Since the New England Patriots are the only team that really matters in the NFL, I'm curious as to who the clowns here from Boston (ie., LD11, Utah) feel the Pats will scoop up at #23.

U89 is hoping for OLB, Clay Matthews out of USC.....the kid comes from a great program and has very strong pedigree.

Peter King is also stating that the Pats may be looking to package #23 and a second rounder to move into the top 10.......U89 loves the NFL draft.

Yea I heard that the Pats might package up those picks for Jacksonvilles #8 pic.

Jon Meterparel actually has a funny look at the draft on WEEI.com.  (maybe only funny if you listen to WEEI)

http://www.weei.com/shows/dennis-callahan/meters-mock-draft

But I still think the Pats need some oline help and should get one of the Tackles from Alabama, Baylor or Virginia if they can.  Those guys might not be available at 8 though if they want them.

But from having the big 10 network (in HD) and watching random 2008 big ten football games throughout the winter, I do really like Aaron Maybin from Penn St.  I think he would be a great outside LB in the 3-4, and can play the end in a 4-3 as well.   The only questions people are having about the guy are his small hips and inabliity to keep on weight to play at the next level.   But he is a redshirt sophmore, only 21 and the guy that I think the Patriots will draft in 2009.

PBR, anything else to add on this guy?  And kind of a funny thing, but I looked on youtube for highlights for the guy and found no highlights of him or even Penn State in 2009!?  They must not let them use any of the tape but I thing they should at least release clips of their #1 draft pick.

EDIT: I did find this decent highlight clip of Maybin.

I thought the comparison to Tony Mandarich meant that you were going to drink TONS of juice today and act like a complete dick.....

LD11 usually has the acting like a dick part covered......zzzzzzzzing

TGP is going to give the nod to the NFLN over ESPN re: draft coverage.

JT

Mostly good moves by many teams, but the Al Davis needs to be committed.  Worst draft has to be the Radahs.

PBR...

pbr is digging the eagles draft...they got "blazing" speed and are now much younger w/ a host of weapons on offense...throw in the peters trade and andrews OL signing and a very solid off season of moves and drafts...including the hobbs trade...samuels/hobbs on the corners now thx to the patriots

That bit day long bit that ESPN did with Quan Cosby and Bill Cosby on day two was sad.  Kid spent all day with the aging jokester because they shared a last name but weren't related.  Bill had a gig in North Jersey, so ESPN dragged Quan to NJ hoping he'd get drafted and have some giggles with Bill.  Every time they cut to the chick reporter, Quan and Bill, it just got more sad.

Bill doing some stupid joke in wearing a Temple helmet, Quan mustering a laugh, and reporter chick looking out of it.  Quan put on a good face, but you could tell he was just being polite towards days end.

Checking the web it looks like Quan signed an FA contract with the Bengals after the draft.

Agreed.  That was awful.  Bill Cosby wasn't even funny.... SF was wondering what he was on.

Quan has a good opportunity to 'stick' with the Bengals.  The two WR draft picks from 2008 (Jerome Simpson, Andre Caldwell) had trouble adapting to the professional game last year, TJ Housh-manzilly is gone and they only added L.Coles from the Jets so far..

If given a choice, wouldn't you rather be able to sign as a free agent with a team that you can stick with... rather than be a late round choice of a team with a logjam at the position?

That reporter chick (erin andrews) didn't look as good as she normally does..

This skit was never funny and seemed uncomfortable for all 3 involved.

Especially when she said he was sleeping and he hit her in the arm and said "Can it Goldilocks".  Erin Andrews didn't deserve that!
