Maxpower,  if you are going to come over from another board to talk trash about a non-LL team, you must at least speak the LLPP dialect.  Thus, The Rev corrects your post:

"Cortland dlipping sucks!!"

That is all.

Dallas. Live in a suburb with doctors, lawyers, etc., thought they would be indifferent, that it was just Friday Night Lights type of towns that went crazy over football. Nope, it's pretty much every town in Texas. Parents fawning over 16 year old boys, praying their daughter will be cheerleaders or Belles, hoping they can date one of the football players, the stories I hear about what Matthew Stafford got away with in this town (makes Urban Myer seem like a hardass), DAMN, I missed out!

SF played a game in college against Howard Payne U in Brownwood TX.  We played at Brownwood HS's field.... Holy 'ish... SF has never seen a high school stadium that big.... and I'm positive there are bigger.

Doid,

It will be either Brian Kelly or Urban Meyer next year in South Bend.  Whichever one they get, will be a 5 million dollar man..

U89- Navy does deserve congrats.. But Notre Dame should NEVER lose to Navy.  Never.  See ya later, front butt chuck

Oh, if you could just make it so. But I agree with pumpkinattack, I dig Gary Patterson. The guy certainly deserves a shot at the big time.

Yeh, it's pretty damn crazy down here. When my third grade son played flag football last year, the coach said that they were running the high school offense. I laughed, until someone later told me that EVERYONE runs the high school's offense. Oh, and that there's a rogue league north of town that runs tackle football for second graders. Except, it's not really "rogue" because everyone has their kids play.

ND fans can forget about urban....when urban was poking around there before he asked ND to lower their academic standards a little bit so he could get his type of athletic players into the school for his system. ND admins balked at the idea and strongly said no thanks. pbr still isnt even convinced the round mound of chuck is gone. Its a ton of money for ND to eat. Although there seems to be rumors of ND going after Harbaugh at Stanford. He has turned around a bad program that has strong academics i.e. what he would inherit at ND.

The real problem with this game? It's just tough to work up any anger or conviction against the Sasquatch people, they all seem so damn nice. And sure, there leaving the LL, but not for better competition, or any unhappiness with how they were treated, just thought it would be better for everyone this way. Now, if this was Ithaca? Easy. RPI? Need you ask? Hobart? The trip to nowhere to play on a field that smells like manure (I wonder if it still does) would make anyone mad. Hell, I used to even work up some anger to go play Skidmore in lacrosse. But Susqhehanna? Even the name sounds nice. Selinsgrove? Sounds like the kind of town where people cheer for the other team, and do what they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible. I mean, seriously, is there any chance for trash talk this week?

+k for the love.  ;D

PS - Selinsgrove IS a lovely town. Come visit!

I'm still pinching myself that this week is for alllll the marbles... for the wholllllllllle kit and caboodle.... for the whollllllllllllllle enchilada.... for the whollllllllllle ball of wax!

I don't know, methinks ND has already been burned once by a coach who turned around Stanford...

But I agree (and hope), that the big fella may be around again next year.

I was thinking the same thing about Harbaugh...

Weis is gone...two losses to Navy in the last 3 season and an unbelievable 3-16 record since 2007 against teams with a .500 record and above.  Those are Greg Robinson type numbers...which reminds me of why he should have been fired for losing to Syracuse at home last year...

The Boz is officially retired.  No more quagmires from now on:

Boswell Field

Built in 1974, Boswell Field currently hosts Hobart football games in the fall and Hobart lacrosse in the spring. By upgrading its natural grass surface to a state-of-the-art synthetic one, the field will be able to support a variety of both Colleges' varsity teams as well as intramurals, club sports, and summer sports camps. Additional planned renovations include state-of-the art lighting for the stadium; an expanded press box with dedicated spaces for announcers, coaches, the media, and special guests; a renovated gatehouse with a permanent ticket booth; a jogging track bordering the perimeter of Boswell Field; a berm with boxwood hedges shaped in the letters HWS on the east side of the field opposite the main grandstand; and a new pedestrian pathway to better connect the athletic fields with the main campus.

Exactly.  They are re-thinking the academic admissions deal they have going on now.  The last time they lowered the standards for the football team was for Holtz --- who was also the last successful coach.  They will not balk at that now --- after a decade + of being laughed at.  Remember, like all other D1 Major Programs, they run it like a business.  They have a grumbling fan base and need a Home Run after they kick the Giant Blueberry Intern out of town for good.

think harbaugh would of been a lock for michie, being alumni etc... but when he burned those bridges saying michie basically created academic majors for the football players since some werent smart enough to pass in the regular majors. how the football team  and his teammates got special treatment and pushed thru majors w/o completing the required work did not sit nicely w/ the admin people...he could get back a michie almost yearly if he was offered the ND position and took it. although stanford(palo alto) is a great area to live in, one of pbr's favorite spots to hang...
