Simms main problem was going to Texas.  Wasn't a good QB school.
Texas hasn't been a good QB school since Bobby Layne!   :D

But did he go to Texas for football or drinking?

C'mon now, folks. He went to Texas for the academics.

Warren actually said that with a straight face.

Of course I said it with a straight face. He went to Austin for intellectual edification and stimulation; football and imbibing were but pleasant distractions from the rigors of the classroom.

If not for CNN's breathless coverage The Rev would never have known it happened.  Rev was busy drinking beer with friends and doing laundry.

One of the Rev's friends said that he sold the remainder of his mutual funds just before the weekend in case they tanked because of the launch.  The Rev and Rev's friend then ate lunch.  We were all that unconcerned about it.

The Japanese seem more bent about it than anyone else.  Truth be known, if the Koreas ever reunite, the first place they are going to look for a fight is Japan.  There's an old score to settle and The Rev thinks the Japanese realize that with one of the Koreas having nuclear weapon technology, the payback will be a b*tch for their brutal occupation of Korea from 1905-1945.

Here's a mildly interesting one: The Rev e-mailed a dood at USCG HQ asking if there is anything The Rev could do to stay active in the USCG Auxiliary while in Korea.  It was  a shot in the dark, but the reply came back affirmative.  USCG just got a request from KCG asking for help to stand up their own Aux organization.  The Rev is the man on the ground for the project.  How many guys can say they helped a nation stand up a volunteer paramilitary organization?  Not many.  To quote the contemporary American philosopher, Paris Hilton, "That's Hot!"

That's cool.  Do the fit birds respond well to a man in uniform?

We shall see.  The Rev just ordered a new uniform from the Uniform Distribution Center in NJ.  It will arrive in a few weeks, at which time The Rev will go to the Best Hong Kong Tailor Shop behind the now-closed Camp Hialeah and have Mr. Kim do the alterations and have it custom fit so Rev looks extra sharp.  (The Rev knows better than to write a run-on sentence like that. Sorry.)

At that point, let the experiment begin.

South Korea still has conscription, so every dude has to join the military straight out of high school or sometime during college.  Most of them look like doofuses walking around in their uniforms...except for the ROK Marines.  Those guys are hardcore.

It will be interesting to see if The Rev gets saluted by these E-1~E-4s while walking down the street to his meetings.

I sometimes wash my hands before doing #1 or #2.  Especially at Rest Areas if I had to touch a door, have shaken anyone's hands, or if I've recently eaten or am sick.  I do NOT like to touch my junk with filthy hands.  Who knows who else might touch that later...

Attention Enginegro....You will LOVE this video.  It is reminiscent of when we used to listen to old school rap while watching cartoons, with lots of snacks around...

KS usually washes before and after, comes from KS days working with his hands.  Don't want to touch your stuff with grease on your hands.  KS worked with one kid who did not wash after milling aluminum, kid got sliver of metal in unit, unit got infected, kid suffered, kid suffered even worse when we found out about it.

JT will do the double wash because some of the people we deal with on a daily basis are pretty disgusting (messengers, delivery people, truck drivers etc.).  Then use paper towel on door to exit the head.  Also JT doesn't want to touch Mr. Happy with dirty hands either.
