Where are the SLU folks?

Soon-to-be-Mr.TheGrove was presented the germ of a possibility today. So... what's Canton like? What's nearby?

Never having been to Canton I can't speak to what it's like, but my late father (who admittedly was there 70+ years ago) always gave me the impression that absolutely nothing is nearby.

You best like hockey if you live up there... It's a way of life -- period.

Here's what I have against Andy Dick, to this day... It's tough to prove, but inside televisions circles, it's believed to be pretty much on point:

Granted, this is not an isolated legal incident for him:

I'll take the self-admitted wreck of Andy Dick over the pious fraud of Mel Gibson anyday! :D

Hollywood is loaded with frauds, Gibson is not the only one.  When they get paid very well to pretend, one becomes far removed from real life.

Luckily, we don't have to choose either one of thes asshats. Both are objectionable human beings.

U89 now has "guest" status.  What happened?  Did he cork his wine bottle and wrap up his cheese and go home??

Now, men, there is a big difference between being a fraud and being very deeply troubled.
If you look at Mel, he really was a good man with some very deep problems, and one day he snapped and he threw away everything he believed in and had lived. Now he is suffering from his actions and is working to clean up his act.

Hypocrites are people who are miserable failures, and then decide that they will "change the rules" of what failure is and is not, such that they can consider themselves "winners" because now they pass over the very low bar of their own making. The alcoholic who says alcoholism is not a sin is a hypocrite. The alcoholic who knows it is a sin, tries to over come it yet fails miserably and publicly is human.

No moderator action was taken. He left of his own accord.

k+ Rev.  Couldn't agree more.

TGP btw met Mel in 2000 when Mrs. TGP was working on a movie of his (What Women Want).

Admittedly this was a long time ago, but he couldn't have been a nicer guy.  TGP agrees its his personal demons and alcoholism (perhaps other substance abuse) that are the reason for his very public and unfortunate downfall.

I guess I'm the only a$$hole (oh well, wouldn't be the first time  :P)  here that thinks that it was his own decisions that got him into the problems he has and that doesn't excuse his behaviors.

I'm with you PG.  Although I think he has some mental health issues which gives him some explaination for his actions.
