LLPPers,

SF was asking about non-competes and whatnot a few weeks back.  Just to update.  Two days removed from moving on from that company.  I'm sure the non-compete is going to come into play very shortly... but so far, all of SF's customers have gone with him.

SF kinda feels like Jerry McGuire... "the fish, they're coming with me"...

well done SF....serve your customers well and they will stick with you.

It was great...  one let me listen in as he took a call from them.  I know I provided an exceptional service, but we didn't expect this kind of loyalty, afterall my old co is top 5 company nationally in transportation.  Weird --You aren't really sure about who will go with you until the dust settles --

If you are reading this KS, give me a call or shoot me an email on here.

Stim thinks the LL crown is wide open.  Besides all the pro Union chatter from D. and Hobart discussion, not really sold on either though it appears the title will once again
most likely be one of them or RPI.

Hobart has lost some seasoned talent defensively and based on the only game I saw them play against RPI (negative yards for nearly 3 quarters) they aren't stacked offensively.

D. and I can go on and on re: Union.  Yes they have some skill players back but I don't see this year as the one to return to the top of the league. Coney is a good back, the QB is skilled, I like Gallo but they will miss McKelligan and Gourier goes invisible for parts of games.

To answer the QB ? posed earlier re: RPI, looks like an open competition between the back-up last year who was W. NY POY, a transfer from Army who enrolled in Jan and went through spring ball, or an incoming freshman from Avon Old Farms via South Carolina.  The latter two have size at 6'4" and 6'6".

If they get steady play from under center (can you still say that today with all the shotgun formations today?) they will be good as they have a strong returning nucleus (16 returning starters).  If they get
good play from the QB position they will win alot of games.

All this football talk is making my head spin. Will you guys please get back to the topics that really matter to the LL?

By the way, where is RT? Is he hanging with Halla Dawg?

More fun Jersey City just a few blocks from KS house.  KS wondered about the noise and sirens early this morning.

Stim the question of the RPI QB is very interesting. I have a feeling though that it will follow the pattern of the last 8 years...whomever takes the snaps for the Engineers will most likely overachieve in his/her (ha ha) first year and continue to have nasty field vision and leadership skills as their experience grows. In many ways ****ing RPI has become a QB school with some fantastic QB's coming out of that school in the past decade and more. So I guess I shall assume that whomever the starter is going to be is going to be very very good. Hence as always RPI definitely in the mix for the LL title.

Hobart ranked #16 by USA Today

TGP also thinks Bart is the LL team to beat going into the season but think the U will definitely be improved and could do some damage.

TGP isn't sure about Vella given he was really good in the RPI game but terrible against Rochester (albeit the Boz was a typical late Nov quagmire).

RPI seems like it has the biggest shoes to fill with Robertson and co having graduated, but their D is still nasty and returning some good athletes.

PBR...

pbr is sparking up the lamp early today as another weeks vaca looms tomorrow...go get some u freaks...

Vella hasn't done enough to be a sure thing, but I'm giving him a mulligan on Rochester.  That field (and the Lyco game) was worse than anything I ever played on in my years there.  I got sick from sitting in the stands in the pouring rain for two hours.  He had the corner at least three times for runs and completely lost his feet from the mud on plays where a halfway decent field he would've picked up at least 30 yrds (collectively) and you couldn't throw the ball, his jersey was completely brown three plays in.

Considering Bart's QB's this decade of Swanson, Mizro, Strom and Doyle, I'd say that Vella will be closer to the former three than Doyle in performance.  He really looks a lot like Strom and I think that's the type of QB DeWall wants for his system since he's become OC (for better or worse).  Bart's running game struggled all year and I think part of that was the play calling, but I was really impressed with both Marlier and Tritten in the Lyco game and think they should perform a lot better this year, but we'll see.  Marlier seems like he needs 15 - 20 carries, which he wasn't getting with Hobaica and Tritten is a quick little bastard, who could be that 10 carry guy to complement him.  This SO, Simon, from FL was supposed to be a good recruit as a FR last year and I believe he was banged up, but he might contribute too.  In the spirit of fifth year guys at an expensive private school, Zach Schulz is coming back this season.

TGP has heard of Simon as well.  He was a standout tailback at Taft (Prep in CT).

Although TGP would prefer Hobart to develop/recruit a true feature back (ala Blakowski, Brandon, etc), TGP is certainly fine with the current roster.  Marlier did come into his own the last few games of the season.

TGP is cautiously optimistic on Vella.  It will be interesting to see how the kid fares.

As usual Dickinson will be a good test.  Although they finished 6-4 last year they were in every game (lost to us and McDaniel by a TD, Hopkins by 2, and Muhlenberg - back when the Mules were in the top 5-10 - by 6).

come on... another RPI win would make it 4 in a row... An entire union class that has never beat RPI? Old men in sweater vests would be calling for Audino's head!

If you see this car creeping down Lenox Road, duck.
