KS thinks the NBA should have set a minimum penalty for going into the stands after the brawl last season.  KS doesn't know if there is one and hasn't heard anything about one today.  KS also thinks that professional sporting franchises need to set aside areas for the players familys that are away from the fans.  KS knows that players should always have their heads in the game but KS knows that sometimes that does not happen.

What would everyone here do if they were still playing their sport of choice and they saw a wife, girlfriend, mother, sister etc being harrassed by a drunken fan?

KS would go after said drunk if KS thought loved ones safety was at stake and he could get there faster than anyone else.

Gro might be a little biased here (knicks fan) but this is totally different than the artest situation and thinks the guy should get 1 or 2 games for the sole reason that he entered the stands. No punches, no altercation... he thought his wife was in trouble (Gro also thinks that when this pans out it was probably the wifes fault for starting an argument... I'd put money on it).

Get this... dood makes $13.8 mil a year. That's $162,292.68 per game. That's $3506.10 for evey min of every game.  Think about it... he gets 2 fouls and sits on the bench for 5min of playing time... he just made almost 20 grand!!

How fast can you dial Jacoby and Meyers?

Less than 24 hours later.  Almost makes KS think dude planned harrassing a players wife.

Have you ever tried to cancell an account and the guy/gal on the phone pleads with you not to? Gro almost lost it when he called to start the process of rolling over his 401k from his old employer to the new one (should have done that by now but that's neither here nor there).

The guy would not let me do it!! He kept dodging the bullet by asking stoopid question like does the new plan have this or can you do that or you know you can leave your money here and it'll be just fine. If that's what I wanted to do, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Turns out, my address wasn't updated, so I have to fax in the new one, then get a mailed confirmation... before I can get back to actually taking my money and running.

JP Morgan... UP YOURS!!!

Gro, I tried to cancel an aol online account once, and the prick tricked me.  He basically told me that I would get one more month for free if I still wanted to use it.  I told him ok, but I wasnt going to use it.  What I did not know was that I was saying ok to more aol billing for the future, and that if I didn't like that free month, I would have to call again to cancel.

(My reason for swithing at the time was because my roomate already had a dsl account with someone else.)

Whats the take on the Antonio Davis Situation?

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=sheridan_chris&id=2298108

Personally, bobby thinks Davis should have his head in the game, not in the stands, especially during overtime.

The article recommends 8 games - For an average player, that sounds about right - for a high profile player and president of the NBA players' association maybe 16 games, or add a community service.

I think that Davis should be suspended just because he went into the stands, because "quite frankly" (like my Stephen A. Smith reference?) you can't do that. But considering the circumstances, I think it should only be 1 or 2 games. He was protecting his family. When I saw that on Sports Center the morning after, Antonio Davis became one of my heroes for that.

Any dude that is looking for a cash settlement for "chick scratching him" deserves to have his berries hacked off eunuch style.  Davis didn't touch him. He's 22, I'll bet he was hammered.

Dawg, KS is with you on the NBA.  KS loves the Knicks but especially since the last lockout ended the NBA has been unwatchable for the most part.

Re: The NBA

Gro was a die hard Knicks fan in the 90's. Once it went from ewing, starks, and oakley to houston and spreewell Gro lost interest (although they had their moments).

Anyway... you know the NBA is in a sad state of affairs when a cross eyed canadian wins the MVP

Gro, Im not going to smite you, but I have to admit that the 1990s knicks teams are probably at the top of my list of most hated teams.  My annoying freshman year roomate had a poster of starks and "the dunk" on the wall above his bed.  Are you friggin kidding me?  A poster of one play of one game of a team that didnt even win anything?  Derek Harper, Charles Oakley, Anthony Mason......Those guys have to be the biggest punks of all time.  I actually had to root for those goon Miami Heat players during that time...PJ ???, Zo, I dont even remember the pg from miamis name..... but anyway.

JU's list of most hated sports teams growing up. (due to annoying friends liking them)

1) Duke Basketball-  How annoying were these guys?  Laettner, Hurley, Wojoscrubski, Cherokee Parks?  Gimme a break, those Duke teams would make great boy bands.

2) The Dallas Cowboys- Why do kids grow up liking these jokers?  Silver pansies.

3) The New York Knicks- (reasons listed above)

4) The New York Yankees-  Win a world series when you arent the highest paid team in the league by more than 100 million dollars and then Ill honor your accomplishments.  So your boss makes you guys get haircuts, whoop-de-dam-doo.

5) Penn St. Football- why the hell every Ithaca College student from PA had to love Penn St Football is beyond me.  Overated and they tried to copy the bombers uniforms.

6) The entire Syracuse Athletic Department- Ok, if the Ithaca College student that doesnt play sports at Ithaca love them so much, then why the hell didnt you just go there in the first place?  Get out of my sight before I go take a poop in your dome.

KS will not smite JU only because of his number 2, which should be number one always.  I am a Dolphins fan and I think I hate the Cowboys more than I hate the Jets.

KS is a Knicks fan from way back, KS remembers when the Knicks won a championship.  KS was the first kid in his elementary school with a pair of Clydes.  KS loved Clydes, Clyde was DA MAN!

JU,

With regards to No #4 it requires an amendment.  That owners who benefit monetarily from the luxury taxes of the Yankees, Red Sox, Mets, Dodgers etc., be required to spend it on players and not put it in their pockets.  Most just keep their payrolls low and pocket the extra cash.  Winners spend the money to win.

Knightstalker is watching boxing on galavision, for some reason KS loves watching fights on the spanish language stations.  I think the announcer just said these two are beating the hell out of each other.

LL,INC is reaching new heights.....good work lads. Wonder if the guru envisioned this place would take on the scope of 'off-season blogging' that it has.

So RT is moved into his new house w/ fiance. RT been doing all kinds of work around house....aside from the Joe Dirt the satellite installer who we discussed in earlier posts, RT is sick of Verizon. This has been an ongoing saga RT would like to douche... the net is that almost 4 weeks ago, RT ordered his new phone service online (RT tries to do everything online). He gets the email confirmation that phone and DSL is set up and they give RT a # to use. RT calls 2 days later....they give RT a different # than what they told him online (RT has to get new business cards AGAIN now) and that DSL order "was in process" and the equipment would be coming soon. RT waits a week and calls back..."oh sorry, your line doesnt qualify for DSL". RT goes ballastic...."why let RT order online" and other assorted arguments blasting Verizon for wasting RT's time. So RT get's roadrunner again and been ok for a couple of weeks. Guess what comes in mail today?? RT's DSL router and notifcation the DSL is active...WTF??!!! These guys can't get their heads out of their azzes....

Tonight, RT decided to be 'Dawg and pay more attention at the Y and look for some material for PP. RT notices a hot girl doing squats w/ a "What Boyfriend??" tee shirt on...and some skater-lookin dude with an "I Work Out" shirt. Tonight must've been bizzaro shirt night at the Y.....and also, RT seems to belong to the "tattoo-fabulous" YMCA because every dude in there had enough ink to make RT think he was hanging out w/ KS in some dive naval bar in the Philippines. Are spider-web tats on the back of the should hip now? Didn't see much tribal stuff or barb wire...however, a few LA Gang style letterings and funky Lord of the Rings type stuff.....
