There's a lot of abuse of the karma feature across the board. This is just one step we're taking to counter that.

Gro hates beating a dead horse -- or punching a dead donkey so to speak -- but DI-A needs a playoff... the only reason Gro has been watching these meaningless (meaningless to people like me who aren't fans of either team) bowl games this week is because they were on HDTV.

open letter to comcast cable... thanks for HDTV, now please add FOX and ABC to your line up.

4. Has this ever happened to you?.... you catch some trim out of the corner of your eye. Naturally your head swings in that direction and you realize that said girl is somewhere in the 13 age range. Usually the father is nearby. Guilt sets in... then you blame the parents for letting their daughter dress in a short skirt and hooker boots.

JT can relate.  On JT's way into NYC from Dirty Jersey he drives past the Fashion Institute of Technology (college) and often catches glimpses of well decked out honey's on the way to class.  All are at least 18.

Not more than a few minutes later he passes the Manhattan Fashion Industries H.S. All the "women" look older than they probably are.

As the weather gets warmer,  JT hits a daily fashion show of the skimpiest outfits.  Girls never dressed like this when JT went to HS and college.  From April through June, JT tries to time his drive to hit the maximum amount of red lights from FIT to FIHS.

Knightstalker has to drive within one block of North Bergen High every day while dropping off the stalkerette with the baby sitter.  During the warm months this is very dangerous territory to drive through, all the latinas look older than they actually are.

Speaking of Dirty Jersey, Garnet was bummed to hear that Rutgers lost last night.  Garnet watched a little of the game and from what he saw he thought it was Rutgers' game to lose.  When the score was 27-24 Rutgers, Garnet had to turn in for the night.  Garnet is happy to see Rutgers has turned it around and hopes they can continue improving.

JU was not unhappy that Rutgers lost last night, but he was unhappy that they only lost by 5.

Regulator

Reg was enthusiastic to write a post about all the stuff he got but didn't want for christmas.  How disappointing that the stuff he did get was all necessary.

For all the people that act like Sirius and XM are great....you're wrong...it's ok, but don't expect Reg to go into depression if the thing craps out for a month.  It basically multiplies the stations on your radio by 4X.  If you live in an area with alot of good channels, you are fine.  If you live in the hills (and are reading this post over dial-up), then get satellite radio. (and somehow a broadband connection)

Regulator has been paying $50 a month for home telephone service for about a year now....he has probably made close to 10 calls on his home phone over this same period of time on said phone.  While he doesn't want to cancel it altogether (Mrs. Reg for WHATEVER reason, gives out the home phone to people when she makes appointments) dropped it down to the crack head rate.

Maybe he should just add-a-line onto mrs. regs sprint plan and transfer the home # to that.

Does anyone here pay for something that they NEVER use?

Yea how about paying for the 812 other directtv channels that I dont watch, like lebanese MTV or the friggin Mongolian ski network.

Gro's old apartment in Tampa was constructed out of anti cellular materials (one step outside and it worked) so he paid $30/mo for a land line.  Never used the thing and only received calls from telemarketers and some little kid who always asked if 'justin' was there until Gro went ballistic on him after the 8th time he called in a week.

Other than that, the gym membership is the only thing Gro's not getting his full dollars worth out of... but that'll change soon... yeah next week... next week is it.

Gro, in Boston now, its impossible to even get a minumum landline for less than 75 bucks a month.  I called the telephone company and asked them what the cheapest plan was.  They told me they had a plan that had no outgoing calls except for 911 and the only incomming calls allowed were from telemarketers.  All for only $166 a month.

Even 1-900-MIX-ALOT didn't work.

LD11 luckily has his employer picking up the phone bill and Broadband Internet at his house.  If not, LD11 would not have a home line.  All I have is some Southern folk calling it asking for Robert.  i think Robert was in some line of business which isn't highly regarded where i grew up...

So based on 'Gro's comments about the gym....

My biggest pet peeve in the world, especially back when i was a committed gym-goer, was the 'New Years Resolution Gym Membership'.  Nothing pissed of LD11 more than thr 'NYRGM'.  All these fat asses would show up for like 2 months, take up all the machines, stink the place up, leave sweat everywhere, make lines at the water bubbler, and just straight up irritate LD11.  I always believed there should be a secret room at every gym, that newcomers have to workout in.

First, there should be testing.  If a 'new-comer' pases all cardio and strength tests, he/she can automatically go to the real gym.  Everyone else has to stay in the beginner gym for a minimum of 2 months, has to go a minimum of 3 days a week, and reach a certain set of testing goals.  If said minimum requirements are not met, the member will stay in the beginner gym until so.

This will weed out the pretenders.  You know there are aabout 75% of new NYRGM's that get most of there use in the 1st 2 months, and are either cancelled or paid for without use in the following months.

Thanks for the info Pat. The vote has been cast. Hard to pass up MUC/Linfield but Gro went for the obvious.

The newcomers kill me. Just the other day there was this girl on the cable cross doing random excersices that didn't benefit a single muscle. there was no rhyme or reason for her actions. and she only had 1 plate on the machine.

My other pet peeve are the so called 'circuit trainers' who go from machine to machine and do 1 set of 10. There is a right way to circuit train and that is not it. The worse part is this time & space wasters usually tote around a personal trainer who holds the clipboard and talks on his/her cell phone.

$30 per mo. for the crack head service on the landline.  Have the cable bundle with internet and phone.  Since the cable phone doesn't work if the power is out, JT kept the basic landline to keep the future Mrs. JT happy.

$75 per mo. (with two more years to go) student loan for Computer training in Oracle and various Microsoft certifications that JT has little use for now that he's in sales.

JT n' gal have plenty of workout equipment at home and have dropped the $90 per month paid to the gym.  Consistent use of home equipment has been lacking in 2005.
