Do any of the liberty league pp'ers have info on the gameday experience at Hobart? I am planning on making the trip to Geneva this weekend. Is there a good spot to tailgate? Park? Etc. Thanks in advance.

That's a toughie now that they redid the entire venue.  Used to be a somewhat tough place to tailgate, but there was a parking lot across the street from the entrance I used (across from some townhouses belonging to the school) that Union folks used to tailgate in the past.  I doubt that's changed after the renovations, but someone who's seen the changes could answer better.

Fan Guide to Boswell Field

I'd recommend tailgating off of St. Clair Street near the "O'dell's Pond" / O'dells Rd student residences.  Otherwise you can park in the GENEVA CENTRE PLAZA off 5&20 (aka Hamilton Street) - about 5-7 minute walk to the field.

Apparently there is now a NYY-themed sports bar/pub called Dana's Time Out directly across from the Caird Center/Boz as well.  I have never been, but they do have a website you can check out.

Given it's homecoming there will be events going on around the field (My old college band and I will be performing some cover tunes from around 5:30 PM until kickoff to add to the "festivities"), etc. but I think alcohol, etc. is restricted to certain areas.

Interesting top 25 poll today. Montclair surpasses the 20's into the teens, Alfred moves into the twenties with SJF collecting votes and looking to break in. dlip actually would have Alfred behind IC and SJF with SJF breaking into the top 25. Del Val out of the top ten with a loss at Wesley? The interpretation of this game is going back and forth from perspective to perspective but in the end dlip credits Del Val with a solid performance against a team that would steam roll most in our region regardless of turnovers and/or mistakes. dlip loves the top 25 poll, overall a solid job as usual but questions regarding it are what make us D3 fans tick. :)

I agree with the Montclair jump, since there was a lot of softness in the teams in the 18-25 range this past weekend.  For anyone that had Montclair riding below those softer teams, a statement win against arch-rival Rowan by a large margin justifies a small leap.  It's always funny to vote in the Poll because you don't know if you're acting like an outlier compared to the other voters when you jump teams -- in this case, my jump was in line with the average of what the other voters did.  So, I feel there was a consensus about Montclair's performance.  I swapped Alfred's relative position with Montclair's essentially, since Montclair has a more quality win now that Widener seems to be a soft team this season.

As you've seen in the East Region Poll discussion, the concerns about DVC center around the offense's inability to get on full track so far this season.  If I ding Wesley by two spots in my poll, dinging DVC by four spots is pretty much appropriate if I think a six TO performance is a bit anomalous for Wesley and DVC's offense hasn't fully reached 2009 levels still.  Again, that seemed to be a consensus move in the Poll itself.

I think the biggest challenge for me as a first-year voter is trying to assess the strengths of teams relatively across all regions.  That's been a definite stumbling block every Sunday morning as I vote before Church -- how does one compare Linfield with Alfred right now, especially when Linfield has a loss to a CalLute team that lost this week?  I still believe Linfield is a strong team, but how strong?  If you think it's easy to rank teams across the nation, even just from 1 to 25, I challenge you to play along this season and reassess your own ballot every Sunday in light of the results.  I've spent an average of an hour just ranking my ballot each week -- and that doesn't include the hours of scoreboard/box score reading I did to prepare for the vote.

That's just my $.02...

what is full track? they beat muhlenberg 27-0 which is no slouch of a team and scored 27 points against the #20 ranked team wash&jeff...and scored 17 on wesley the number #3 ranked team....should they beat them all by 50+ and embarrass the other team and coaches....how much more full track does everyone want this team to be? when your winning 27-0 in the 4th wouldn't it be smart to substitute other players in to get them experience and build depth? Look just don't see how "off" track their offense is at this point. Even gordon said they could of beaten this teams by much more if they wanted.

You won't be able to use W&J for comparison,IMO, after this coming Saturday.  They'll be in Kentucky for Thomas More's home opener.

W&J wasn't even in my top 30 this season to this point.  That was a team with a weak SOS that made the playoffs last year as the last team in.  So, to me, that wasn't the most impressive performance for a team I had ranked in the Top 10 at the time.  But one game doesn't determine a team's relative strength.  As I said, it seems like DVC is inconsistent on offense compared to last year, and last year, they lost in the round of 16.  Maybe they improve their offensive consistency in league play, but right now, voters can only go on what they know or see.  This isn't an argument about whether a team pulling 50 points should be in the Top 25.  This is a discussion about a team potentially meriting a placement in the Top 10 -- and we've all said many times that once you go past the Top 15, there's a huge cluster underneath.  DVC has not been classified as having dropped off to that degree by dropping to 13th.  It's great that you support your team, but can you make arguments against the 12 teams ahead of DVC right now?  DVC IS the highest-ranked one-loss team currently.

once again frank you totally try to misdirect and change the focus. you stated that dvc's offense was off track. I disagreed....DVC has scored 10 td in 3 games that is avg'ing over 3 td's per game. As per people at the game DVC could of taken some of these teams to the woodshed but chose to play and win w/ class. Again I have NO problem w/ where you or anyone else has ranked DVC. I am making a simple observation and disagree completely w/ your statement. You can only play who your scheduled. DVC played the #3/#20 ranked teams, period. There first 2 games they scored 4 td's in each game and 2 td's this past week. You made the statement that DVC offense is "off track" this season....my question is how many points and how bad of beatings/embarrass teams so they are not "off track" in your mind?

Frank Rossi

PBR, at this point, all I can say is that the Top 12 have averaged 40+ points per game in their wins this season, while DVC averaged 23.7 points in 3 games (27 in wins).  Last year's non-conference schedule I think was actually stronger than this year's schedule (sure, a lot of that relies on retrospect which we don't quite have yet for 2010 opponents) -- but league play will determine exactly how strong/weak the offense is this season from here.  If we focus on DVC alone, currently, I think the offense was stronger last year at this point in the season last year.  If we focus on DVC in a national scale, they're not a Top 10 team just yet -- that could change by the end of the season, though.  And as I said, I hope it does or someone else from the Region can step up.

The Rev put Frank Gore in last-moment.  Very glad he did.  Rev beat his opponent 103-73 on Yahoo!
Big performers this week were Phil Rivers, Malcom Floyd, Frank Gore, and Pittsburgh D.

Roddy White and Hakeem Nicks didn't hurt The Rev, either.

Bye Bye Braylon.  Edwards was arrested this morning and is in custody awaiting arraignment in NYC for DWI.  Just heard it on ESPN, it is in the NY Post.

He is nasty, but i'll be surprised if he can do it all season.  Week 1, he had like 14 carries for 20 yards, but 2 tds.  Without those 2 tds, he woulda been garbage.  I think he's a great talent, but I still am weary about the Lions...especially without Stafford.

that is the 1 things that worries me...although after seeing the lions last weekend they are a MUCH better team than they have been in years. calvin johnson and best help each other in spreading out the defense....also rumors running that reggie bush broke his fibula last night in the 4th qtr....gonna be out for awhile so don't know who has him in the LLPPFFL but he be done for now
