Me thinks you must have had too much New Year's Eve as PSU played LSU not Auburn.

The bigger travesty to me is the field condition.  That slop looked like David Person field in Williamsport at the end of the season.

Actually, DP field often looked better.

Thankfully, PSU won out after dominating the entire box score and held on when it counted to win.

PSU got some help from the zebras on that final unsportsmanlike penalty on LSU's #65.  I don't see how it's a penalty to pull a defender off your RB when it's clear the defender (#11 for PSU) was clearly stalling and purposely delaying the game) off your teammate.

The 15 yards took LSU out of FG range and cost them a shot to win the game in the final seconds.  Credit PSU for playing well but that was a b.s. and deciding call with the game on the line.  TGP hates that dlip.

As the Sugar Bowl turns into DelVal/Susquehanna (37-3 in the 3rd now), Color Analyst Brian Billick will dissect what Gators QB Tim Tebow had for breakfast today, the motion he uses to brush his teeth and whether or not the "S" imprinted in Tebows chest is permanent or just a Cracker Jack tattoo.  Nothing like exhilerarting television on FOX tonight.  STAY TUNED!

many things here....first you cant pull a guy off the pile and throw him to the side like its a dwarf tossing contest especially after the whistle has blown...secondly if the players were getting up slow the refs normally blow the whistle to stop the clock and place the ball while the players unravel and get back up so why didnt the refs stop play and clock? thirdly once again les miles showed how bad his clock management is at the end of a game (see previous losses this year for other examples)....fourth if les miles had gotten good advice earlier when he challenged that fumble call when EVERYONE saw on the replays it was clearly a fumble he would of had a timeout left to take there to stop the clock. les miles and the coaching staff are horrible during games for management. LASTLY  that field was a complete embarrassment...capital one should be stringing people up in the town squares to have their name associated w/ that disgrace of a field. granted they are looking into nexturf from here on out but that was a disgrace to make those teams play on that kind of surface....

It's rare for FR to well up during a football contest, but while at the gym, he saw the postgame of the Papa John's Bowl (S. Car 7 - UConn 20).  The players did a lap around the field after the game with the jersey of slain comrade Jasper Howard while the UConn band played.  That team has had a helluva season, and to watch it end that way gave FR goosebumps and some undereye wetness -- good reminder of what really matters after another season of football
comes to a close.

In case he never said it to all here, FR wishes you and yours
a Happy 2010!

Seeing that field reminded me of this MNF game:

I was listening to Penn State's radio broadcast and Jack Ham (PSU color guy) thought the penalty was on the Nittany Lions player for pinning the LSU player to the ground.  It was radio so I have no opinion on the play. :)

Texas Tech AD:  So I heard you're looking for a new job.
Trainer:  Sir?
Texas Tech AD: I saw you on ESPN the other day backing up Leach.
Trainer: -gulp-
Texas Tech AD:  Or was I mistaken?
Trainer: I guess what I said didn't really come out right.  For the record Leach is a rat bastard and I'm glad he's gone.
Teaxs Tech AD: What are you trying to say?
Trainer: I'm a team player, sir.  Leach wasn't.
Texas Tech AD: I thought so.

Exactly....+1, Rev.  Leach may be a bit of a difficult dude to deal with, but he's one helluva college football coach.  Look where Texas Tech was, Pre-Leach and re-examine the program in 2 years.  Leach put TT football on the map and they will now plummet back down to a below average program.  You can question Leach's actions in this process, but James obviously had a huge ax to grind vs. the Head Coach.

The kid was not placed in a small, dank electrical closet...could Leach have handled the situation better?  Sure.  Should he have been fired for this incident?  No way.

That's why KS waited until he was in his thirties to attend college, so he could legally pick up chicks half his age.  It's good to be a dirty old man.

The Rev got thinking about something while taking his first dump of the New Year this morning.  (the Rev does all of his best thinking on the pot.)

The Rev requested a song last night on the Karaoke machine that was popular when the Rev was here for the first time back in 1995.  The girl didn't know the song or the singer.  This morning The Rev decided that she was probably too young to know it.

That made The Rev think even more.  Had The Rev met these very same hot chicks when he came to Korea in 1995, they would have been 5 or 6 years old.  The Rev was almost sick to his stomach thinking about that.  That's just dlipping gross.  The Rev can't imagine hitting on a girl that he had taught "The Wheels on the bus Go Round and Round" to 15 years ago.  And yet, that's essentially what The Rev was up to.

Anyway, after that revelation this morning, The Rev can't even look at 20-somethings anymore.  The Rev is old.  The Rev has come face-to-face with mortality.  The angel of death came to The Rev in the form of a smoking hot Korean chick and warned me of my Doom.  The Rev is just waiting to die.  Life is over.  or else I could find a woman my own age.  Either way.

Rev, never forget the golden rule, half plus seven. As in, half your age (e.g. 44/2 = 22 years) plus seven years = 29. That line is the lower limit, anything below that definately doesn't work. The rule always made sense to me. That, and, how much do you bench...

Good rule, Doid.  I never knew that one.  The Rev can wrap his mind around that one.  After all 29 is nearly 30, so that's not pervy.

+K for the how much you can bench.  It was a true laugh out loud moment.

When JT met MJT she hit the formula exactly. Nine years later and still going strong.  One thing to remember Rev., chicks our age want babies right away, that baby clock is ticking like bomb.  With MJT, we were able to overcome illness, really get to know each other, travel. etc. etc.,  And now, doing the kid thing just fits, since it wasn't a rush.  So JT highly recommends the formula to those men that don't get married in their 20's.

JT is feeling like he's back from the dead.  Not from New Year's partying, but from a hamburger gone wrong. We were visiting MJT's Mom in the hospital on the 1st.  She had a minor procedure done.  It was late, many places were closed for New Year's... so we stopped at this burger joint called the Fireplace.  KS might know it (Its on 17 North... near the Fashion Center before Ridgewood Ave.)

Anyway its one of the oldest burger joints in country.  Never had a problem before.  They serve up the burger and you dress it yourself.  MJT had pickles, relish, and Ketchup.  JT had pickles, relish, raw chopped onions, and Ketchup.  Suffice it to say, JT later woke at 2am Saturday with two exits, no waiting.

Food poisoning...  Saturday was like death warmed over.  Was able to handle some Gatorade by the afternoon.  Just starting to eat a little.

Come to find out that raw onions can be a magnet for bacteria, especially left out and handled by many people.  Wish MJT saw JT dress his burger, she dropped this knowledge on JT after he was already dying.

Hope you are feeling better JT, food poisoning sucks! dlip is now confused regarding the TT/Leach situation. One side is ****in lying here and dlip isn't wuite sure which one. Leach obviously sounds like a bit of a beauty regarding his personality and the Adam and Craig James, to dlip at least, seem like they should be on the nest season of Jersey shore. Again, we shall see...
