A Rochester fan on the boards?  Welcome!  We're mostly nice around here.

Thanks for the welcome.  Looks like St. Lawrence will be getting their first non-league victory under the new coach.

Welcome to the boards and good luck to Rochester tonight!!!! Let's go Yellowjackets!

Did anyone else see what I just saw a 6-2" 275lb DE foe the gamecocks took direct snap fake punt about 70 yards to the house.  And was running away from people.  RB skills on a guy that big.  Wow!

Didn't see the game ... was it Jadaveon Clowney? That kid played HS ball in the Charlotte media market last year and seemed to be featured in the highlights every Friday night. Obviously anything can happen, but most observers around here have him ticketed to the NFL already.

Nice W Rochester, thank you!

Great Win for the Yellowjackets.  No 0-3 start to this season finally.  Great effort by the defense to hold an explosive Case offense to 7.   The Courage Bowl comes next . . .

Ok, so....what good can you take from a 48-17 loss?  Well it's tough to take much.  I think it's blatantly obvious that Alfred is pretty good and RPI has some serious work to do.  At this point in time, Alfred is just plain better.  Much better.  RPI's defense couldn't do anything and that really dictated the whole game.

That being said, I think there is something here to be optimistic about.  By no means do I think RPI can compete regionally at this point with any top teams outside of the LL.  Hobart is still a bit of a question mark, but outside of them, it doesn't look like the LL is very strong this year.  So, I think, even with losing by 31 to Alfred, RPI still has a good shot to compete for the LL title.  RPI was simply outmatched.  However, they played hard right down to the last whistle.  They were disciplined.  And they had some flashes that they have a good amount of talent.

With that said, they could use a convincing win next weekend against Castleton St.  It would be good for their confidence and it might help them gel as a team.  This team has a lot of room to improve and by the sounds of things, they will improve.  I think this is a wake up call that the season is here.  I'm hoping this is a completely different team 5-6 weeks down the road.  I'm definitely not going to get down after 1 game(against a very good team), especially with what appears to be a terrible league once again this year.  The LL needs to get it together.  It's getting embarrassing.  Like NEFC embarrassing.

LD, stop making excuses.  We all know that RPI sucks, you suck and the entire City of Troy sucks.  All you're doing is giving them excuses to continue sucking.

What?!  You didn't listen to "In the HuddLLe" tonight?!!!  Well, here's what you missed:

- Merchant Marine Academy Head Coach Mike Toop and quarterback Stephen Sasso discussed the exciting win by the Mariners in the Secretary's Cup game at King's Point Saturday;

- University of Rochester quarterback Braezen Subick chatted with us about Rochester's first win in the current series against Case Western Reserve, Rochester's first opening game win since 2006;

- We had clips and memories about 9/11, including a clip from out 2008 show with former WPI Head Coach Ed Zaloom; and

- We recapped all six games from Saturday in "Around the League" and predicted next week's games in "Speed Predictions."

I agree. I was thinking how disappointing both of Union's losses were, and that it may be a long season, but after two weeks, I'm not going to rule Union out of winning the LL. I see that as highly unlikely, but the league may be that bad this year. I am actually hoping that Hobart can rise above this and prove that they are a team that can represent the LL well in the NCAA's, because at this point, I don't see any other teams who are able to do that. Truly disappointing.

Thank god the Jet's were nice enough to allow the Cowboys to give them a game last night, and Notre Dame decided to play for 3 quarters (and allow for one of the great 4th quarters in that games history), or this would be a tough start to a season for my teams.
