Bayonne is common, but expensive (relative to the rest of the country, not NYC area) and you have to deal with guys who have vowels ending their last names - like Lucarelli.

I could see this Stevens guy being the tip of the iceberg.  I bet there's a lot of college presidents are living larger than they should while the burden on the average student increases.  When I lived in DC, I met some high level non-profit people pulling in 200k to 400k and you have to wonder what the hell is going on with non-profits in general.  Don't tell me that they have to pay up to get market rate talent because A.  most of these guys wouldn't get similar comp in private sector where they'd be middle managers (I have a cousing who's been Treasurer, Director of Financial services and head of internal audit at JLG, Pittson/Brinks and Dentsply and he's all in at $150 - $200k or so, granted in York, PA and Richmond, VA, but still a talented dood) and B.  they're non-profits, people are supposed to work there without the profit motive in their mindset.

Several non-profit leaders are spouses of politicians (e.g. Elizabeth Dole, Michele Obama prior to her hubby's election).  The positions are very lucrative rewards with the understanding that these non-profits will get legislation passed that surprise of all surprises, puts money into the non-profits causes.  Dole served as the head of Red Cross.  Michele Obama had a position at a hospital that raked in over $300K...a position that did not exist before her, and does not now exist.

The Rev wants to be the head of a non-profit, but is not incompetent enough in the private sector.  One of these days....one of these days...The Rev is going to dlip-up something so badly that he gets a huge promotion while the competent and conscientious employees wallow in technician levels or lower management.

Among surprises in the faculty's 2004 report was that Stevens, which provides Dr. Raveché with a brick colonial residence with a view of the Manhattan skyline, had extended him three mortgage loans totaling $1.8 million for two vacation homes, one in Mount Snow Valley, Vt., and the other near the Jersey Shore.

You ever notice you never see Dr. Raveché and The Situation in the same place?

This just in, Dr. Raveche will now have another view of NYC from...Rikers ****in Island!

= Dr.R's new vacation home

No he will get a view of the Truck yards in Kearny across 1&9 from the Hudson County Hilton.

Those truck yards earn SF his living... Know exactly where you are talking about.

KS... I got a question for you.  Best place in North Jersey to purchase a temp-control warehouse for repacking produce (ala Lucca Cold Storage)???

Possibly Carltstatdt or the Rutherfords or Secaucus area, lots of warehouses around there.

Also further south down the turnpike.  Plenty of space around exit 8... about 60 miles from NYC.

I am heading to my ancestral home before too long, so I wanted to wish all the LLPP a happy holiday season. Yeah, season. Why should all the fun be limited to one day?!  ;D

+k to the last few pages. Merry merry!

Office party.  The liquid medication is kicking in.  Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to all. Safe travels.

I was lucky to get out of Penn Station today for my train ride to Albany... Amtrak had complete service disruptions this morning for three hours, temporarily mimicking the EuroStar rail fiasco in Europe.  Most trains are now on time, as the four-hour delayed Boston train was leaving simultaneous to my train.

Safe travels to all my rowdy LLPP friends.  Remember not to sip the eggnog -- gulp it down instead!

Here's something for you guys to chew on if you have any expertise.  FR's walk-in bedroom closet had a major fail while he was on his way to Salem.  Specifically, one side of the minimalist plastic shelf/hanger bar came down completely, rendering one side of his closet DOA.

FR has always wanted to redo his closet for more functionality -- the closet is a decent size across and very deep -- but the width was obscured by poor planning by whomever installed it originally -- if you hung shirts on both sides, they would jut out too much for real walking space.  So, this is a good excuse to redo things.

Anyone know of any cheap but stylish/effective options, especially in the NYC area?  Does IKEA handle these types of things?  What would you recommend for him?  Thanks.

Home Depot and Lowes both have a very large selection of various closet accessories and configurations.  I would check them out.

A little ****ing Holiday shout out to the Brethern on the LLPP!:

Twas the night before Christmas and it was dead ****ing quiet in the house
The guru declared Rubba Dub the 09 D3 powerhouse
Utah was caroling making sense with smart sensible posts
while SF was a boozing SAINT who always gives the LLPP the most
Holy **** it's the man U89 supporting da U
under the mistletoe him and Rossi kiss after an argument or two
KS salutes the great stars and stripes and always seems level headed
if you look close enough you will find dewcrew embedded
writing weekly stories for the ****in man supporting Utica loud and clear
on this Christmas eve regulator please poor the LLPP a beer
This year the East was weak as ****in ****
pbr supported del val until they bit Albrights tit
JT the politcal machine with knowledge far and wide
while TGP, Rev, and pa eat pumpkins inside
don't look now but here comes gro and the Dogg
riding an engineer sleigh drinking egg ****ing nogg
Saint Nick that fat mother****er is coming down our chimneys tonight
he's hoping to get lucky with the grove but theirs no chance in sight
During the holiday let's all give thanks
that Upstate and Doidhang out in this place
Let's end this holiday jiggle quick and without ****ing offense
dlip hopes he included everyone
even though drafting two defenses makes no ****ing sense
dlip wishes the LLPP and their families the very very best this year
pg.04 will continue to do the poll in 10 without any fear
so to all a good night wishing happiness and love
thanks to the LLPP for being more satisfying than masturbating in a baseball glove!

Happy safe, healthy, and enjoybale ****in holidays to the LLPP

Speaking of Xmas, TGP thought he'd dust off this one:

'Twas the night before Christmas', when all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even U89's computer mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Guru soon would be there;
The Futchmen were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Shoeapalooza danced in their heads;
And Mrs TGP in her 'kerchief, and TGP in my Hobart cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
TGP sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window TGP flew like the Rev running to get his flask,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the crest of the new-fallen snow
Gave the luster of supe57 to the objects below,
When, what to TGP's wondering eyes should be,
But a miniature escalade, lead by a large contingent of the LLPP,

With a little old driver, so lively like Sulu,
TGP knew in a moment it must be St. Guru.
More rapid than Enginegro eating Ruck wings they came,
And St. Guru whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:

"Now, PBR! now, JT! now, Tags and LewDogg!
On, Dewcrew! on Reg! on, Rossi and RedTackle!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now Holladawg! Holladawg! Holladawg all!"

"As dry leaves that before the wild '86 field fly,
When they meet with a Boswell, or Butterfield to the sky,
So up to the house-top the LLPPers they flew,
With the sleigh full of Daily Doses, and a K-Mack ATN too.

And then, in a twinkling, TGP heard on the roof
The ballin on a budget of each LLPPer drinking 80 proof.
As TGP drew in his hand, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Guru came with a bound.

He was dressed all in D3 gear, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of D3 prognostications he had flung on his back,
and he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
Although Garnet said he had smoked all his stash,
TGP thinks he'd cough up some if shown the cash
St Guru had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a bowl full of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And TGP laughed, in spite of himself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know TGP had nothing to dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
Laying his finger aside of his nose, he said "It's Science"
And giving a nod, up the chimney he flyeth;

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a shout,
And away they all flew downing their Guiness car bombs and the rest of the stout.
But TGP heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight,
"MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT."
