bman

not for a long time now JT....Bman did well in 2005 and 2006, but when they changed the laws, Bman cut and ran...and left .02 in there just in case...

Bman has lots of FPP points and will enter periodic satellites in the spring, but really just plays on line now to keep his game sharp...and to ease the pain of writing 200 page business requirement docs!

Cool.  JT plays but is careful of being set up.  You get a few PM'ing hands and you get screwed.  I get worried when I'm called down when most should fold to me.

PBR-

What is the work from home option?  Why would employers hope to gain by doing this if it's on a day to day basis?  It's not like they don't need the space, since you could come in at any point.  It's not like they can make 3 less meatball subs.

Help me understand.

basically they do it to help the employee...on bad weather days or days you have a dr appt/dentist etc. or maybe have to have some kind of maintenance done to your home they allow you to work from home. basically its all good as long as you dont abuse the option. since they realized some people were burning vaca days doing this its a perk for the employees as long as they done abuse it. also they realized probably that some people were just calling out sick to have things done so they figured lets be adults about this and as long as people dont work from  home 360 days a year we will start a program to work from home if you have some valid reason

Shower + getting dressed + commuting to office = biggest waste of time (3-4 hours of productivity per day)

LD- I understand the whole productivity thing, however, there are certain people that can't work from home the way others can.  I just wanted to know if PBR's place of work was trying to set the trend for the "new workplace" (which is going to be a reality one of these days)

Think of how much money companies would waste if they told everyone that it's fair game to work at home all the time, even if others could knock out 15 emails while finishing their quizno's prime rib & peppercorn ranch

Well obviously not everyone can do it.  Most people can't because they don't have the discipline.  But, my thought is, when you have the right people in higher level positions with more responsibility, it shouldn't matter where your desk is, or which exact hours you work if your customers are happy, your work gets done, and you produce.

I hate offices so much.  I cringe at the day that i'll have to return to one.

Keeps down on traffic too.  I wonder how many offices have to operate from 8-4 or 9-5?

Dlipp... can the shocktown police department be any more embarrassing? 7 former cops in prison (including the ex chief) and 2 with pending criminal charges. The 2 most recent cases are rediculas

1. Cop caught going AWOL on night patrols after local paper sees his car at the same house multiple weeks for 4 hours at a time.  The car is equipped with GPS... but no one at the department monitors it. WTF??

2. Cop arrested for DWI and leaving the scene of an accident this week. Not really big news, but his mug shot looks like Darth Vader at the end of return of the jedi. Hilarious.

gro it is an absolute GONG SHOW here in the city that doesn't light ****! What is even carzier is the contract these cops have and the ****ing Union that is backing them. It is completely air tight and no one (not the mayor, lawyers, governer) can break it. Here is the Union leader's solid track record. http://www.dailygazette.com/news/2008/feb/01/0201_hamilton/
I just feel bad for the cops who actually do their job in the city.

HIT THE GONG!

TDT won the lottery on Friday for Mets Opening Day tickets.  Scored 4 of them this morning.  Cash is King!!!!

BTW, JT have you been bankrolling many ticket sales lately?  The market looks very strong for the Opener!!!

it's a shame. Growing up many of gro's friend's dads were cops and the department wasn't anywhere near as wild as it is now. These current wannabe "training day" tough guys have ruined the department.

The contract is a joke. The union prez only works 12 days a year, make that a standalone position (and have the union fund it) and hire another cop to fill his place. Somebody needs to get a hold of that union contract and FIX IT.

Not a lot. Sports teams have raised prices so much that it makes it hard to profit on the secondary market. JT will go see a few games at the new Yankee Stadium.  He didn't make enough profit to keep season tix.  And if they aren't gonna pay for themselves, I'm not keeping them.

Entertainment wise Buffett is on tap, and maybe The Killers. Not really interested in anything else.

The Rev loves Central NY's cost of living.  Here in AZ, a 10x15 storage unit would run the Rev over $130/month.  Just called Norwich, NY and a 10x20 will run the Rev $70/month.  How great is that?  The Rev's mom is psyched because she want to get the Rev's old bedroom emptied.  Yep.  20 years later, it's still full of The Rev's books and winter clothes.  The Rev is just stoked to pay over $60 less a month than he was expecting.  God Bless Central NY!

The other great thing is that the AZ heat won't destroy the car.  Rev's support system can go down to the unit, start it up from time to time and keep it lubed.

Rev,

Why not just sell the car?  Why Pay to keep a depreciating asset in storage that costs even more money?
If you do store it, make sure you use a gas stabilizer....fuel with ethanol has a very short shelf life....might even be worth it to run it out of gas and then you don't need to worry about someone going to start it.

Isn't this where you offer to "liquidate" all the Rev's ish from the past 30+ years on Ebay?  Sell the car, the dirty underwear, and his college textbooks....
