In Top 25 upsets for Quick Hits this season:

Week 1
Salisbury over Albright - Win (Salisbury +16)

Week 2
Utica over ONU - Win (Utica +4)

Week 3
Illinois Wesleyan over NCC - Loss (NCC +27)

Week 4
Muhlenberg over Hopkins - Loss (Hopkins +6)

Week 5
Westminster over Thomas More - Loss (Thomas More +10)

Week 6
RPI over Hobart - Win (RPI +4)

Week 7
Utica over Fisher - Win (Utica +17)

Week 8
MMA over SLU - Loss (SLU +8)

Week 9
Brockport over Alfred - Loss (Alfred +2)

4-5 with three close calls in the five losses.  If I use the Hobart/SLU game this week for Quick Hits, I guess the upset would have about a 44% chance of materializing.  Tune in Thursday to see if it's my upset special or not...

in theory Frank should be 0 - 9 since he is trying to pick the underdog who has the best chance to win in his opinion.  Other than the Ill Wes pick his choice has shown pretty well with a couple of teams losing the game late.  If he picks Hobart, maybe you should be happy since he has been pretty good at finding a team that plays above expected.

Didn't Alfred eek out a 2 point win in the closing minutes?    Wasn't a bad pick given the result, just sayin'.......

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Bartman

It is less than 24 hours to kickoff between The Larries and the Pumpkinheads for all the marbles.....Good luck to both teams....just hoping for another crisp,  well-played  Fall classic and, of course,  a Hobart win....GO BART

Hobart15

In the stands. Cloudy. Moderate wind left to right. Hobart on field. St Lawrence in locker room.

stlawus

Who would have thought the defense would let the team down. This is absolutely atrocious.  Season's slipping away.

D3pc

Just as I was worried about - Sweeney and Co came to play.

Bartman

An unimpressive first half for the Larries as Hobart leads 20-10. Sweeney to  Shed showing their skills. I assume the Larries will come out for the second half with guns firing. Hopefully Hobart Defense will be up for it.

Defense looked like they were going to redeem themselves but give up another big play. I think that probably does it.

stlawus

And that's the season.  Congrats to the Statesmen, Sweeney is an unstoppable force.

stlawus

Very disappointing performance from my alma mater. Team worked too hard all year to play like that against Hobart. Bad penalties and big plays was the name of the game.

Not to take away anything from Hobart. Sweeney and Shed are special players. They should be undefeated, loss to RPI was clearly a fluke. With as good as QB play they have they're poised to win a game or two in the tournament, barring a matchup against Mount Union in the first round.

Bartman

Congrats to Hobart for playing their best game of the year. Sweeney(5 TDs) to Shed( 241yards) show still alive.  Hats off to Richardson ,he was a real pain and very elusive ..... Larries fought back to 20-18 and things were getting scary, but Hobart defense played great when it counted and have seriously improved the run defense.  Tough loss for the Larries made some mental mistakes...good luck next week against WPI. Next game against the feisty Yellow Jackets for the Statesman.....stay in focus and we will dance ;D

dlippiel

Bartman congrats on the big win today! The Pumpkinheads reign supreme in the LL.

As far as dlip's beloved Dutchmen go today was a very special day indeed. Union came to ****ing play and it showed against a good MMA squad. Senior QB Blake Gellar got the start and rewarded coach Behrman with an excellent game. Today Blake made the throws he needed to while the O-line controlled the LOS all ****ing day. Kinzelmann went bat**** crazy with over 200 on the ground while Carn was also very effective with over a 100 yards.

The Garnet D did not give up one big play and held the fiesta Mariners in check. The Dutch played 4full quarters of FB and gave us loyal fans one of the most enjoyable games in quite sometime.

This program will eventually be back. Dlip thinks today illustrated that.

What a great ****ing day of Union Football!!!!
