Looks like while it was a HWS student (given the @hws.edu) that posted, it's not a player.  Unless I missed something, this sounds like a prank.

Since they deleted their account, I don't have access to the person's email. I was just saying the post came from campus. There's not enough info on the board currently to prove or disprove it was a player.

It was an AOL.com email address.  I remember that much.

I think it has to be the player.  It wasn't really a funny prank to put up stuff like that, and the fact that the person tried to delete the account so fast makes me think they were trying to hide something.

To someone who cares about Hobart it's a shame because the kid was 2nd team all East as a Sophomore, a rare Jr non-QB captain on a top 10-15 team and may actually be one of the best OL in the country, but this sort of clouds the picture more than enhance the case.

Iamhuge was promoting a kid (his) who didn't do much at Franklin and Marshall and has since transferred to Tufts, so I'd still place him at the top of the list.  Plus the serious "how much do you bench" question is an all time classic.

BTW, who still uses AOL email addresses?  Except for married guys that use Ashley Madison's services.

It is true at least that the kids who have come on here have been pretty solid football players (who was the Aflred kid again?)

And Iamhuges kid seems to be a student coach now and is not playing on the team.

That was Nick Gatto, a starting LB.

"Thanks for the knowledge" is pretty close IMO.  But you're right, it doesn't quite match the "How much do you bench" question/threat.

I actually get why kids might do such things (i.e. register under a presumed ghost name like "WhittFootball" and post a question about themselves looking for praise).  Like I said, Division III offensive lineman is about as anonymous as it gets, and there's no real way to know whether people think you're a good player or not.  He's hardly the only person ever to cast a line in this manner.

Time to let it go folks.  Kids do stupid things.
Heck, so do adults.  We're all proof.
How about talking some Saterday football?
Any stunning upsets on the horizon?

pumkinattack

Agreed.  I stupidly drank bourbon with a handful of my groups best clients from 4pm until midnight on Monday knowing I had to get up at 5am to leave Charlotte for Columbia, SC the following morning to attend a conference all day.  Some things never change......

Then again, there's some debate as to whether I've actually graduated to adulthood.  My wife debates that daily.

Pep is exited to think about his Saxons upsetting Salisbury Steak saterday. Pep believes that would be an upset, given the Seagulls' 17-1 E8 record to date, whereas AU is 12-6 in the conference over the same time period.

Is it really a debate, though?

On Saxon Warriors!

I don't know about upset, but you guys played them close last year and almost pulled the upset. I wouldn't be surprised with the weather having a 80% overcast, that the Saxons may fall on a number of fumbles and force Salisbury to the air late in the game. Then again can the Saxons score on the Gulls, other than that SJF game and Wesley game, the Salisbury defense has been very good as of late.

Nope, I prefer to live like Peter Pan (without the spandex pants).
