This week's Shoes game is going to really be great! It's been awhile since a game between these two had some real playoff meaning. The Dutchmen come in playing for their first post season honor in quite some time (New York Bowl) and RPI comes in looking for an LL title.

Looking at this season's results dlip really does not know exactly what the **** to expect from the Engineers on Saturday. When they have been bad they have been a bit worse than you would think possible. When they have been good, they have been quite good and showed the type of game that warrants a top five east region ranking. The D can certainly shut it down across the board and the offense can play ****ing tennis...back and forth...and then blow it up. If dlip is guessing he expects a very focused Engineer team on Saturday. One that will run the ball often, alternate mixing in short throws to the flat and middle of the field, and then take a couple of chances deep. dlip knows one thing for sure the Dutchmen O will have to work for everything they get.

On Union's side of the field they will certainly need to limit the mistakes and capitalize on their TOP. Last week IC used Union's offensive strength of ball possession against them by simply not letting them score. Union had the ball ****ing twice in the first half for like 8 hours a piece and only showed 3 points for it. IC on the other hand started to capitalize and forced Union into a panic which resulted in turnovers. IC was excellent last week and RPI will need to be the same to win on Saturday. The game will rest on Union's ability to control the line of scrimmage, pressure the excellent freshman QB, and capitalize on ball possession.

You know one thing dlip likes about this weekend, and believe him, dlip has come a long way from being negative, is that the Dutch can play big spoiler. dlip will never forget 2006 when the Shoes game was played on that **** ass 86' field when Union had already wrapped up the LL title but desperately needed the win for momentum's sake heading into the NCAAs. RPI beat our ass and on the way out this RPI fan was razing dlip. He looked at her and like a bitter five year old said, "have fun playing with yourselves next week (referring to any meaning in their season being gone). We'll be busy in the NCAA's." She looked at dlip and said, "At least we beat you and you know what? You're gonna lose next week because not only did we just beat you we completely deflated you." She was so right!!! Fisher ****ing toyed with us the following week and embarrassed Union out in Pittsford.

So come Saturday dlip hopes the Dutchmen not only defeat RPI, but ****ing deflate them! dlip would love nothing more than to send IC to the tourney and RPI to their asses and remind them that Hobart's monkey stomping of them was very real.
dlip,
    Thank you for pointing out what is now the highlight of the Statesmen season...the 30-0 stomping of the Engineers......although my head says the Engineers will win despite the Hobart game....the heart says the Dutchmen can will a win  with their new spirit and bounce back from last week's disappointment ....good luck to the Dutchmen...

OK...+k From me too Bombers and congrats for last week's 4th quarter dominance of the Dutchmen. My jab at you and your picks was aimed at you being new to the LL not meant to belittle your knowledge of NYS D3 football.  Now that Ithaca has played a full season in the Liberty League you most definitely are "as good as Bartman". I hope the Bombers roll over Cortland and leave them defeated and demoralized since they may play my Dutchmen next.

So much for setting stretch goals 8-)....I just wish the Statesman were as good as the Dutchmen or Bombers this year......but we just ran out of time in both games......although we are playing for the Centennial Cup on Saturday  ::)

Love the write up Dlip, +K. New life in the Dutchmen after being down for so long, would be a great cap to the season if they can upset the Engineers. Go U!

Caz is not sure what his favorite part of this photo is, the probably uncalled facemask by the leftmost IC defensive lineman, or the Bomber next to him throwing a forearm shiver into the Union guard's ummm, Dutchmen.

It's going to be cold for tomorrow's Shoes game. Not great for the fans but it should be great for some hard hitting football. The Engineers have had just a little more than the Dutchmen for the last few years but it seems to be evening. Union has the experience at QB and RPI the hot freshman. Cascione will have to get the Dutchmen into the end zone early, something he was unable to do last week even though they had two long drives in the first half. The Union D will need to pressure Marinopoulos and force turnovers.  If RPI gets ahead at halftime they can turn up their tight defense and roll like Ithaca did last week. If the kickers are the deciding factor, as well they might be, RPI kicker Christian Kapp maybe has more range than Union's Jonathan Schiable. Coach Behrman showed a lack of trust in Schiable last week eschewing a 38 yarder. A decision where Union ultimately came away with no points. He'll have to deliver tomorrow. I'm thinking the Dutchmen will score early and ride their emotions to a Shoes victory. That would mean that 5th home game next week hosting Cortland in the NYS Bowl.  Whatever happens it's been a great season.

8-) ::) ;D LET'S GO DUTCHMEN  ::) 8-);D
