT's fav) cause he's speed dieting for Hawaii.

Has anyone noticed your food delivery people getting older?  JT thinks this might be an economic indicator.  Either the owners are delivering or older people are taking the gig.

JU- I have a solution for you.  Eat the rest of the candy, put the huge empty bowl on the front porch with a "PLEASE TAKE ONE" sign on it.
The neighborhood kids won't egg your house since they probably figured you had a mountain of candy that one kid snagged using the "look both ways and take the whole bowl technique."

[/quote]

JU your conclusion is wrong. Tough economic times will bring out MORE trick or treaters looking for FREE candy.

Reg,excellent advice.  A few years back, Mrs Garnet did the "please take one" technique.  Someone took all the candy AND the bowl(cheap plastic jack-o-lantern.

KS is one F-ing pissed off person this week.  KS gets a phone call late Monday afternoon from his banks fraud protection contractors.  It seems that somehow some lowlife $hit eating scumbag got a copy of KS debit card and proceeded to wipeout KS checking account over the weekend.  MKS has had to put a stop payment on several checks (why there are still doctors that won't take plastic KS can't figure out), KS has had to fill out claims reports, police reports and still has a negative balance in his account.  Bank says it will 7 to 10 days before KS gets a new debit card, up to a month or more for all the monies to be refunded.

KS figures most likely some database got hacked.  KS has always been careful how he uses his debit card, never uses stand alone ATM's like in 7-11 and place such as that.  Never throws out receipts.

Anyone in LLPP ever deal with this, any hints for getting the wheels rolling faster to get KS money back?

Port had a rough start this year but seem to be climbing back to respectability with 3 straight wins.  They'll likely make themselves eligible for the ECAC's this year.

Port vs SJF in the ECAC's anyone???

Two teams separated by 30 miles could equal big time numbers at the gate...

ECAC bowls are like minor league playoffs - nobody knows about them, everyone has previous plans, and the seats are half full.

I agree. I posted this on the E8 board, but I've always hated them. They're often played during Thanksgiving break, so a lot of kids aren't there. Half the time, you've got a disinterested team who's so dissappointed by the regular season, they phone it in.The other half of the time, one team is so angry and being left out of the NCAA's they obliterate their opponent. I've yet to see IC play a moderately entertaining ECAC game. 1998 and 2004 they were angry and destroyed people and in 1999 they had no desire to play and lost. Cortland also famously phoned one in one season after missing out following a 9-1 season.

So let me see if I read that right....

When Ithaca wins an ECAC game, they are pissed off, and when they lose an ECAC game, they have no desire to play and mail it in...Is that about right?

KS just looked fraud protection up, the bank should refund within 10 business days.  Most likely talking to people at the bank that don't know ish.

BTW...

If anyone uses their debit card for any online purchases, JT recommends paypal's secure card.  Once you hook up with paypal you can download a plug in.  Instead of using your actual card, you use your bank account with a "throw" secure credit card.  Use it for one transaction or a more, throw it away and create a new one.  Keeps companies from having direct access to your checking account, because as soon as you throw away a temporary electronic card, it can't be used.

When you use a secure card that you create and use, your account will be debited like by paypal.  Requirement is just a paypal account with back account on file.

Paypal plug in

Oh and www.lifelock.com ..... good ish also.

JT has not been paid for the previous endorsements :)

JT hasn't experienced the ATM problem KS has, but 10 days sounds more like it.  Some do it with 24 hours.  Talk to a supervisor.
