What kind of job were you training for?  Turnip farming?  But wow that brings back some memories as I had to drive through Greene on the way to Ithaca.  Thats the place iwith the two roads going through the middle of town and parking on each side right?  Bainbridge, Sydney, Triangle, Whitney Point, Caroline, Lisle......man what a trip!

I read a book on Rockefeller once and he actually grew up (or was born) in one of those real small towns around there. (richford I just looked up).  I bed Richford looks the same today as it did in 1839.

HA...    I was training to sell electric forklifts for The Raymond Corp (owned by Toyota).  They are the biggest employer of Greene.  You're correct about the parking on the sides of the street.  SF thought he was on set at Back to the Future -- only smaller.  Funnier still is the bowling alley (4 lanes -- the bar was larger) and "Airport Bar" just outside of town (had to take a dirt road to it).   The hotel felt like it was set in the 1800s

I'm lucky I was only there for 4 months.

The Rev has to defend the honor of Chenango County and go on record that he thinks Greene is a swell town.  Very pretty and they are fortunate to be much closer to Binghamton than Norwich is.  Slightly more action is an easy drive away.

Also, a high school friend of The Rev owns the pizza place there.

Yea I didn't want to make it seem like I didn't like the town.  Greene is one of the nicer upstate towns.....triangle on the other hand.....Im not so sure...

alright all u losers....pbr's bro in law is headed to SHOCKTOWN right now for 2 days!! he has never been there what are some of the sights to see? places to eat....etc... etc...

Well pbr where do I start? First I would visit the police station for an example of honesty, integrity, and hard work (shot only aimed at the derelect cops not the good ones) and then I would take in a crooked school board meeting and meet with the superintendent about his so-called "contingency" budget which planned to be 5, yes 5 million dollars more than the buget the city voted down. Make sure to also meet with the school board president whom used the head of the custodial department to literally "bomb" peoples homes who he disagreed with him on any issue. By the way this man (Steve Raucci) has been denied bail again and is being charged with "terroism". From there you can go up Hamilton street to the "heart" of Shocktown and visit some amazing sites that will entertain you for sure! Honestly I would consider the following for a good dinner: Ferrari's restaurant (affordable), Cornell's restaurant (more expensive but good), if you are here before 2pm on Friday and get a chance go to Peter Pause for lunch and get some of the best macaroni and/or chicken parm, meatballs, etc outside of my mothers kitchen for a very affordable price. If you want some directions or other specific info send me a message and I'll give you some better thoughts.

So JU got shut off (from a bar) for the first time in his life last night.

So JU and MJU go to this afterwork bar/restuarant place near where I live for some dinner and drinks at the bar.  Its a nice place and they always have different kinds of beer that I like.  The redsox were playing so I was planning to eat, and then stay at the bar for a couple beers and then go home.  We get there around 7, eat, and I have a few beers.

I started out with a weinstephener on draft.  Its a heavy wheat beer and is kind of strong but I had only one:

Then I had 3 Wittekerkes, a belgian wheat beer (from the can I should add) and they were really good.  Might be one of my new favorite beers.  A little light for a wheat beer, but very smooth"

Then I have two "Dales Pale Ale", also from the can.  I also liked Dales.  Good solid IPA from the Rocky mountains:

So after the two Dales, its about 9 pm, and we are about to leave.  Its my only night off for the next week so I decide to have one more before I leave.  I live 10-15 minutes away, wasn't too bad to drive, and my wife could have drove anyway as she had only ordered 2 beers.  So I ask the bartender for one more Dales.  I could already tell she was trying to ignore me on the last two drinks I ordered, and so she comes up to me and says something like "errr, well....youve already had six and im not really supposed to...."  So I cut her off and tell her that its my last one, Im not driving and I was paying the bill right after.  So she looks around the bar like someone was watching her and finally gives me my last (and 7th beer).

Is this that much to drink to get shut off at a bar?  And these weren't big beers, they were out of the can.  Granted they were slightly higher in alcohol, but nothing crazy.

I did notice that there was this woman sitting next to me that was writing something down on some paper like a menu or something so she might have been the owner or something and the bartender didnt want to do anything she was told not to do....

I dunno, just was kind of wierd.

You're a marked man now, JU.  Next thing you know there will be a photo of you behind the bar with a warning not to serve you.

The Rev's current GF just bought a fancy bar a couple weeks ago.  The Rev visited the other night and was treated to Johnny Walker Blue Label--free.

Well, free for The Rev.  The Korean dude who bought it paid 600,000 won (~$480) for the bottle.  We also had several platters of food, copious Budweiser, and sand karaoke.  The Rev sang a couple songs in Korean like a well-trained monkey.  By the end of the night, said Korean dude dropped about $2,000 on booze and drinks.  then he gave each chick a $100 tip for the honor of being able to rub their thighs while drinking.  The Rev didn't get a tip.  Then again, he never rubbed my thigh, so I guess it's OK.

The Rev may have hit the jackpot with this gal.  Just think, The Rev can have JWBL and free grub every weekend.  He gets to entertain the patrons and hang out with a couple fit birds while doing it.

Now if The Rev could just convince her to get a gigundo-screen TV with ESPN on satellite he would be all set.

Roll into an IRA?

Roll into an IRA with a broker.  Are you confident enough to trade your own account?  With a little training.... 25% 30%... more per year is easy with little risk.

JT can recommend a good one.

Actually, JT does better.  But anyone can do 25% a year trading stocks.  Essentially it just entails finding stocks that are overbought or oversold, hop on and ride for $0.50, $1.00, $2.00 etc., up or down.  Tight stops $0.75 - $1.00 loss.

I let my PC find em using my own criteria, and then I narrow it down to stocks with good fundamentals (no companies with long term negative news or balance sheets), off quarter, off year OK.  How many companies are having an off year? I wouldn't go for three down years in a row.

There's a little more to it, Knowing how to short (and not being afraid to short), Japanese candle stick charts, technical indicators, sector news but it ain't rocket science.  Everyone in this room has passed harder math courses.

Most of the tools are free.  JT's may write a course and maybe do some free youtube vids as teaser when he gets free time.  Right now JT is too busy.

Note: Shorting stocks is not allowed in IRA's or Retirement accounts.  Put options can be bought, but options trading requires mucho mucho knowledge.

But you can trade currencies on forex market, and commodities on the futures market. Go figure

Little risk means JT already determined how much he's willing to lose on each trade.  Usually no more than $1.00 per share under $25 per share and no more than $2.00 over $50 per share.  JT's looking for that quick move a few days, 1 week, 1 month.
