Sorry JU but Gro still loves the knicks teams from the 90's. They had heart, tenacity, they dove for balls. Patrick Ewing wore knee pads. They took no sh!!t from the bulls, celtics, suns, heat, anyone. It's a shame they could never get through the bulls until jordan left, then lost in game 7 to the rockets (then lost again to the spurs). With Marv albert and Clyde on the call I watched every game on MSG channel.

Stopped watching the NBA for a while, but the Detroit pistons are the closest thing to the old knicks. I loved it when they beat the hell out of the lakers a few years ago.

I still hate Riley for not sitting Starks cold brick shooting ass down in that game.  Oakley was my favorite player on those knick teams.  Then they got Kurt Thomas and he had that bad-ass attitude, and they trade him away, but I think AD is starting to show that attitude to the kids they have now.  The pistons beat the hell out of the Knicks tonight.

COUPLE ORDERS OF BIDNESS FROM THE DAWG

* Dawg thinks LLPP should have a yearly 'State of the LLPP' address. It could be the most senior poster from an LL school or whoever we vote to do it for that year. Dawg thinks Dr. Enginegro should kick it off and give a rousing speech at the first LLPP dinner/charity/auction to be also held during the Dutchmen Shoes weekend, which also coincidentally is the start of the LLPP New Year. Could be one hell of a bash.

* Dawg thanks D3football.com's own, Pat Coleman (PC) for letting the LL'ers do their thang and put LLPP where it is today. Dawg wishes he had PC as his RA back in the day which probably would have led to less trips to the Deans Office. Please thank the Guru when you see him.

* Dawg is in the midst of printing up LLPP bidness cards. Gonna have the normal name (Holladawg), phone number, cool Garnet picture, etc. Could be a great asset to have another form of bidness card other than the real deal.

* Dawg disappointed that Stacy Kiebler wasn't showing as much skin tonight in 'Dancing Wit The Stars' but it's all good. Dawg plans to propose to her live next week. Not sure if she's expecting it but Dawg is certain she'll say yes after she sees the bling Dawg has for her.

* Boss's Boss gave the Dawg a heart to heart. Claims he never won a championship and wanted that 'championship feeling' just once. Dawg plans to give him a nice ice cold Gatorade bucket dousing to get that feeling. Wish Dawg luck that he doesn't get the ax after said dousing.

* Guy was doing the craziest exercise in the gym the other day. Was laying on his back below the smith machine bar. Loaded up 2 45's on each side, then placed the bottom of his feet on the underside of the bar and proceeded to do some sort of modified leg press while he was stlll laying on his back under the bar on the smith machine. Isn't that what the leg press is for? Dawg was dumbfounded and left the gym. Hasn't been back since.

Just a blast from the past for all the old skool LLPP folks.....I think it was 'Gro who said a few years ago, "after the season ends, we should continue to post and bust testacles on random happenings!!"  Someone from management in PP said this is a D3 football site and only said dialogue would be permitted......'Gro said, "don't get your panties in a bunch" and apologized.....anyone else remember that??

You've come a long way LLPP......BABY!!!!

Thanks for letting us be ourselves PP management....

Stienbrenner would never allow this!!!

Union89 took his fellow LLPP crews advice and strutted into BestBuy today to fondle some digital cameras and purchase a Sirius portable media player....

U89 was impressed with the size and and fuctionality of the Cannon and Fuji cameras.....Overstock.com and eBay, here comes U89....

U89 also decided on the model SPTK2, SportsCaster player for $99 clams....after speaking with the saleswoman, U89 says, "Union89 will take this 1, where does Union89 pick it up??".  After selling U89 on this unit for 20 minutes the saleschick states, "oh, we're all sold out of that model and won't be getting anymore for 2 months."  WTF??  U89 then proceeded to Radio Shack and some other audio/vidio place in the CambridgeSide Galleria and got the same response....'Ya think Howard is earning his $500 mill??

Starks played with heart and he was always a streaky shooter, but yes Riles (from schenectady!) should have gone w/ another option that game.  Don't forget the badass tamdem of Anthony "Point God" Mason and Anthony Bonner.  Besides Ewing, the Knicks were filled w/ guys that weren't that great players on their own (can you say Charles Smith?), but they just played together. Even their guards (Greg Anthony, Dereck Harper, Hubert Davis) were badasses!! Some of the greatest knicks moments of the 90's, besides their playoff battles vs. the bulls, pacers, and heat... were the fights.

Yeah that was Gro all right. That's back when Pat had limited bandwidth and the concept of a LLPP offseason blog-o-sphere was not too appealing. Glad to see that Pat allows this D3 tomfoolery to continue this year.

OOPS!

Gro's shooting the ish with a female co worker (hey you older LLPPers she's 40 and still got it). As she's walking away she turns around to say one more thing and Gro is definetly caught taking a "glance 'o the booty". That's just Gro being Gro.

It took Reg an hour to find this picture.....It better be worth some good karma

Thank you reg, Gro's been after that pic for some time. Gro sported the jordan shrug back when his pimp hand was strong... so that was about 6 years ago.

That plus your "regdonalds" line has earned you 2 weeks worth of +k.

p.s. Remember the MJ gatorade song?

sometimes I dream, that he is me...

Re: The NBA

Gro was a die hard Knicks fan in the 90's. Once it went from ewing, starks, and oakley to houston and spreewell Gro lost interest (although they had their moments).

Anyway... you know the NBA is in a sad state of affairs when a cross eyed canadian wins the MVP

"Dawg, KS is with you on the NBA.  KS loves the Knicks but especially since the last lockout ended the NBA has been unwatchable for the most part."

I agree with both of you.  I used to go back when it was true Knick fans going to the games not the crowd that went to be seen or cause it was the thing to do.  I used to go with dad when I was younger a couple of times a year(when seats were affordable) or you could scalp courtside seats for a reasonable amount.

I used to go in the days when Bird, Jabbar & Magic played.  Was at the one of the games when Bernard King put in 40 during the playoffs.  Used to see Frazier, Monroe, Bradley, Debusschere, Reed, McAdoo all played and Red Holzman was the coach.  It was enjoyable then.

That's why you need to get XM...better service, better quality, and O & A.

union89

Bud ~
I hear ya with O&A, but after that, XM looks like pretty slim picken's......There were more than enough XM players at BestBuy which speaks to the point of Sirius kicking them in the glutes.

In this edition of COOL or UNCOOL?

I ask you... is it cool or uncool to CC someone's boss on an email, for the sole purpose of making sure that person the email is intended for responds?

Gro usually hates when people do that to him, but he just did it to the customer service mgr (we have the same boss). I just want her to know that she can't blow off the new guy.

thoughts?

UNCOOL-
Reg is a much bigger fan of the 2 day forward with the CC and the...."Hey you ignored me now this kat knows you are lazy and dont respond"

The way you did it immediately lets boss delete any and all emails not directly to him.
