Dead were great last night, sounded great.  Warren Haynes fits in very nicely, they are different but still the same, it is still the Dead.  The Fat Man would approve.  I am not sure how often he has shown up but last night during the second song a bunch of saxes were brought out on stage and then a sax player showed up, it was Branford Marsalis.

Great show, they started about 7:45 and played until after 9, took about a 20 minute break and played to 11:30.  Drum solo was incredible, done a lot of electronics, almost Dead meets Floyd.

KS was next to the obligatory Dead Head road warrior.  Friendly enough but completely f'ed up.  Started the rhythm less whiteboy hippie dance, kept banging into KS and others.  GF finally told him to be careful, hippie got pissed, smoked bowl, proceeded to pass out halfway through the first set and woke up during the encore.  GF was cute, shaved, bathed and no patchouli, and fed up.  Told KS during break that he does this everytime.  He passed out in buffalo, long island, at the garden and last night.

KS also can't understand bringing babies to a concert.  How can you bring a toddler to a Dead show that is indoors.  These people are making their kids sit inside a bong basically.  KS was talking to a NJ State Trooper while waiting for a beer, trooper was disgusted by the F'ed up people walking around with kids begging for food or money for food for the kids.  Trooper said there was nothing they could do  but keep a real close eye on these people.  He was looking for any reason to call child services.  KS then asked trooper what happens if they get drug tested after working a show like this.  Trooper laughed and said, they always note the sample working a concert.  Cop said so far he had one false positive from a Jay-Z concert a couple of years ago.

The only other band KS has seen where there was such a wide range of ages, where everyone knew all the lyrics to all the songs is KISS.

KS glad to hear the Dead show was solid. I am glad they are getting out and also glad to hear that Warren Haynes did a nice job. Branford marisalis is awsome I have seen him come in and play with the samples before and he can just work in with any type of music, I wish I was there to see him play with the Dead. I had heard he was going to be making appearences. In mu opinion from my experience (especially attending UVM where the average hippie looked like he came from the street yet drove daddies Range Rover) my friends and I came up with some #'s regarding Hippies:

% 's are as follows:

50% are totally full of **** and are in a faze where they attempt to get as ****ed up as possible to gain "Hippie" status and convince other Hippies they are the "real" thing and fully educated on all "hippie" causes.

25% remain from the previous 50% but are over 30 and have the maturity and intellect of a 7 year old boy. They raise kids around drugs and in poverty, pretend they live on a ****ing commune, and don't even know what they believe in anymore.

15% Are an interesting bunch, they are the "Thug" hippies. I have not seen any since i returned to NY but for some reason they were gaining in popularity in Burlington. They come across all peacful and happy yet always want to fight anyone they can. *To qualify they must be accomponied by a pit bull.

10% Are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Although I very rarely see eye to eye with them on most political and/or social issues they are polite, well educated, and caring.

Just my take KS. Glad you had a ncie time!

This just in:
Hobart and Alfred are "in discussions" re: a game on Oct. 17 according to TGP's sources in Geneva.

Stay tuned.

Should AU and Hobart agree, a Saxon trip to the Boz would give both schools five home games and five away games. Plus, a trip to Geneva is a cheap fun road trip for the AU Pep Band.

On Saxon Warriors!

What's the good word from Geneva, TGP? Will the Saxons and Statesmen get together Oct. 17, 2009 at Boswell Field?

Pep - Still no word yet.  Will keep the LLPP posted.

PA - Thx for the update re: Kimber (albeit bad news as you said) and the incoming class of Bart ballers.  Good luck down south.  I know a couple of fellow Hobartians who've lived in Hotlanta for about 10 years now and both love it.

Fortunately for you and TGP there's WEOS online so you can keep tabs on the team that way.

TGP is 99% certain he'll be able to attend the Union game in Shocktown in October while back east for the annual Bart rock band reunion up in Saratoga.  Last year we covered Synchroncity and some other tunes.  TGP also covered about 2 bottles of JD so it was fun from what I can remember.

Ah, college......

Burlington Vt.

A man was robbed at gunpoint today on Main Street. The victim described the attackers as "thug hippies". The main attacker was about 6 feet tall, 160 pounds, wearing birkenstocks and a drug rug. His accomplice was 5'5", wearing a "Jerry Lives" t-shirt, tattered shorts and had a wallet chain.

A K-9 unit was able to track the two men using a hacky sack left at the scene. Police were able to recover the stolen wallet, and confiscated massive amounts of drug paraphernalia and a set of bongos stolen from a local music store last month.

Wallet chain is only useful when riding your bike and if you are an equipment operator.

todays random bathroom thoughts/sightings...

1. Who wipes green (sometimes bloody) boogers on the wall? have any of the llpp'rs ever done this? what is the reasoning behind it? although several of pbr's coworkers have stated it gives them something to look at while standing at the urinal...

2. Signage spotted in bathroom stalls (true story) .... " Please put used toilet paper in toilet and flush. Do not put it on the floor. Thanks "  wtf...who puts used t.p. on the floor? nasty...cant imagine any llpprs have done this...no? crazy world

No, you would definately notice SR or P-n-F....these people strategically place said "items" right in front of you...typically off to the right so you see them and dry heave until you are finished using the facilities.  Ususually happens in not so professional places, PBR, surprised you witnessed this!

Used TP on the floor....never saw that one.

exactly...public restrooms u usually see this NOT in a professional building...we even have a team of full time cleaning service people that do nothing but go bathroom to bathroom all day cleaning them. yet people still do this like they are in high school like reg says they put them right at eye level so you have to look them.....

RE: TP on the floor

pretty disgusting... Tags work does however have a sign of a talking garbage can saying "please put all paper towels in the garbage and not on the floor"

Apparently some folks just need a quick reminder.
