well its that time of yr again thought id make an appearance. I talked to my friend at Brown who plays DE for them says the scrimmage went well Union played well but after first quarter Brown only played 3rd and 4 stringers. I think thats better anyways...who wants to break a collarbone before the season opener that would really suck.

I think its great that Union and Ithaca are playing this yr. I have great memories of them back in 05-06 and their fans wearing bright yellow jackets saying obnoxious things even though their team got m.s. at good ol frank bailey.

Play hard. Play confident boys.

I meant Yale not Brown...

Anybody think that Richard Seymour is pissed about the trade to the Raiders and told his agent to get him traded to another AFC East team?  KS thinks Seymour may want revenge.

Always room for aging "stars" in Buffalo!

Man, looking at the write-up on the Union/Ithaca game on Unionathletics.com, both offensive lines are MASSIVE.  Both lines average close to 6'2"-6'3", 280 lbs.

Means little if you don't have talent, but we will see who has more on Saturday.

Go Dutchmen!!!

IC's line is a little green after gradumating some starters last year but I still think it is a strong suit for this team.  Union's big DE makes me a little worried though.  Hopefully he ends up lining up across from Queener (IC's lone returning starter and former 1AA player).

PBR...

now come on jqv...if your a def. coordinator are u going to line him up on the lone returning starter or flop him to where the weakness is........

I am always astonished by that PBR but it happens a lot.  I know next-to-nothing about DLine technique but, are some guys just pre-disposed to some spots?

Seems like the Bucs are always having this problem and are unwilling to rotate guys to different spots.  Like I said, I have no idea why that is.

Both Union DE's are pretty experienced, although both are a bit on the smallish side.

I thought I read in kickoff that one of them was a stud that packed on 35 pounds.

Dewcrew,
No +1K for you this week......Ithaca in a MonkeyStomp??  U89 honestly doesn't see it....this will be a one touchdown game either way.

dlippiel

Here is the article from the Yale scrimmage from Yale athletics. The Dutch seemed to be held on O and the D was spotty. Gave up a 35 yard TD run on the first play from scrimmage. Not sure what all this means. dlip thinks the U had some positives and negatives and hopefully the scrimmage served as some game experience for the U considering IC has already got one in their belt.

Sometimes DEs can rush better from the left or right, and other times DEs can rush better against a tackle or TE.  Many teams will flip the DE towards or away from strength, field, TE, or a specific WR out of the backfield.

Id say most DEs will stay on one side or the other however.

And Im assuming that the Union DE is an outside man in the 3-4?
