dlip guesses it just annoys him, it doesn't bother you at all Utah?

I'm with you Dlip, even though I know it won't matter in the end, it pisses me off that this is the way these rankings are done. Why schedule ANY out of region games, why not just schedule weak in region teams?

Frank Rossi

Quick note:  USMMA filed for ECAC consideration in the South Sub-region.  They would need to win Saturday against RPI for consideration.  However, there are about 20 teams that have filed for the six slots in that Sub-region, making it unlikely that USMMA would be selected.

Anyone else having trouble logging into the Daily Dose? **** maybe dlip is banned from this as well. That would make two bans in two days for dlip, one from work and one from the Daily Dose. Don't think dlip ever swore on the daily dose...??? Maybe it's just his computer? Who knows.....anyway no one would want to hear my disagreement regarding the regional rankings anyway...

Getting this conversation off the E8 boards, how the F is Maine Maritime ranked ahead of Union in the regional rankings?

I understand Curry.  Curry has proven that THEY can hang.  But no one else in that crap league has EVER.  And they haven't yet played each other.  This makes ZERO sense.  I think Union sucks as much as the next guy...but do they suck worse than 2 NEFC teams?  Well, I don't think anyone sucks that bad.

PBR...

Again, I think it just goes by record.  If Clown College was 10-0, with wins over Terd U, and Dlip State, they would be ranked #5.

Not saying its right, but lets hope a 8-2 NEFC team doesnt get in over a 8-2 E8, LL, NJAC or MAC team (pool C).  If and when that happens we can all have a legit gripe.

That is what I was saying when 2 NEFC teams got in over all of the second place teams from the E8, LL, NJAC, and MAC last year.  People thought I was crazy and being a homer because I am a Wick fan...but I just thought it was a dangerous precedent that the committee set last year.  I was just as pissed that Montclair State and RPI were passed over.  When they do this, I think it sends a strong message not to schedule any tough OOC opponents.  If you aren't going to take (as an example) a second place one-loss (in conference) IC team from the E8 (in this cases finishing tied for first but loses a tie-breaker for the AQ) who loses an epic game to CS (as an example) and finishes 8-2 overall, over a team from the NEFC that doesn't even make their conference championship game (Curry last year as an example)...why would anyone "beef up" their scheudle any more?

Last year was different because that second team was Curry.  Had Curry won the conference, Plymouth would not have gotten in.  But it didn't shake out that way, and Curry showed that they were the right pick.

yea I was going to say the same thing.  Curry had only one loss as well.  If Montclair or Albright didn't get in with 2 losses they might have a beef.  But they both had 3.

absolutely correct and pbr sang this from the rafters last year...example dvc played div I-AA Iona, wesley and salisbury who were both ranked in the top 20 and won both games. they had 1 bad loss at fdu and lost to lyco. granted the loss to fdu was bad at 19-14 and lyco was 10-7 but more than thought their ooc schedule made up for it . When you lined dvc up against the the other teams up for the at large spot pbr more than thought there were more deserving who had played much tougher competition and the committee did not reward tough hard ooc schedules. All the teams that played hard ooc schedules were passed over. It showed the d3 entry is NOT like march madness where teams get rewarded for playing tough schedules. It did show that teams got rewarded for playing cream puffs and padding their schedule. Which to pbr is a very dangerous path to head down. You will not see good teams lining each other up to play your going to see everyone looking to schedule the easiest ooc games they can. Disappointing to say the least...

I was just giving an example...and I understand what you guys are saying.  There really isn't any consistency, and I think that is the issue that most folks have.  In 2007, Plymouth State finished with one loss (to Curry...and because it was Curry they did not make their conference championship game) and they missed the NCAA's when a two-loss Ithaca team (who finished third in the E8) made it instead.  In 2008, a one loss Curry team (to Plymouth State...and because it was PS, they didn't make it to their conference championship game) makes it to the dance over a two-loss Hartwick team (who finished second in the E8) and the other second place teams from the NJAC (Montclair had 2 losses in the regular season), LL (RPI had two losses in the regular season), and the MAC (kind of a mess, so I actually understand them not taking them in this case...).  Not saying Curry wasn't worthy...but the road to get to the NCAA's for the NEFC teams to me is just much easier then the E8, NJAC, LL, and the MAC.

I bet they ranked them over Union just to justify them getting a pool C over the NEFC team that doesn't win.
