baseball just needs to publish the list and get this over with....otherwise this is never going to go away so people can move on....

-- Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz were
among about 100 Major League Baseball Players who tested
positive for performance-enhancing drugs in 2003, the New York
Times reported, citing unnamed lawyers with knowledge of the
results.

dlippiel concurrs one hundred percent pbr. He is so tired of these ****ing cheating primadonas being protected. dlippiel is fully aware the test was supposed to be annoymus but he feels that once you cheat, and/or break the law, annoymus goes out the ****ing window. Earlier this season dlippiel was acting all self-rightous making empty threats about boycotting MLB because he feels Bug Selig is disgraceful, the players Union is even worse than his teacher's Union (which is hard) and many of the players are spoiled brats who let both America's youth and the game of baseball down. Yet once dlippiel realized he loves watching the Yanks, loves the game of Baseball (almost as much as football but not quite), and shouldn't throw stones so much he shut up a bit. If these guys made 30,000$ a year dlippiel would be much more understanding of the players positions on performance-enhancing drugs. dlippiel just feels that when one rakes in the amount of money for playing a ****ing game that these guys do and are in hte national spotlight for all to see they should be a bit more responsible.

You know what though... one begins to recognize the truly great careers and the natural decline with age. Mussina is now a first ballot at HOF 277-161 including post season for a .632 winning pct. Jeter is certainly a first ballot. There are others but since JT is a Yankee fan who hasn't eaten dinner yet, players from other teams are escaping him.

Mussina should go in with an Oriole hat on.

Jeter's overrated.  Unless you are comparing him with Luis Aparacio or Nellie Fox.

Yankees SUCK.

Who do you guys think the Hall of Famer is that Canseco is talking about?  My thought...maybe Cal Ripken Jr?

dlip...my gripe with your post is if they made $30K/year, they probably wouldn't care so much, but when you had all this pressure, and millions and millions of dollars for being the best, some went and made bad decisions.  I don't think it is right, BUT, it was not banned in MLB, and when Camminiti said most of the players in the league were on the juice, no one listened, but now he probably wasn't far off.

I think the 'anonymous' tests coming out is BS.  Most of those guys took the test willingly BECAUSE it was anonymous, and now they are getting bit by it.  Someone is toying around with MLB, at this rate, release the entire list and stop name dropping every few months to ruin specific guys.  It is a witch hunt.

Man that would be awful if it was Ripken, I can't see him getting pulled into this though. Didn't he have some harsh comments for these clowns who were ruining the integrity of the game? He probably would have stayed mum if he juiced.

Agree with you, it's definitely BS to name drop every few months - some toolbox is picking his spot and dropping dime on these guys. Somebody should take the bull by the horns and just release the entire list - get it over with and move on.

Although I would not be suprised at all if Ortiz was on that list, I have one question...

Why would any MLB player agree to take drug tests for some anonymous list?  Are you kidding me?  Did the lawyers allow this?  Did the union allow this?  Even if it wasn't illegal, these guys knew what was at stake right?

Knightstalker

KS was watching beisbol tonight and they were talking about this.  They said the players agreed to the test, knew when the test would be, and knew that if a certain percentage tested positive they would be subject to random testing.

If you know all this, How can you be STOOPIT enough to fail the test?

Also why did they agree to allow the tests to be labeled.  The union should have demanded blind testing or no testing.  It is very easy to use randomly generated numbers to label the tests for tracking.

JT notice after my post last night who pitched another very good game? Yes Mr. Joba.  Maybe he really is beginning to turn a corner?

Dogg why on earth would anyone even take a test if it was anonymous? Think about it, if you were doing some junk and someone came to you and said listen my Dogg take this test but don't worry it'll be anonymous but if caught it could ruin your rep would you do it?I'd be like, **** you man I am not taking ****. These idiots had to know the tests would surfice at some point. I hear what your saying but I just don't feel these guys deserve an inch. I know there is pressure, pressure that I may not even be able to handle BUT I am not making millions of dollars. When you make that much money and play a game that is sacred to this country I just feel you should be held to a much higer standard than others. At the very leaset not take illegal drugs. There really is so much to it though and like I said earlier I think when I was being so self rightous about it I needed to simmer.

U89 told you fools that the Arturo Gatti story smelled......in all honesty, it still does.

How about the crazy story about the chick getting the baby cut out of her womb from U89's beautiful hometown??  Crazy world.....

Gatti's wife reportedly took out $350K a day or two before he died.  I just don't buy it.
