Thank you to both MUC and WWW for an amazing Stagg Bowl.  This was one of the best college football games I have ever seen at any level.  Fantastic plays and athleticism from beginning to end.  Two quick observations:

1)  The Northeast has a long way to go in order to compete with the talent on display yesterday.
2)  Larry Kehres was completely outcoached and mishandled his talent, not only in this game, but probably the entire season.  To a degree, I understand putting Shorts at QB to generate a spark.  If you think he is that good though, shouldn't he have been in there from the beginning?  How many reps at QB can you possibly be giving Shorts if you are attempting to prepare your #2 QB for his first start?

Again....great show by both teams.

+k brother that was one hell of a college football game played yesterday! Thoughts:

-both teams are just loaded with talent and smart football players

-both teams play at a much higer level than dlip is used to seeing at the D3 level

-dlip could not agree more regarding Shorts at QB, he'll even go further and say if Shorts played at QB all year this Mount team may have been even more dominent throughout and defeated the Warhawks yesterday

-congrats to U-Dub they were the better team yesterday and are as deserving of the National Championship as any football team dlip has seen

-now the ****ing off season  :'(

Union89-

I don't know, seems like good coaching to me to prepare your best backup QB for the stagg? With Piloto making his first career start do you really want all you eggs in one basket? I think every coach in the land would have given their best option at #2 qb some reps in preparation for the national championship game. I don't see how LK was out coached. Seems more obvious to me that UWW had better players. 299 yds rushing has nothing to do with coaching IMO.

I don't know... to me the QB handling in the game did seem like a mess.  Of course the UMU faithful are going to come in and defend their "perfect" coach, but from an outsider's perspective, I was thinking WTF is going on here.

If it works, LK is a genious...........when it doesn't work, how do you not question the move?  Shorts made some big plays at QB, but he also took them out of the game with his play there.

TGP thought he'd dust off this one given Xmas is almost here.  Happy holidaze for all:

'Twas the night before Christmas', when all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even U89's computer mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Guru soon would be there;
The Futchmen were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Shoeapalooza danced in their heads;
And Mrs TGP in her 'kerchief, and TGP in my Hobart cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
TGP sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window TGP flew like the Rev running to get his flask,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the crest of the new-fallen snow
Gave the luster of supe57 to the objects below,
When, what to TGP's wondering eyes should be,
But a miniature escalade, lead by a large contingent of the LLPP,

With a little old driver, so lively like Sulu,
TGP knew in a moment it must be St. Guru.
More rapid than Enginegro eating Ruck wings they came,
And St. Guru whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:

"Now, PBR! now, JT! now, Tags and LewDogg!
On, Dewcrew! on Reg! on, Rossi and RedTackle!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now Holladawg! Holladawg! Holladawg all!"

"As dry leaves that before the wild '86 field fly,
When they meet with a Boswell, or Butterfield to the sky,
So up to the house-top the LLPPers they flew,
With the sleigh full of Daily Doses, and a K-Mack ATN too.

And then, in a twinkling, TGP heard on the roof
The ballin on a budget of each LLPPer drinking 80 proof.
As TGP drew in his hand, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Guru came with a bound.

He was dressed all in D3 gear, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of D3 prognostications he had flung on his back,
and he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
Although Garnet said he had smoked all his stash,
TGP thinks he'd cough up some if shown the cash
St Guru had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a bowl full of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And TGP laughed, in spite of himself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know TGP had nothing to dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
Laying his finger aside of his nose, he said "It's Science"
And giving a nod, up the chimney he flyeth;

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a shout,
And away they all flew downing their Guiness car bombs and the rest of the stout.
But TGP heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight,
"MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT."

U89, Got my son's Fatheads for Christmas, wasn't until now that I thought of the connection (yes, I'm old), any plans for a patent infringement lawsuit?

+K to the board, Happy Christmas. Let's hope the LL has more to be thankful for next season.
