Just a warmup for my Preakness shenanigans in two weeks!!!  I'm in my 'office' right now with a HUGE hat and tuxedo t-shirt.

I think the tuxedo t-shirt is awesome...because it says like, I wanna be formal, but I'm here to party too...

A litttle "Goldman humor" to wrap the week:

"You want the truth? You can't handle the truth. Son, we live in a country with an investment gap. And that gap needs to be filled by men with money. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Middle Class Consumer? Goldman Sachs has a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lehman and you curse derivatives. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what we know: that Lehman's death, while tragic, probably saved the financial system. And that Goldman's existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves pension funds. You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want us to fill that investment gap. You need us to fill that gap. "We use words like credit default swaps, collateralized debt obligation, and securitization? We use these words as the backbone of a life spent investing in something. You use 'em as a punchline. We have neither the time nor the inclination to explain ourselves to a commoner who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very credit we provide, and then questions the manner in which we provide it! We'd rather you just said thank you and paid your taxes on time. Otherwise, we suggest you get an account and start trading. Either way, we don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to!" ~ As Posted on Calculated Risk

DLIP --- you should make plans to ATTEND the derby one year in the Ville.  VERY good time. . . SF has been in the infield and also had to dress up to watch from the box seats in the past.  The whole city (bars have closing time of 4am) shuts down and its a giant party for the entire two weeks leading up to it.  The Saturday before, Thunder over Louisville is held... largest fireworks show in the Country.

Pretty girls + nice bourbons + of course Kentucky's ultimate illegal cash crop (ask LD) = GREAT TIME

SF has a HS friend who lives in Nashville, or Nashvegas how they like to call it.   Anyways, she was telling SF that her town (Bellevue) is all underwater but the outlaying areas are OK in spots.  Yesterday though, her neighborhood started getting surrounded and now she is stuck there in her home.

The entire city of Boston and much of eastern Massachusetts is without drinkable tap water.  This comes from a water main leak a few days ago.  Now I don't drink tap water at all, but basically every single coffee shop is without coffee in the Boston area.  Now that effects me.

Lots of rain but no flooding in ChattaVegas... been pretty lucky the last few weeks with all the nasty weather.

No coffee in Boston? That would be a disaster.

A friend from Nashville posted this on facebook the other day. A portable classroom floating down I-24. Incredible!

Luckily I live in a town that wasn't effected, but it should be fixed in a few days.

Check this five year old from Jersey City getting his hacks in on the 85 mph batting machine.  Then watch him field.  Totally sick.  Its like those kiddie savants that play piano at Carnegie Hall, only this is better.  Just ignore the cheezy music bed.

Someone needs to teach that kid some form.  He throws like a woman and although he can make contact hitting, he's definitely not fast enough to run out those consistent ground balls to second.

I also noticed that the kid starts to swing before the ball leaves the pitchers hands.

I read in the local paper that the kid uses a 33" bat because a smaller bat hurts his hands.  At 5 yrs old that is still pretty cool. I know adults that can't get around on a batting cage fastball.  And I've seen t-ball games played by kids around that age that can't hit a ball off a  T.  This kid is advanced coordination wise.

I'm not impressed.  He's probably 14.  Danny Almonte style.

14... come on.  Not unless he's the second coming of Webster. And JT spotted Almonte for a fake when he watched the LL WS.  Something just didn't gel.  JT said that dood is older.  He's too polished.
