My bad... Union D is much better than Susq D IMO.  Obviously didn't read the post carefully.

If the U D plays solid and doesn't arm tackle Paveltz i think they win.  The arm tackling seems to happen from the middle of the third Q on.  Paveltz and their O line tend to wear you down.  You stop the running game for 2/3rds of the game and then he starts getting 6-12 yards a carry mostly on second effort.

If i am the U coaching staff they need to limit the 3rd down conversions early in the game by pressing the wideouts.  They like to run the stop routes and 8 yard outs to convert 3rd and 6.

I agree with Hobart.  If they protect the football I anticipate a 7+ point victory.. We will see. that's why we play the games.   I know this is off topic, but has anyone checked this site out? www.ryanenglebert.com/report

Pretty cool stuff anyways..

Spammers are tools.....that clown has no idea about Hobart football.

PBR...

seems like its been raining forever here so the underwater drinking lamp is lit....

dlip was going to go into this large breakdown of tomorrow's possibilities between Union and Susquehanna for the championship of the LL. Yet he honestly feels that there are only some very key points for both teams tomorrow.

Susquehanna- Run Paveletz often and with success. A key for Suscrotch is to keep the Union D guessing and guessing run. For the most part even when you know Paveletz is coming at you it is still tough to bottle him up. The more they run the more they open up the potential for Pallozzi to hurt them through the air. This season when Union D has overplayed the run they have struggled to stop tough 3rd down conversions in the air, especially when the DB's have given the recievers room from scrimmage. On D Sus must stop Chris Coney and force the game into Drew Connelly's hands. This may prove to back fire on them but dlip feels this is their best bet at keeping the dangerous Union O at bay and contained. So far this year Drew has struggled even when Coney has been successful. So if Coney is bottled up this may prove beneficial for Sus.

Union- Drew Connelly must have a mistake free game (for the most part) and put the ball into the air for his athletic receivers. Mark dlip's words if Union throws the ball well they will WIN this game. Coney must be a big part of tomorrows plan. Chris must get a ton of touches, enough to give him the opportunity break out with some big runs and provide the Union O with sustained drives. dlip also feels Jared Gourrier and Justin Gallo MUST get many touches as well. Here is dlips big prediction, he believes in Drew Connelly and feel tomorrow he makes good on his potential. Drew CAN carve up a D something nasty (especially with his receiving core) when he is on. If dlip was U he would come out throwing and work the run in through the 2nd and third drives. Connelly must get fired up, we have seen that even when the run is effective he can still struggle. SO dlip feels it is SO important for him to be involved and have success for the U to win. On D Union must not overplay Paveletz. Paveletz will get his yards but don't let him beat you. If the secondary can hold Pallozzi in check, keep him honest, and force the entire load on Pavelez's shoulders dlip feels UNion will have to much on O for him to keep up.

Susquehanna: 21

What, no dlipping ***'s?!! What the hell's happening here. Stop being so damn dlipping thoughtful, get some dlipping fire back in your belly, start building up some hate for those dlipping Amish Scrotch bastages, and let's get fired up. These nice Scrotch son's of dlips have been lulling us to sleep with all of their niceties and social graces, but I didn't expect it to work on you.

Now, get back to being ****ing dlip, and let's bring the LL championship back to Shocktown, and send the Scrotchies on their pleasant way to wherever the hell they're going next year, without the LL title.

Sunday on a special "Selection Sunday" edition of "In the HuddLLe" at http://inthehuddlle.com, we will be joined by Joy Solomen, this year's NCAA Division III Football Championship Committee Chairwoman.  She will discuss the bracketing process -- from selection of the Field of 32 to the placement and seeding of those teams.

In order to make the interview more interactive, we would ask those with questions to post those questions between 3:30pm EST and 5:00pm EST to the "East Region Playoffs" message board on Sunday (following the release of the brackets).  We will not just focus on the Liberty League team in the mix or even just the East Region -- we will discuss any surprises and concerns that become evident once the brackets are released.

In addition to Chairwoman Solomen, we will interview Liberty League Commissioner Timothy Danehy, speak with the coach of the Liberty League team that wins tomorrow's League Championship Game and discuss the team the Liberty League participant will face.  Please join us starting at 7:30pm EST at http://inthehuddlle.com (or for the archive starting at around 10:00pm EST).

Anyone watching the Wabash/Depaw game on HDNet?

The QB for Wabash is kind of embarrassing to watch.  I don't care what his #'s say...he looks terrible and it doesn't do d3 justice watching the kid play.  He's pretty goofy throwing and running with the ball.  Looks like a 3rd string HS QB at best.  But somehow he has decent #'s and they are the #15 team in the country.  A little embarrassing as far as i'm concerned.

Otherwise, both teams look pretty solid.  Fast, decent size, and a lot of athleticism.

BUT that f'ing BELL!!!  SHUT IT UP!

Some ****ing thoughts on today:

First off, congratulations to Susquehanna today! dlip felt the Crusaders played a great, hard fought game and deserved the win. dlip is hoping Susquehanna represents the LL well next week and gets at least a first round W (of course dlip realizes they could end up going to ****in Alliance, Ohio). Rich Pallozzi managed quite the game in the **** weather and hats off to #23 for an amazing, game changing ****in catch on a flee flicker type play. dlip is totally rooting for the Crusaders next week as the LL rep.

Secondly, today dlip felt proud to be a Union College football fan. He felt that the U players played their hearts and souls out. Obviously the game could be broken down but overall that was one of the better games Union played as a whole this season. Believe dlip he has seen all of their home games and listened to the rest. Union played well today and was just beaten by a team that made some very good adjustments and played determined football in the 2nd half. Here in 09 Union has not played to their potential period, to dlip this point is not up for debate. What they did do however is battle their asses off and gave a very heart felt effort today and just came up short. dlip takes his hat off to all the Union seniors and just feels so proud to be a fan of the U. dlip knows today must be very heard to swallow for the U players, but to dlip, they battled as hard as they could and that is all dlip can ask for as a fan. Other issues are always up for debate and probably will be addressed by all of us here in one form or another. dlip has learned to accept this team for who they are and what they are and feels pretty good about that. Hats off to Connor Cohn for coming in today on the D-line and playing his ass off when Sean Connerlly was injured.

Last, dlip would love to see U get an ECAC game and will be there in full support (as long as his wife doesn't give birth). dlip would love to see the seniors get one more game, one they can use to go out with a hopeful win!

TGP's been out and about all day with the little ones (but TGP did catch the first half of the SCIAC match up btw CLU and Redlands), so TGP has been catching up on the day's action.

Congrats to Union and Susquehanna for a hard fought LL championship game.  It appears as though the turn-overs and injuries caught up with Union and SU just made a few more big plays.  Hopefully both SU and UC will fare well in the NCAA and ECAC games, respectively.

Maine Maritime coming out of "no-where".  Congrats on knocking off Curry.  TGP thinks this will create some issues with the 500 mile rule, but guessing a trip to Montclair (again congrats TGP thought Kean was going to be the NJAC champ but MSU TCB'd it today) is in the cards.

Finally congrats to the Hobart senior class.  You guys made this Statesmen proud.  You've had a great run.  Best of luck in the real world.

Cheers to these Statesmen:

I saw that.  Would be even funnier if it is given the cheesy email handle (i.e., "athleticplaya211")

Well it would not be the first time. I have maybe 1-2 credible posters on the board. Maybe.  :'(
