Susquehanna's Bobby Eppleman and John Lunardi made the D3football All-American second team: http://www.d3football.com/tow/08/allamericans.htm

Doing a quick skim, I see fellow LL'er Gerard Bryant from St. Lawrence on the first team as well and Justin Hager from Hobart on the second team. Ryan Aruck from Hobart made the third team. Congrats all!  :)

Agreed.  Didn't get any bites on my question as to why Hager didn't end up on the first team (IC's LB did) given he had almost 40+ tackles more than most of the other guys on the list.  Either way, great accomplishment for all the guys regardless of 1st, 2nd or 3rd team.

Well, the Boltus fan base seems more ready to crucify someone by Boltus's MIA status in the D3Football.com All-American teams -- so, in some ways, the Hager snub is muted by the Boltus snub in many people's opinions.  I can attest to the fact that the QB scenario was one in which somebody (or a few QBs) would be very unhappy with the final results.  The fact that Jimmy Robertson didn't even make the All-East team was a tough pill to swallow -- but it shows just how loaded we were at QB across the nation this season.  With LBs, you have to give some deference to the Whitewater defense first because of their ability to temper the Whitewater offense's troubles really finding a real rhythm early in the season.  That defense held Mount Union to just three points in the final three quarters (the interception return for TD was not a defensive stat) -- proving their true strength after the first quarter onslaught.

Gotta show love the the LL's All-Americans, amazing accomplishment. Anyone else find it weird to see Phelan's name on a list without Boltus's next to it? Frank nice work with the blog. It was nice to have some insight into the festivities around the game, the game itself, and other aspects that you brought forth. I enjoyed it you did a great job.

You Tube video of the day.

Hard to tell if he was playing around or actually pissed. Anyone hear anything about it? Looks like a lady got drilled with that huge snow chunk he threw. Either way the Jets flat out suck! How disappointing was yesterday for a Jets fan? Well as Broncos fan I can identify. I almost wish San Diego wins next week because Denver DOES NOT deserve to make the playoffs. It's a shame the D is atrocious and Cutler is basically out there with no help...hey sounds like Hartwick!

The Broncos suck!

Ugh.  Thankfully JT still has the Giants.  JT hopes the Fins blow out the Jets on Sunday.  Time to fire Mangini and the entire staff.  Ask Favre to retire.  If he won't retire, cut him.

1) Backup the Brinks truck and give Cowher the cash and the power.

2) Make Cassell rich.

3) Get a big play wideout

Otherwise they'll continue to tease and disappoint.

KS has the Fins and the Giants.  KS was expecting maybe 7 or 8 wins this year at best from the Fins.  This is all gravy and KS is enjoying the ride after years of incompetence.  F Jimmy Johnson and Nick Saban, Fins should have hired Bill Bates as HC instead of that tool Saban.

KS always thought that was shat.

Shat is the past tense.

I **** myself at least once a year. (present)
I shat myself yesterday. (past)
Just after I had shut myself, I realized I had no toilet paper. (perfect)

Of course, this is all BS, because in proper English 'to ****' does not change with the tenses, just as 'to hit' does not change.  But, I still like to pretend it does.  The Rev is easily entertained.

You make all Hobart alums proud with these quality posts.  k+

Thanks, TGP.  Just trying to make sure we all get our money's worth.

Jimmy needed to trade Marino.  Once he kept Marino the die was cast.

JT is happy Pennington is doing well.  Hopefully he gets revenge on Sunday.  Mangini is a tool.  How do you lose to SD,SF, Oak, and Seattle?  All he needed to do was go 2-2, and he wins the Division.

JT was always a Giants fan first.  One day JT's Dad made a sale to the Jets while they were over at Shea.  Dad asked if there were tickets available.  Jets rep said "Sure, how many do you want?"

Since the Giants waiting list is/was insane, we started going to Jets games.  We dropped Jets tickets this year.  No PSL's for us.  JT put the cash into NFL ticket, and went to two Jets and two Giants games.

We'll just pick and choose a couple games a year.

Now JT hears rumors that Rutgers is thinking PSL to help pay for the stadium expansion.   Plus JT's ticket price is expected to go from $40 to $56.  The parking is already $20, will that go to $25 or $30?

Rutgers is going to price themselves right out of the market.  A few years of success doesn't make up for the history of sucking quite yet.

Jimmy could have worked with Marino if he really tried.  Instead he tried to force Marino out by handcuffing him and treating him like a rookie.  Jimmy didn't even really try to improve the running game.  He did improve the defense and got some great players on that side, but he acted like a big baby with the offense.  Marino acted like a primma donna too, but Jimmy is ultimately responsible.  KS thinks Jimmy was just in it for the payday and when they Fins got humilated in that playoff game by Jville Jimmy went home to pout.  Jimmy is one of the biggest tools out there.

Parcells has got them going in the right direction.  When he leaves in the next two or three years he will have the staff in place to continue if the owner leaves them alone.

Teams lose sight of the viability of the aftermarket for tickets.  The ability of a season ticket holder to dump tickets at or above face value, lets many keep being ticket holders.  I mean how in the hell do you recoup a $2500 ticket to see the Yanks play the Twins.

Rutgers is going to kill the aftermarket and will eventually have empty seats.

So, as mentioned a few pages ago, The Rev finally decided to take the plunge and buy a house.

Here's the breakdown:

Prior owners bought it in late 2005 for $159,900.
In October 2008 similar house down the street sold for $137K.
The Rev is getting his for $119K, seller pays closing costs and up to $900 for termites, if necessary.

FHA loan. 3% down. 30 year fixed: 5 1/4%.  Assumable. No penalty for pre-payment.  Standard stuff.

Today paid $2,000 earnest money and $350 appraisal fee (both go toward down payment).

Will close in late January.  The Rev needs to write a check for $1,500 and he gets the keys.

Monthly payment: $829.99 inclusive.

Basically, The Rev could lose his job, work at Pizza Hut and still afford this place.

Sometimes it pays to be a contrarian.

The only rub is that The Rev's current lease isn't up until July and he must pay for the apt until it's rented out to someone new, plus pay a one month penalty.  But in the grand scheme of things, what is that when compared to owning one's own place?

Congrats Rev!

Quite the Xmas gift.  You deserve it.

Speaking of Xmas, TGP thought he'd dust off this one:

'Twas the night before Christmas', when all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even U89's computer mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Guru soon would be there;
The Futchmen were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Shoeapalooza danced in their heads;
And Mrs TGP in her 'kerchief, and TGP in my Hobart cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
TGP sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window TGP flew like the Rev running to get his flask,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the crest of the new-fallen snow
Gave the luster of supe57 to the objects below,
When, what to TGP's wondering eyes should be,
But a miniature escalade, lead by a large contingent of the LLPP,

With a little old driver, so lively like Sulu,
TGP knew in a moment it must be St. Guru.
More rapid than Enginegro eating Ruck wings they came,
And St. Guru whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:

"Now, PBR! now, JT! now, Tags and LewDogg!
On, Dewcrew! on Reg! on, Rossi and RedTackle!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now Holladawg! Holladawg! Holladawg all!"

"As dry leaves that before the wild '86 field fly,
When they meet with a Boswell, or Butterfield to the sky,
So up to the house-top the LLPPers they flew,
With the sleigh full of Daily Doses, and a K-Mack ATN too.

And then, in a twinkling, TGP heard on the roof
The ballin on a budget of each LLPPer drinking 80 proof.
As TGP drew in his hand, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Guru came with a bound.

He was dressed all in D3 gear, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of D3 prognostications he had flung on his back,
and he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
Although Garnet said he had smoked all his stash,
TGP thinks he'd cough up some if shown the cash
St Guru had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a bowl full of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And TGP laughed, in spite of himself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know TGP had nothing to dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
Laying his finger aside of his nose, he said "It's Science"
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a shout,
And away they all flew downing their Guiness car bombs and the rest of the stout.
But TGP heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight,
"MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT."
