To you upstaters who remember Marc Brown as a player as Siena, he won his first NJAC championship with NJCU tonight in his fourth year as coach.  

I broadcast the NJCU/Montclair St. game last night -- Marc was great all night with us.  I said to him at the beginning of the post-game interview that I remember watching him with his team in 1989 beat Stanford in the 3/14 matchup, and that it really looked like he was even happier with last night's accomplishment.  A side note: the basketball floor there is named after Marc's father -- so, definitely some important lineage there.

If I had known that was you Frank I would have come down and said hi.  I was right right behind you guys all the way at the top with the Stalkerette wearing an old NJCU football jersey, sitting behind the college President and John J Moore.  Charlie Brown was a hell of a coach and a happy dad when the game ended.  He had a big ol dlip eating grin on his face as he hugged Mark.

Any word on the RPI Football job? Are there finalists yet?

Yes.  'gro is the only finalist.  RPI will go 9-0 next season -- something about a Purple Drank for every player before kickoff will make the difference.

Unfortunately, the Administration at RPI does NOT understand this.  But, my hope is that in the long run, they make the right decision and it greatly benefits the program.  I heard Shirley has MAD connections.  Bill Cowher could do wonders for the program!

But why not name an interim coach?  Who is performing the exit interviews with recruits doing overnight visits?  Who is going to oversee spring practices?  I understand a search is necessary and that Coach King left somewhat abruptly, but there is generally a protocol in these situations that helps alleviate the roadbumps caused by such scenarios.  I hope there's a method to the madness here, as I do respect the RPI program a lot (except for one week a year) ;-)

If they were to name an interim HC it would have happened already.  I think they have some Ivy coaches who want to use it as a stepping stone to 1AA head jobs.
