Congrats to WR Kyle Reynolds, LB Jake LaRovera, and P Tyler Barnes on their selection to the Liberty League first team! Also congrats to OL Sean Carey on his selection to the second team as well as Andrew Baker (WR), Connor Kinzelmann (Spec), and Jason Nelson (DB) on their honorable mention selections.

Not many Dutchmen players to complain about getting "robbed" regarding awards however freshman OLB Jack Reilly was one of the most impressive defenders dlip saw all season. This kid is fantastic and will clearly be featured in the league in the next three years.

Congrats to all the other recipients from across the league!

Congrats to the All Liberty League award winners. Perhaps we can get 2 NFL starters out of this group like we did last year ;D.

Of ****ing course that's the play of the week... :'(

I nominated it within 15 seconds of it happening, so, hey, at least Union and RPI fans should be able to agree with SOMETHING.  ;)

Just being silly here. Funny, dlip knew within 15 seconds of it happening that it was going to be the play of the week.  :)

You never know...

Well our season ended before the 1st quarter even ended.

It's just sour grapes...but what an unfortunate few weeks for the saints. They should have won that Hobart game, a turnover gilled game against USMMA, and a matchup with the number 1 team in the country because of the 500 mile rule. St Lawrence is 486 miles from an Mt Union. Cortland, with an identical record and one mutual opponent int Morrisville who they lost to by a wider margin, would be in Alliance right now.

I'm just happy we made the tournament, but it is disappointing that the season has to end like this.  Team overcame adversity with injuries to key players and that unfortunate Hobart game, only to be dropped into the meat grinder.  Either way, you have to go through Mt. Union at some point.

Was hoping SLU could have been more competitive today but hey...heads up on the LL title and a program heading in the right direction.

Apparently a Mount Union Receiver got lit up near the SLU sideline and the team reacted very favorably. MU did not like this and began to get chippy. One of their players hit QB Leffelbine late and low knocking him out of the game.

As bush league as it is, that's why you don't celebrate down 34 points.

I mean, it was the first TD scored on Mt. Union in over a month, and the team is playing for pride right now.

stlawus

Great season for the Saints.  Tough draw in the playoffs but managed to put up the most points on Mt. Union out of every team to play them.  23 points on a team averaging 3 points allowed per game is not the worst way to end your season.

Bartman

After a really scary start to the game the Saints dug in and gave a gutty performance after Lefflebine was knocked out. You beat the Purple Raiders second string in the second half, which would probably be a top 10 team on their own, and scored the most points(23) against the Mount this year. You can hold your heads up on the drive home and be proud of your season.

Great season SLU, but if I hear another "only team to score 23 on Mt. Union" one more time I'm going to puke.  (Just saw it tweeted/retweeted twice in addition to the two comments here).

stlawus

I mean, it's a noteworthy stat.  No team has scored double digits on them all year.  Is that not something for a team to be proud of?

Not really.  It was the backups who scored 2/3 of those points.  I'd be proud if I were Sean Richardson and the 2nd string offense (assuming that is who scored the 16 points in the 4th).
