Yes, it appears that my phone call reaped results!  FOOTBALL Game Notes...https://www.unionathletics.com/documents/2017/11/3//2017_11_04_Union_FB_GameNotes.pdf?id=8733
After the off week Union Two Deep shows what I would expect. Key player WR Griffin Beal (who did play 2 weeks ago) is listed as the starter. RT Billy Grosse, who left with an injury, is back. Overall, Union is as healthy as a team can be this time of the year. I hope that Saturday, injuries do not play a significant role.

Ithaca vs Union should be great game, I predict Ithaca wins 16-14. Just don't see a high scoring game at Butterfield.

Griffin Beal playing is huge for Union but the bombers have JR Zazzara back this week.

Another  +k to Bombers for his celebrity on quick hits. Good luck to all the LL teams this weekend and especially to Union for a great turn around, Ithaca for a chance to win the LL in their first year and to RPI for their opportunity to win the LL and never giving up after Hobart torched the Engineers 30-0 ;D. As far as Hobart, we will celebrate the Seniors at the Boz, hopefully defeat the Saints in a game that everyone thought would be the most important game of the LL season,  and qualify for the inaugural NYS Bowl(if Union wins out) and more importantly,  stopping by the Hobart Football Parents best chilli contest following the game :P ;D.

If it weren't for Griffin Beal's tremendous one hand catch against Hobart at a critical point in the game that led to a score......Hobart may have come all the way back to snatch the late victory.....good luck to Union and I would mostly double Gladney early and not think one corner can cover the guy like Hobart tried for most of the game.

not sure if doubling Gladney is the answer, 1 on 1 Zazzara is deadly and Vito can stretch the field. Hobart lost to Ihaca because Harvey stepped out on kickoff and killed their chances.

South Hill, Thanks for the tip on covering Gladney. I think the Bombers should triple Biel and double Kaplanovich and Brown. Watch out for TE Hanney too....lol

Lol... should be a great game for 2 teams on the rise, can only hope the bombers win

When Union played Hobart two weeks ago the leading receiver for the Dutchman was not Griffin Beal, who caught a TD pass and set up another with a sensational one hand grab, it wasn't WR Packy Brown nor senior co-captain Alex Kaplanovich. It also wasn't one of the tight ends or LL first team RB Connor Kinzelman...No, it was back-up FY back Travis Demby who caught six "shuffle" passes from QB Nick Cascione for 76 key yards. The point is that Union in all my years of watching them has NEVER used the shuffle pass. Coach Behrman pulled something out of his playbook that long time foe Hobart had never seen Union run. It worked to perfection picking up numerous vital 1st downs. Dlip and I were hooting and high fivin' at what we were witnessing. What might coach B pull out of the hat next? You can bet there's something lurking for the Bombers.

Great game by the Statesman today on both sides of the ball.....the OC finally called some pass plays to the middle of the field and Shed breaks the Statesmen career receiving record.....Sweeney threw some great completions......this team was one score away from having a shot at the playoffs. It looks like IC has beaten Union, so no NYS Bowl either...oh well, it is a shame as this was a very talented team that fell short in 2 away games at Union and Ithaca......slow starts to every game was the achilles heal for this team as it happened again today with a 89 yard first drive only to be stopped at the one yard line on 4 running plays(when 2 starting OL are out?)...hey you have about 5 receivers that are 6'6 and 6'5 and the Saints db's are 5 foot 10...what's with that?......enough of my complaining on the play calls, just a reminder of the disappointment this season......congrats to the Seniors for 4 great seasons and play well against Rochester next week....keep your heads up, you played with pride today...Hip Hobart
