And with supposed perfect acoustics yet never utilized for great music.

RPI wins tomorrow, especially with me freezing my a** off watching it go down live. Defense is opportunistic and stout up the middle, turnaround at QB has been something to see, o line is athletic and senior backfield is underrated (though also criminally underutilized). And special teams are also formidable.

In all seriousness it is impressive what RPI has done for most of this season. To dlip they are the favorite today. However dlip thinks Union, after the loss last week is being underrated here by most and certainly comes into today on the same level as a Hobart/Ithaca LL matchup for the Enginneers. Union can win this game for sure and may if they can sustain drives and have points to show for their TOP. Let's hope for an entertaining and injury free game for both teams. Dlip has a ton of respect for the Engineers, they have earned it.

...building looks like a ****ing turtle...

Dlip is also wishing the Bombers victory today in Cortica!

It's actually not that bad temp wise here. Agreed - injury free game!!

Congrats to the Engineers on winning the Liberty League and the NCAA berth.....you really rebounded after your losses to Hobart and Buff State in the middle of the season.

Dutchmen can hold your heads high , but I am sure you feel disappointment .......Statesmen know how it feels to walk away from Bailey needing more time to pull off a big win...Congrats on a great turn around this season...

First, dlip wants to congratulate RPI on their big SHOES win today over Union. Congrats on winning the LL title and dlip will be rooting for you big time come next week whomever you play.

As far as the game today here are dlip's thoughts. RPI deserved to win. They came out strong and it showed with their domination of the first quarter. dlip gives his Garnet a ton of credit for battling back and taking a 14-13 lead into half time. The second half belonged to the Engineer defense who time and again forced Union into three and outs. The Dutchmen could not get anything going with a one point lead after having many opportunities on offense. RPI stuffed the run today and really won the battle of the line of scrimmage throughout. The Dutchmen needed to throw the ball more early in the second half and it just didn't happen. dlip gets and loves the fact that U in a run first team but they just couldn't generate yardage on the ground today. All the credit to RPI's defense. Those kids played their asses off today and won the title for RPI.

This last part may sound like bitter grapes but if you know dlip it's not. At the conclusion of the game you had about 20 RPI students run onto the field like ****ing 5 year olds and jab at the Union players as the team shook hands. ****ing classless by a group of kids who "looked" like a bunch of rich spoiled brats who had no idea what the players on both sidelines just left all out on the field. Tons of credit to the many RPI kids whom dlip witnessed that did not jump onto the field and waited until both teams had shaken hands and separated. There is a line, yes even for excited, possible drunken college kids when it comes to sports. Union students learned what that line is decades ago against Rochester and these idiots hopefully will learn a lesson of some kind. Mark dlip's words he'd be just as disappointed if it was Union students who acted in this manner. Also, hats off to Union AD John McClaughlin for maintaining his composure while getting these ****ing clowns off the field. Ok rant over.

Go get'um next week RPI dlip believes you are the best team in the LL this season and is pulling for you! By the way that freshmen QB is going to be nasty for the next three years. What composure for a freshmen.

Congrats to the Union Ducthmen players, coaching staff, and Alumni for what was an incredible season and turnaround. This is a very young well coached team that has a very bright future. dlip while disappointed with today's loss is so proud to be a Union Football fan and can't wait for the 2018 season. He will always bleed Garnet and does so with the utmost pride today.

Lastly, congrats to Ithaca for taking Cortland to the wood shed today. dlip is very proud of the season IC had. The Bombers have a lot to look forward to in what is a bright future.

What will come of the NYS Bowl next week? Cortica rematch?????

Caz Bombers

After 7 grueling years in captivity, the Jug has come home to its loving South Hill family. We've missed you, old buddy.

@d3jason

Does it go back if they lose Cortaca II?

Does anyone remember what they did in '88 when they played again in the playoffs? Growing up in Mansfield, I have a vague remembrance of the hype for that game in '88 on the Elmira TV stations.

My understanding is any rematches in the same year is not considered a jug game.  The 1988 quarterfinal wasn't added to the trophy as an official result.

Dlip believes IC will bypass the NYS Bowl and play in the ECAC game. He doesn't know this for certain but let's say it's a hunch. This would mean Union would then host Cortland next week...if dlip's hunch is correct.

Olorin

Walking out of Union yesterday I heard a couple of gentlemen saying one of the coaches had told them that Union has a home game next weekend, so it appears dlip's hunch may indeed be correct.

So what if Cortland, not knowing Ithaca would bypass the NYS Bowl, also chose to decline a repeat game. That would mean Alfred at Union? Haha! Pep has his sights set on Delaware with the ECAC scenario affording Pep a weekend with 8-month old grandson in NOVA, no matter when the Saxons play.
