Final Regional Rankings that we'll get to see publicly are now available:

http://www.d3football.com/dailydose/

Springfield does not fall far and remains above Union and Maine Maritime, which both stay at #10 and #9 respectively.  Interesting set of rankings.

Not one, but two NEFC teams ranked ahead of a 7-0 in conference LL team (Union), interesting. dlip does not ****in agree with that. Is the LL down? dlip still thinks so, yet even though it may be a bit down it isn't ****in that down.

dlippiel

Anyone else having trouble logging into the Daily Dose? **** maybe dlip is banned from this as well. That would make two bans in two days for dlip, one from work and one from the Daily Dose. Don't think dlip ever swore on the daily dose...??? Maybe it's just his computer? Who knows.....anyway no one would want to hear my disagreement regarding the regional rankings anyway...

Dlipp these rankings go by record for the most part.  It doesn't matter who you play.

It will bother me the day a second place team from a second rate conference gets a Pool C bid over a second place team from a first rate conference with an identical record.

Dlip don't worry the rankings might change after the Shocktown Showdown this weekend.

DewCrew,
Can you help me understand why some reporters feel the need to add information such as "a practice rappers call "makin' it rain"" to their articles?
Seriously, what value did that add to the article?  Do you think some 78 year old lady in tampa is now that much more intellegent that she now knows what it's called when rappers throw money in the air?

Secondly, I urge all LLPP members to read the following article.....I honestly cannot believe the washington post published this.... I'd love to hear everyones thoughts on this!
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/05/17/AR2009051702053.html

BTW- my favorite line of the article "The poor pay more in hassle: the calls from the bill collectors, the landlord, the utility company. So they spend money to avoid the hassle. The poor pay for caller identification because it gives them peace of mind to weed out calls from bill collectors. "....what a brilliant idea....

LLPP mini-politics alert

That is a classic article Reg.  I mean, I can see making the argument that being poor is harder than being rich, but more expensive!?!  Ok, I can see how having bad credit is going to make things more expensive, but some of this other stuff makes me sick.

But this is my favorite line in the article:

(Regarding how one man can't go to a bank and is forced to pay $15 to cash a $300 check)
"But his story is as complicated as the various reasons people find themselves in poverty and in need of a check-cashing joint. He says he lost his driver's license and now his regular bank "won't recognize me as a human. That's why I had to come here. It's a rip-off, but it's like a convenience store. You pay for the convenience."

He lost his ****ing drivers license?  Thats a complicated story?  I would bet my house that you don't need a drivers license to open up a bank account in Maryland or anywhere in this country for that matter.

JU- He can't even go to the bank, they won't "recognize him as a human".  Did the guy seriously think that he could just walk up to a bank teller without an ID and cash a check?

Oh yeah....and having an ID may come in handy for standard stuff...you know, like getting a job, driving a car, or living in general.

The article ends basically by saying the poor pay in time as well, because they have to take the bus.  The person from whom they took the quote didn't have a job, so I am guessing she needed to get places quicker in order to do nothing....or watch Judge Judy.  Who knows

Having Little Money Often Means No Car, No Washing Machine, No Checking Account And No Break From Fees and High Prices

What was DeNeen doing writing stories for the Washington Post while on her honeymoon cruise?  Markeith, you need to nip that sort of thing in the bud, bud!

I respectfully disagree, in my mind there are two ways to assess the value of the line, both good. One, the reporter is hopelessly unhip, and during his research heard for the first time the term "makin' it rain", and thought it was informational, which cranks the "unintentional comedy" rating of this article through the roof. It takes an article about an absolutely ridiculous incident, and makes it better. In this scenario, I'd imagine him to be a 44 year old white male, living in his grandmothers basement and riding his bike to work.

The second option is the Steven Colbert take, in which he is absolutely taking shots at everyone involved in this incident by making it sound serious and important. Either way, I love the article, and the line makes it even more ridiculous>

Maine Maritime (8-1, 6-1) *
Alfred (7-1, 3-1) * /
Plymouth State (8-2, 6-1)
Union (7-2, 6-0) *
SUNY-Cortland (7-2, 7-2)

Framingham State (5-5, 3-4)
Utica (4-5, 0-4) X /
Brockport State (3-6, 2-6) X

Records are overall followed by respective league records.  Line represents projected cut based on current NCAA Playoff berths, although line could be one or two levels too high (thus allowing one or two four-loss teams into the ECAC Bowls if two teams above line enter NCAA Playoffs).

* - Team could still win an NCAA berth.

+, / - Team plays against another team in the list in future game.

X - Team currently does not have record that would allow it to be considered (>=.500 overall or in league).

Six teams will be picked from the list of teams that file for consideration.  The deadline for consideration without late fee was THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 5TH at 5pm EST.

Teams will be selected by the ECAC Football Championships Committee on or about 11/15/09 (following selection of the NCAA Playoffs field).  Teams historically have been selected by win-loss record except when ties exist.  The #1 team hosts the #6 team, the #2 team hosts the #5 team and the #3 team hosts the #4 team, unless the higher-seeded team does not file to host the game.  All games begin at 12pm local time on 11/21/09.
