When you look at the story behind the story of yesterday's semifinals, it's clear that Mount Union may be the real underdog Saturday.  Mount Union QB Kurt Rocco was knocked out of the game yesterday early, turning Mount Union into a one-dimensional team on the ground.  That game stayed 10-7 for a while before the Mount put it away --  but their third QB of the game, Cecil Shorts, was 0-2 passing. 

When you look at UWW, the team struggled, but Jeff Donovan led them back from a fourth-quarter deficit.  Donovan has the experience and allows the team to be two-dimensional.  The key to winning for UWW would be prolonged scoring drives, minimizing the opportunities for the Mount offense to find their rhythm (which is obviously lacking without Rocco in the lineup -- we'll have to watch his status this week). 

Kudos to both teams for staging fourth-quarter dominance at a time that it looked like their seasons could have been cut short.  Yes, I shrug as much as anyone about seeing the same teams in Salem for my third straight year, but this one feels different already, just looking at yesterday's games.  We'll have unprecedented coverage throughout the week, so stay tuned across the site for blogs, stories and maybe even some video from the site as we get closer to the Stagg Bowl.

SF was very jealous that Gerhart got to spend a whole day with ESPN's Jenn Brown... SF would bet money that she's a real Wildcat.

Ditto, what a great game to watch. Cool stadium, great setting, sellout crowd going absolutely ape-sh*t the whole game, the game starting off with grey skies and ending with the snow covering the field, great ending, the two teams history, everything. My 6 year old son and I were watching it, he was having a blast. Even my wife walked by and watched the end of it it was so cool. Not sure it gets any better than that.

LLPPFFL: what happened to LD's team was just wrong... outscoring 6 of the 7 other teams in the playoffs, and still ends up with the L... that's a farging greek tradegy.
