Like I said my boss is her boss too... so this email does involve him. the problem is

1. I need her help on my project or my boss kills me
2. she is known for not responding to emails

the results are in... only took her 4min to respond! but, her response was "could you explain to me better?"  back to the drawing board.

Uncool - Per Reg - Use the CC to the boss as leverage on a follow up e-mail.

CC the boss may be uncool - but a blind cc may cost you your job.

Bobby had a troubled employee in the office who did not like how bobby operated.  After several poor performance reviews and corrective action plans, employee tries to get back at bobby.

Bobby had provided summary comments to a design memo in an e-mail.  Well, troubled employee responded to the e-mail claiming that bobby had incorrectly guided the employee in the wrong direction, and blind cc'ed bobbys boss.  Well, the blind cc was the final nail in the coffin; employee was dismissed in +/- 2 weeks.

Bud ~
I hear ya with O&A, but after that, XM looks like pretty slim picken's......There were more than enough XM players at BestBuy which speaks to the point of Sirius kicking them in the glutes.
U89,
Most of the channels, especially with the music, are basically the same on either system. For example, on XM, the hair band channel is called da Boneyard, and on Sirius, the same channel is called Hair Nation... the only difference is the name.

In this edition of COOL or UNCOOL?

I ask you... is it cool or uncool to CC someone's boss on an email, for the sole purpose of making sure that person the email is intended for responds?

Gro usually hates when people do that to him, but he just did it to the customer service mgr (we have the same boss). I just want her to know that she can't blow off the new guy.

thoughts?

Uncool...Sorry...If I don't hear back after a number of days I resend the original note & if I  still don't hear back after that, then I CC their manager & my manager

To each his own, if you're gonna use the CC later might as well start off with it.

but the blind CC... that is the unwritten rule... NEVER blind CC anyone on anything. If someone did that to me that's grounds for a knuckle sandwhich from grodonald's1

1. The term "Grodonald's" is credited to the Regulator, direct all +k for that term to its originator.

Another reason not to blind cc, the person being blind cc'ed may not realize they were not in the to: or CC: column, and then respond to all - UNCOOL

Reg has done the "not realied you were bCC'd before...totally uncool.

BudCrew...I am not even going to smite you because you are a moron on 2 different levels,
1- you keep defending XM....DO you Fing work for them or something???  I thought this board was about honest reviews here....
Here is a question, 2 companies that do the exact same thing.  Company a & b...
Company A makes 10X the revenue that company B does....who inturn can put that back into the station.....what company do you go with??? (i.e.- Nextel ETC)
2nd- you probably have that picture hanging on your wall.

Famous Ithaca alum kicks bucket... it's up... and it's good!

From SI.com
QuoteTom Nugent, who was credited with developing the I formation at Virginia Military Institute, died of congestive heart failure Thursday, his family said. He was 92....
...Nugent was inducted into the halls of fame at Florida State and New York's Ithaca College, where he won 10 letters in baseball, basketball, football and track.

Tonight, RT decided to be 'Dawg and pay more attention at the Y and look for some material for PP. RT notices a hot girl doing squats w/ a "What Boyfriend??" tee shirt on...and some skater-lookin dude with an "I Work Out" shirt. Tonight must've been bizzaro shirt night at the Y.....and also, RT seems to belong to the "tattoo-fabulous" YMCA because every dude in there had enough ink to make RT think he was hanging out w/ KS in some dive naval bar in the Philippines. Are spider-web tats on the back of the should hip now? Didn't see much tribal stuff or barb wire...however, a few LA Gang style letterings and funky Lord of the Rings type stuff.....

- Duke of Cleveland

RT,
Have you ever seen anything like this at the gym?

I defend XM because I have the service and I think it's a great service. I also think that both services have practically the same music choices.... sports is a different matter, but depending on what you like, you should pick which service brings you those sports.

When I say that the services are similar, take a look at the channel listings for each:

XM: http://www.xmradio.com/programming/full_channel_listing.jsp?sort=number
The little doggy company: http://www.sirius.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Sirius/CachedPage&c=Page&cid=1018209032790
(then click on channel guide)

The channels are basically the same, except for the fact that they have different names.
And who says that one company is making 10x more than the others? I'd like to see the figures.

To respond to the second thing: I figure my karma isn't high enough like youse to make a difference, so I figured -1 was NBD. No, I don't have Steve Nash's picture on my wall, jack.

Garnet - Bobby is completeing week 3 of his New Years Resolution Gym Membership(NYRGYM), and bobby has not seen the likes of that in my gym.  Bobby has been going to the gym in the mornings 5:30-7 am b/c of commitments afterwork - namely the wife and two kids - and is sad to report that the gym is a sausage fest at that time.  Even the women there look like men - it sucks.

Anyway, only 2 or 3 more weeks, then bobby can quit the NYRGYM and become classified as a tourist!

I've been busy travelling but I have to pipe in on the Satellite Radio convo. Sirius is Man-tastic.  With the addition of Howard and Bubba the Love Sponge, it's amazing.  the music has always been good, but now I just can't get enough ofany of it.  And NFL Radio is pretty badass too.  But since the anal scrubbing the refs gave the Pats, I'm out on football for a while.

Now, more important matters at hand...

I think it is vital to the LLPP organization that I created that everyone possible should try to make the shoes game this year in Troy.  It shall be one of our most glorious days!  There is a lot of time to start making plans, so everyone start hitting the gym, hitting the sauce, and tying up random chicks in the basement.

If Union wins this year, I will give all LLPP Union fans the 5 point palm-exploding heart technique.

Gro agrees and will add some more. Let this years shoesapalooza be the largest RPI/Union Football Alumni gathering ever. The LLPP will be a subset of this group.

I say we get as many ex players together as possible, maybe an alumni game of flag football (pronouced: tackle) on the practice field. Just add chicken wings and aka-haul.
